::I do apologize if you felt weirded-out by my emotional comment- I understand why Apau did what they did. However, you should know what made me feel uncomfortable was the false accusation, not the investigation itself. I did not like being called a sleeper agent or whatever it was, nor being considered the same person as someone like Shery. Some people cannot take jokes, others being shouted at, and I guess my weakness is false accusations. Note that in my investigation I called Shery’s self-declared IP sock highly abusive for false accusations, and not disruptive editing. If I myself have made any false accusation against anyone on Misplaced Pages without realizing, then I retract and apologize. Know furthermore, my life is busier now than a few weeks ago, and if you see me no longer editing in the future it is not because of what has happened between me, Shery and Apau. ] (]) 15:53, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

== Hoaxing? ==

Hi, HoI. I came across a {{tl|db-hoax}} nomination, tagged by ], of ]. Looking at author {{noping|Nuraddin historys13}}'s other contribs, and noting a past hoax deletion by ] of ], the most likely reading to me is that everything by this user is a hoax, and then the ostensible conflict many are a part of, ] (recently created by {{np|Astroteric}}) also seems suspect... But I will concede I have little expertise in this topic area and I recognize the possibility that all the offline cites are legitimate and there's just no English sources on the Web. Could I ask your expert opinion? <span style="font-family:courier"> -- ]</span>&#91;]&#93; <small>(])</small> 22:58, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

Oh hey there,So directly to the topic which I want you to help me please they guys @Farswal which trying various attempts to vandalised the article can you please try to reinitiate the all edit to its stable version, for this time than soon I will report him for further expedition, if necessitated thanks and regard The main objective is ] and ] thanks alot if you find my message!! ] (]) 00:49, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
:Hi Tamzin. Majority of the citations in ] doesn't strike to me as ] (eg citation 1 is by ], not even a historian. Citation 9 and 10 seem to be primary sources.). The cited "The Rise of the Wahhabi Movement and its Impact on the Arabian Peninsula", allegedly by ], doesn't even seem to exist.
:The cited ''Wahhabism: A Critical Essay'' is attributed to a completely different person for some reason. I took a quick look at the source, since it should certainly mention this event now its only about the Wahhabists. However, I didn't find anything. In fact, the only sort of war that the source talked about was with the Ottomans (i.e. the ]). ''Iran at War: Interactions with the Modern World and the Struggle with Imperial Russia'' by ] has a chronology table for important events in the period 1808–1811 (pages 151-153), which doesn't mention any Iranian conflict with the Wahhabis, but it does mention the Wahhabi War again as "Ottoman Saudi-Wahhabi War".
:In other words, yep, seems like a hoax. ] (]) 00:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
::Thanks so much, HoI. Does this analysis hold for ? If so, I'll probably ] and block NH13 and take Astroteric to SPI. I guess ] will need AfD since ] challenged the PROD there, unless they feel otherwise per your analysis above. <span style="font-family:courier"> -- ]</span>&#91;]&#93; <small>(])</small> 00:29, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
:::I wouldn't rule out the possibility that some of the events happened in some sort of way. But with not one single proper citation, I'd say its better to be safe and delete them (or least draftify), also due to ] concerns. All these articles seem very identical with many of the Middle Eastern conflict related articles that have been created by new, red userpages these past years. ] (]) 01:04, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
::::Hmm. If it's at all borderline, probably best to run this all through AfD. Would you like to or should I? I'll start an SPI either way. <span style="font-family:courier"> -- ]</span>&#91;]&#93; <small>(])</small> 01:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
:::::I'll gladly start the AFDs. ] (]) 01:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
:::Hello to you both! I contested the PROD because I saw some references in the article and they seemed legit then, so I thought the attempt to delete the article came from some naming POV issue with the also new user who nominated it. I have no real opinion on the subject matter and if this is a hoax, nuke away and my apologies. Cheers, ] (]) 02:01, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

