| Palm Desert Middle School has four bands. Cadet band practices basic instruments. It is mostly for beginners. The Jazz band on the other hand performs at the assemblies and the two pep rallies. Concert band is mostly a training group, but they perform at the program's quarterly concerts. Panther Band is the school's main band and competes in competitions and performs. Color guard is an auxiliary unit that visually enhances the overall production for Panther Band parades. When it's not marching season, the Color Guard performs to recorded or live music in gymnasiums where they receive a score based on general effect, ensemble analysis, individual movement analysis and individual equipment analysis. The Panther Color Guard is one of the top Jr. High programs in California. | |||
