Our Own English High School Dubai initially started with 400 students and a few teachers. Since then, it has mushroomed into one of the largest educational institutions in the UAE, with over 9000 students and 350 teachers. Till 2005, it followed a split shift pattern, with girls and the kindergarten attending school in the morning and the boys attending the school in the afternoon. At the beginning of the academic year 2005 (i.e March 2005), the boys' school shifted to Al Warqa'a, a far-flung locale. This allowed the boys' school to be run in the morning as well. Since then, the Al Warqa'a branch has been semi-autonomous of the main branch, with its own principal. | |||