: Thank you for notifying me, {{u|Tamzin}}. I spent quite a while checking this account's editing history. I came to the conclusion that everything I checked was hoaxes. Some supposed sources don't seem to exist, some exist but are certainly not reliable sources, some exist but have no connection at all to the subjects of the articles, etc etc... I also made my own searches for information about the subject of the articles. In some case I found nothing at all, in other cases only wikis, social media sites, etc etc... I was close to the borderline for blocking and looking into how many pages should be deleted (thinking it might be all of them) when I decided it was too far past bedtime, and I would leave it until tomorrow (i.e. today). Unfortunately, for reasons I won't bother to go into, I hadn't got back to it until I saw Tamzin's notification. However, having read the discussion above, and seeing that I'm not the only one to think this is a serial hoaxer, I am spurred on to take action now.
:I don't know what is going on, but I see Farshwal has once again removed sourced info with no edit summary, so I've reverted them. ] (]) 00:52, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
: I must say that this person has put in an enormous amount of work in making all of the hoaxes look convincing, with fake references and so on. What a pity they didn't choose to put that amount of work into constructive editing instead. ] (]) 15:36, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello, HistoryofIran.
== Ghurid madhab ==

The ] is engaging in disrupte editing. Neither does this IP provide sources and is POV pushing. And this IP has been warned multiple times for this on his/her talk page.

May I edit the Ghurid article and add this info? I will put the citation as well. ] (]) 03:08, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

:::Oh right, it's protected. You can make a edit request (see ]) in the talk page of the article, then someone will take a look at it. ] (]) 12:35, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi HistoryofIran,

You are absolutely right about the need for exact references regarding Siyâvush Beg Gorji. What we currently have is Siavashon (Savashon), which relates to art of Safavid. I’ve added a note to the text emphasizing that further research is necessary. Hopefully, this will encourage researchers to explore this topic in greater detail.

Hoaxing?

Hi, HoI. I came across a {{db-hoax}} nomination, tagged by CoconutOctopus, of Battle of Sulaymaniyah (1806). Looking at author Nuraddin historys13's other contribs, and noting a past hoax deletion by Rsjaffe of Siege of Baghdad (1148), the most likely reading to me is that everything by this user is a hoax, and then the ostensible conflict many are a part of, Qajar-Wahhabi War (recently created by Astroteric) also seems suspect... But I will concede I have little expertise in this topic area and I recognize the possibility that all the offline cites are legitimate and there's just no English sources on the Web. Could I ask your expert opinion? -- Tamzin (they|xe) 22:58, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

And a ping to JBW now that he's deleted the former. -- Tamzin (they|xe) 23:14, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi Tamzin. Majority of the citations in Qajar-Wahhabi War doesn't strike to me as WP:RS (eg citation 1 is by Mousa Shubairi Zanjani, not even a historian. Citation 9 and 10 seem to be primary sources.). The cited "The Rise of the Wahhabi Movement and its Impact on the Arabian Peninsula", allegedly by Routledge, doesn't even seem to exist.
The cited Wahhabism: A Critical Essay is attributed to a completely different person for some reason. I took a quick look at the source, since it should certainly mention this event now its only about the Wahhabists. However, I didn't find anything. In fact, the only sort of war that the source talked about was with the Ottomans (i.e. the Wahhabi War). Iran at War: Interactions with the Modern World and the Struggle with Imperial Russia by Maziar Behrooz has a chronology table for important events in the period 1808–1811 (pages 151-153), which doesn't mention any Iranian conflict with the Wahhabis, but it does mention the Wahhabi War again as "Ottoman Saudi-Wahhabi War".
In other words, yep, seems like a hoax. HistoryofIran (talk) 00:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Thanks so much, HoI. Does this analysis hold for the remaining articles by Nuraddin historys13? If so, I'll probably nuke and block NH13 and take Astroteric to SPI. I guess Qajar-Wahhabi War will need AfD since Coeusin challenged the PROD there, unless they feel otherwise per your analysis above. -- Tamzin (they|xe) 00:29, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
I wouldn't rule out the possibility that some of the events happened in some sort of way. But with not one single proper citation, I'd say its better to be safe and delete them (or least draftify), also due to WP:NOTABILITY concerns. All these articles seem very identical with many of the Middle Eastern conflict related articles that have been created by new, red userpages these past years. HistoryofIran (talk) 01:04, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Hmm. If it's at all borderline, probably best to run this all through AfD. Would you like to or should I? I'll start an SPI either way. -- Tamzin (they|xe) 01:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
I'll gladly start the AFDs. HistoryofIran (talk) 01:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Hello to you both! I contested the PROD because I saw some references in the article and they seemed legit then, so I thought the attempt to delete the article came from some naming POV issue with the also new user who nominated it. I have no real opinion on the subject matter and if this is a hoax, nuke away and my apologies. Cheers, Coeusin (talk) 02:01, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for notifying me, Tamzin.
I must say that this person has put in an enormous amount of work in making all of the hoaxes look convincing, with fake references and so on. What a pity they didn't choose to put that amount of work into constructive editing instead. JBW (talk) 15:36, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Comment I just nominated Qajar Wahhabid war for nomination and then saw this thread. My apologies.---Wikaviani 16:41, 22 November 2024 (UTC) &&

