A pro-democracy lawyers' group claimed more than 100 people died in the town of Kabkabiya District while Emergency Lawyers said hundreds of others were wounded. They accused the Sudanese army for conducting the strike but the army said these were false accusations by pro-Rapid Support Forces political groups.
