It's better to stop editing when getting one, because no one is going to take you seriously. You're branded. Admins will ignore you, make offensive remarks and will reward the ones who provoke you. You're an outcast, no matter how good and well-sourced your edits are. I refuse to accept that.

I just noticed you reverted my edit (your reversion has been unreverted in the meantime.) Apparantly you took issue with my comment "presumably corrected". I try not to claim things I am not 100% sure of, therefore the "presumably". I am not sure that the word "rollmops" is German, but I ''am'' sure that the little evidence I was able to find supports this, whereas I was unable to find support for a dutch origin. Thanks for uploading ''']'''. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to '''permissions-en@wikimedia.org'''.

This user has lost faith in the project and left Misplaced Pages. |
Misplaced Pages is no longer about who is right or wrong. It's not about discussing, referencing and accepting one was wrong. It's about blocks, personal attacks and lies.
It's better to stop editing when getting one, because no one is going to take you seriously. You're branded. Admins will ignore you, make offensive remarks and will reward the ones who provoke you. You're an outcast, no matter how good and well-sourced your edits are. I refuse to accept that.
I've loved editing Misplaced Pages. With over 8500 edits, dozens of articles and media to show for it, but enough is enough. I demand to be treated as a human being and I will not lower myself anymore. Enough is enough.
I'm leaving Misplaced Pages, standing by every edit I ever made here wether on an article or on a talk page, and denying the admins the pleasure of banning me.

Community ban
You have been indefinitely blocked from editing in accordance with Misplaced Pages's blocking policy for repeated abuse of editing privileges. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.See Misplaced Pages:List of banned users#Banned by the Misplaced Pages community. - Jehochman 17:00, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Angusmclellan (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) has removed your name from that list. The statement there formerly said:
- Rex Germanus (talk · contribs · block log), December 11, 2007
- Community banned for repeated edit warring, point of view pushing, incivility, and use of IP sock puppets to evade scrutiny and editing restrictions. Fifteen prior blocks failed to change the behavior.
Sincerely - Jehochman 11:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please note that you remain indefinitely blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. You will remain blocked for ninety days at least. At the end of that period, you may contact me by email to discuss whether, and under what restrictions, you might be permitted to resume editing with this account. Any decision to unblock you would be subject to Jehochman's veto. Any violation of the terms that may be agreed would result in immediate indefinite blocking. Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:58, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- I will support any reasonable terms proposed by Angusmclellan. - Jehochman 12:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Frau Antje Der Spiegel.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Frau Antje Der Spiegel.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 19:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:Hr.Ms. Maassluis.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Hr.Ms. Maassluis.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Misplaced Pages:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:25, 23 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. John Smith's (talk) 12:25, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Although the drive is officially closed, existing participants can continue tagging until January 31 if they wish, with the extra tags counting towards their tally for barnstar purposes. We'd like to see what lessons can be learned from this drive, so we've set up a feedback workshop. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Shieldwall.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Shieldwall.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:Eighty Years' War
A tag has been placed on Template:Eighty Years' War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.

AfD nomination of List of terms used for Germans
An editor has nominated List of terms used for Germans, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of terms used for Germans and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:BATTLENETHERLANDS2.JPG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BATTLENETHERLANDS2.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Misplaced Pages articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly 16:31, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Marcus_van_Boxhorn.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Marcus_van_Boxhorn.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

AfD nomination of Comparison of Sinterklaas and Santa Claus
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Comparison of Sinterklaas and Santa Claus. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Misplaced Pages:Notability and "What Misplaced Pages is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Comparison of Sinterklaas and Santa Claus. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:29, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Dutch-Americans.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Dutch-Americans.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Misplaced Pages's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly 08:49, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