Hello again!

New investigation launched, by me, on guess who! HyperShark244 (talk) 08:40, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

This is oddly satisfying. HyperShark244 (talk) 08:41, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi HyperShark244. I’ll take a look in a moment. HistoryofIran (talk) 13:03, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Only 39.62.0.0/16 seems somewhat worth reporting, as SheryOfficial is still using this as recent as yesterday , as yourself also noticed. Though others seem to be using this range as well. The user account you included doesn't seem to be them, not the same patterns. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
OK. I didn’t find anything that I would consider an obvious giveaway from Apni_Baat, however I did see some suspicious things, which is why I thought it was a good idea to request for a check on them. Also would you recommend adding 182.191.0.0/16? This is the cluster of IPs behind , and recently, . HyperShark244 (talk) 15:13, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Ops, not sure why I never replied to this. Either it was too late or I forgot I guess?? I'm sorry for that. HistoryofIran (talk) 00:48, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
No worries, Shery is now back at 39.62.0.0/16 it seems. HyperShark244 (talk) 10:47, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
I see. Something is definitely off here, I'll keep an eye. Thanks for letting me know! HistoryofIran (talk) 13:19, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

Just curious

I see you all over iranian wikipedia like everywhere what is your goal exactly also that map you made of the sassanids what sources did you use? MrHappy2020 (talk) 17:16, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi again MrHappy2020. Just a hobby. I don't really recall which sources I used, though the afromentioned Rezakhani was amongst them. HistoryofIran (talk) 17:32, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
I would really like the sources for the map as i have talked with other Sassanian map makers and sometimes they agreed with you and sometimes they didnt MrHappy2020 (talk) 11:53, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, but I still don't really recall which sources I used. HistoryofIran (talk) 12:07, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
I asked you something on the Sasanian empire wiki i would like to bring back the discussion about the map on it MrHappy2020 (talk) 12:10, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

PakistanHistorian

Hey @HistoryofIran, Do you think the IP commenting at Talk:Zia-ul-Haq#Non-English scripts and IPAs in lede and infobox PakistanHistorian (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), I think they are but you have dealt with them more than me so thought should ask for confirmation and do you know an admin who is familiar with this sock and maybe be more willing to handle them effectively so I do not have to waste my time discussing their disruption and vandalism with them. Also, do you have any thoughts on the topic itself? It is a pity that I am forced to discuss with an editor who is evading their block just because they keep reverting and edit warring on multiple pages. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 15:04, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Sheriff. Definitely something suspicious, but I'm actually a bit unsure about their connection to PakistanHistorian. They have the same geolocation PakistanHistorians suspected IPs and are also interested in Punjabi related stuff. It seems they have been active in this range at least several times . I do have some thoughts about this, I've written a comment in the talk page. HistoryofIran (talk) 15:35, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Hamzeh Mirza Heshmat od-Dowleh

The article Hamzeh Mirza Heshmat od-Dowleh you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Hamzeh Mirza Heshmat od-Dowleh for comments about the article, and Talk:Hamzeh Mirza Heshmat od-Dowleh/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article is eligible to appear in the "Did you know" section of the Main Page, you can nominate it within the next seven days. Advice

Hello, HistoryofIran.

