Exotic Animal World, formerly Butterfly World, is a zoo in Klapmuts, South Africa. The zoo was founded by Esther van der Westhuizen under the name Butterfly World in November 1996. It was originally called Butterfly World, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it became impossible to continue importing butterfly pupae and so it was renamed to Exotic Animal World. The zoo is home to a variety of exotic animals, such as spiders, snakes, monkeys, meerkats, scorpions, many species of birds and much more. In March 2023, a fire destroyed the care centre of the zoo. The adjacent enclosures were unaffected by the fire, and the birds and animals in them were unharmed; however, the centre's infrastructure was severely damaged.
