Grand Trunk Western 5632 was constructed by the ] of ] in November 1929<ref>{{Harvp|Kean|1973|p=96}}</ref><ref name=":2">{{Harvp|Edwin|1976|p=29}}</ref> and it was delivered to the ] in 1930 along with its sister locomotives 5633 and 5634.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":2" />