The User talk:185.146.112.192 is engaging in disrupte editing. Neither does this IP provide sources and is POV pushing. And this IP has been warned multiple times for this on his/her talk page.

I asked for an intervention in WP:AN/I, but to no avail, and for a temporary block in Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism, which was rejected as insufficient to warrant a block.

After he/she was blocked for 24 hours, this IP created an account as User talk:Ibish Agayev in order to evade the block and has resumed his/her POV pushing.

Do you have any additional advice?

Kindest regards, Moroike (talk) 16:52, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Moroike. This should hopefully do the job . HistoryofIran (talk) 17:04, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for the reply and thank you very much for the vandalism alert about this IP.
The IP's account User talk:Ibish Agayev has been permanently blocked, but the IP will almost certainly resume his/her POV pushing, once his/her 24 hour block ends.
The IP has also done the same POV pushing under different IP numbers, which you can see in the history section of the article Siege of Lankaran.
Kindest regards, Moroike (talk) 17:48, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
If they continue (which I also think is a high possibility), then a range block seems to be the best opinion - it's probably best for it to be requested through a WP:SPI. This seems to the range they're using . I would wait for them to continue before filing a SPI, so your case is taken fully serious. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:25, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. Moroike (talk) 05:28, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Edits of user 5.74.69.152

Hi there, would you please review all the other edits of this IP? I'm not really an expert in the areas where their edits have been done, but it looks like you might be. Thanks, Kiwipete (talk) 01:48, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Kiwipete. IP seems to be pov pushing, adding Persian-related stuff and removing Arab-related stuff. I've reverted the rest of their edits, best. HistoryofIran (talk) 11:29, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Farsi?

Hi HistoryofIran, long time no speak. Do you understand Farsi, or know an editor who does? At FAC we have couple of Farsi sources which we need someone to check to ensure that they match what the article says. Thanks. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:12, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Gog, long time no speak indeed. I understand Farsi, but unfortunately not its script.. so yeah. Though ChatGPT has never failed to deliver with its excellent translations when I've used it. Perhaps you could be interested in this one, @Hounaam:? You obviously don't have to reply, just thought of your nice recent edits. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Dear @HistoryofIran Thank you so much for reaching out and for your trust in me. While my specialization lies in art and culture, reviewing Persian texts and inscriptions is certainly within my expertise, and I’m more than happy to assist.
@Gog the Mild It’s always a pleasure to contribute to such meaningful work, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support the team in any way I can. Hounaam (talk) 15:10, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Jo-Jo Eumerus, @FAC coordinators: : we seem, perhaps belatedly, to have a Farsi reader. Perhaps it would be worth running the sources and text past Hounaam, even if it is just advance planning for the next FAC? Gog the Mild (talk) 16:50, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. And sources to spot check, too. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 16:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
I shall leave you, Hounaam and Amir Ghandi to it then. And many thanks to HistoryofIran for facilitating this. (If you fancy reviewing an article, you could try this one .) Gog the Mild (talk) 17:05, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
with pleasure, thanks for your trust.
Cheers! and Happy New Year! Hounaam (talk) 17:21, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

Siyâvush Beg Gorji

Hi HistoryofIran,

You are absolutely right about the need for exact references regarding Siyâvush Beg Gorji. What we currently have is Siavashon (Savashon), which relates to art of Safavid. I’ve added a note to the text emphasizing that further research is necessary. Hopefully, this will encourage researchers to explore this topic in greater detail.

Best regards, Kanahmad (talk) 14:29, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Kanahmad. Sorry, but that's not good enough. We need to cite (WP:CITE) WP:RS that supports our additions. Best. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:39, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi HistoryofIran,
Thank you for your reply. I think that reaching out to researchers and sharing this topic is a great idea. It’s also worth noting that another Georgian painter, who is buried in Zavarek, might be a relative of Siyâvush Beg Gorji. He served as both a painter and a military commander under Nader Shah.
Best regards, Kanahmad (talk) 14:48, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
