With respect to Wikification, there are whole sections with no wikilinks whatsoever. That's not normal in a Misplaced Pages article. With respect to references, there are really no citations to the references. It is not adequate to merely list sources. The information has to be cited to the sources. See ]. (Note: the problem is with the "anybody can edit" method of Misplaced Pages. An article cited only at the end when written may be changed by others. Therefore, all information needs to be footnoted so that future editors can verify which information came from which source, to prevent the information from being changed while leaving the implication that the information came from one of the cited sources.) ] (]) 22:00, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

I believe Saul Rosen is definately more credible than such as Adam Rosen, Founder of the Miami Gay-Straight Alliance Corps, Facilitator of JCC Rainbow Fund, Axel Rosen, who doesn't even have a wikipedia page, Dan Rosen?, a few RABBIs... I'm just telling you how absurd it is how a multimillionare and one of the largest car firms in the UNITED STATES Cannot have his name listed in one of the famous rosens! ] 19:58, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

You were right about the "no personal attacks" policy, which I violated on the Elton John page. Thanks for reminding me. Keep up the good work! Also, would you like to guess what I stuck up my butt today? ] 11:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

==Porteous==

Thank you for your kind response. I was not at all assuming bad faith in reverting the notability tag. I simply disagree as to the question of notability. Porteous was a viable candidate in a high-profile race; she was one of the first minor party candidates (along with Fiona Byrne in Marrickville) in state history to be given a chance of a lower house victory. A search of newspaper archive ] turns up quite a few more press mentions both in the context of that campaign and in her role as a councillor, and I'd argue that that criterion is met. Still, my view has no more merit than yours, so if you wish to seek a consensus for deletion, feel free. :) ] 04:10, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

==Bill Haley==
That is a great site! Vielen Dank! It always amazes me that Europeans seem to know more about our music that we do. Would you think about some text for that link such as "auf Deutsch" but has great photos even if you can't read German? I guess that's what the dt is? And so much other stuff! I will be back there! ] 19:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

==Errol Flynn==
Thanks for your comment. As I mentioned, LC Robson who was headmaster at the time (during the 1920s) struck Flynn's name from the official register. I formerly attended the school and worked in the school archives and there is photographic evidence of Flynn prior to his expulsion. Additionally, the story of Errol Flynn and the manner of his expulsion is one of the enduring school "legends" passed down from generation to generation (which is not difficult given that mayny sons follow their fathers and grand-fathers to the school, and cetain members of staff had been employed there for up to 40 years). Regrettably though, short of visiting the school archives, there is nothing I am going to be able to produce for Misplaced Pages.--] 11:59, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Subsequent to this, I have managed to find one reference to Errol Flynn attending the school. Please see the article in question. Kind regards. --] 12:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

::::Well YMMV (never actually seen the source ad for this but apparently its a saying?). You warned them after their first edit, which was to a film produced by their company but was not otherwise objectionable. However several hours ''after'' your warning they made a series of further mainspace edits to remove criticism of the film. These edits were more clearly promotional than their first innocuous change for which the warning was given. I can't guarantee they saw your warning, so maybe they still believed there was no problem with promotional edits. Either way a block seemed necessary to prevent continued promotional changes and to force their attention to the talkpage request that they change their name. Hence the block. As with the Kepri Estates guy, a name change and some indication that they understand wp:COI and possibly wp:paid would be enough to secure an unblock.

::::And again, thanks again for reposting the RfC, and hopefully it ends up with a clear consensus on any changes to UAA policy. I've supported the idea of advice to admins not to reflexively impose no-warning blocks on accounts whose only edits are to draft or userspace (option 1), but ofc that's not where this or the Kepri Estates guy's editing occurred. -- ] (]) 06:05, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

@Beeblebrox: thanks for posting this. Will be good to get this settled. Wouldn't apply to either of the recent examples we were discussing, as both were making promotional edits in article space. But worth establishing consensus on the overall principle. -- Euryalus (talk) 22:34, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
The Rock line guy's edits, while clearly in an area where their username implies a COI, did not seem particularly promotional in nature to me, which is why I went for discussion. El Beeblerino 22:44, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
Well YMMV (never actually seen the source ad for this but apparently its a saying?). You warned them after their first edit, which was to a film produced by their company but was not otherwise objectionable. However several hours after your warning they made a series of further mainspace edits to remove criticism of the film.
And again, thanks again for reposting the RfC, and hopefully it ends up with a clear consensus on any changes to UAA policy. I've supported the idea of advice to admins not to reflexively impose no-warning blocks on accounts whose only edits are to draft or userspace (option 1), but ofc that's not where this or the Kepri Estates guy's editing occurred. -- Euryalus (talk) 06:05, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
As a mild addendum, I agree with your RfC comment that If they ignore the concern and keep editing, especially if they add more promotional content, the discussion attempt has failed and a block is justified and uncontroversial. This succinctly describes the Rockline Entertainment scenario. -- Euryalus (talk) 20:24, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
