|
In Al-Tamhid, Ibn Abd al-Barr elaborates on Imam ]'s Al-Muwatta', but organizes it differently. Instead of following Imam Malik's original order, he arranges the work by the chains of transmission (]) according to the names of Imam Malik's teachers, from whom he narrated the hadiths in Al-Muwatta'. Ibn Abd al-Barr groups the hadiths of each narrator into separate sections, sorting them alphabetically. He provides biographical information about the narrators, verifies the hadiths, and offers linguistic and jurisprudential explanations. Furthermore, he discusses the views of scholars and jurists. |

|
The book focuses exclusively on hadiths directly attributed to the prophet ], whether they are connected (]), disconnected (]), suspended (]), or attributed to ], omitting the opinions and narrations included in Al-Muwatta' that are not directly linked to the prophet. Ibn Abd al-Barr dedicated more than thirty years to the composition of Al-Tamhid.<ref>] - ]</ref><ref>] - ]</ref> |
