This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Video games. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. Gameplay of Dragon Quest

This is the same scope as Dragon Quest, which already covers the gameplay of the series, including its history and its reception. This takes many of the same sources, and writes a worse article that focuses more on material that violates WP:VGSCOPE and WP:GAMEGUIDE. There is a consensus at the Video Games WikiProject that we shouldn't create this type of WP:REDUNDANTFORK, since there is nothing here that isn't covered at Dragon Quest. • Delete The gameplay itself does not seem to have been widely discussed by reliable sources and therefore fails WP:GNG. I do wonder about our similar article Gameplay of Overwatch, whose gameplay has been discussed at length, but apparently only by gaming magazines and similar sources. Redirect to Dragon Quest. While I would normally argue delete, deletion removes many viable redirects which are valuable targets. After the recent Gameplay of Pokémon AfD, I had to recreate many redirects that are genuinely useful search targets that got caught in the cross-fire of the article's deletion. Additionally, the redirect helps if anyone is, for some reason, wanting particular information on the Dragon Quest series's gameplay. Fails WP:NCORP; I'm unable to find more than a passing mention of this defunct retailer. It's mentioned briefly at the two references (first can be found in IA circa 2006), but not at a level passing WP:SIGCOV. In general that appears to be the pattern: a mention that someone worked there, or that someone bought something from there, but not substantial information on the company itself. ~ A412 16:45, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Non-notable per WP:GNG. French kickstarted MMO that seems to have been in open alpha for some time with no real routine or review coverage. It looks like there is some broadcast French interviews with the developers which are WP:PRIMARY sources and not very helpful for notability. Fails WP:GNG. No significant coverage for this series or "multimedia project". Even if you see this as a list, it seems to fail WP:NLIST. Only thing I found were articles about a Battlefront 2 update adding a Republic Commando character to the multiplayer mode: , . A list of webcomics. The ancient last AfD had one keep vote for lack of rationale. There are two separate articles on minigames, My Game About Me: Olympic Challenge and Tasha's Game. • I was going to propose merging the small-scale games into this article, but I am exceedingly frustrated at how few of our sources on those actually even mention the source material for them. The Comics Alliance source seems like the most solid one here, but that doesn't carry an article. I got nothing on Double Fine Action Comics in my books either, and sadly I've become incapable of searching the web due to changes to google, so I will have to concur... Top esports player who lacks significant coverage to prove notability. The profiles from Red Bull and ESPN are a good start, but the rest are either web articles of questionable reliability or independence (theScore eSports, EventHubs, G2 Esports) or routine coverage of changes in teams / sponsorships. This biography of a living person was published with no sources, and is promotional and unencyclopedic in tone but has citations now.A ProQuest search yields 11 hits, all of which are brief mentions of her as a collaborator with Toby Fox and contributor of artwork to his video game, Undertale. A Google search yields more, but these do not meet Misplaced Pages standards for reliability (see WP:RELIABLESOURCES) and do not contribute to notability in the Misplaced Pages sense. Redirect to Escaped Chasm. I've done source searching for her in the past out of curiosity regarding if she could have an article or not. She's not notable, and I don't think an argument could be made for her to pass WP:NARTIST either. • Keep Meets WP:NCREATIVE #3 as she played a major role in co-creating Undertale as its lead artist and concept artist, which some might call one of the best known indie games ever made without hyperbole, as well as Deltarune with a similar role.   This is completely wrong. Temmie is not regarded as a co-creator of Undertale, and she is only discussed as the artist for that game on the Undertale article (where she is covered in one sentence of the articles body). I also don't think NCREATIVE is valid here because of WP:INHERITED, due to the aforementioned lack of commentary about Temmie Chang's role in the game. • Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. The subject passes Misplaced Pages:Notability (people)#Basic criteria, which says:

  People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.

  • If the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability; trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not usually sufficient to establish notability.

The article's tone is very positive about Temmie Chang. The article notes: "Temmie Chang was born on April 2, 1993, in Brooklyn, New York. This means that the talented animator is 27 years old as of 2020. The name Temmie was her grandmother's nickname. There is not much information about Temmie Chang’s parents and childhood. However, it is known that she graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York, which is a senior, private non-profit learning centre. Temmie graduated from the institution with a degree in 2D animation. This must have been the stepping stone to her remarkable career achievements in graphic designing and animation."

  There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow Temmie Chang to pass Misplaced Pages:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

The other sources I found were passing mentions. Tuko.co.ke has not been discussed at Misplaced Pages:Reliable sources/Noticeboard so it is unclear whether it is reliable. In my research, the website shows signs of reliability based on Misplaced Pages:Reliable sources#News organizations. The website has editorial oversight and editorial standards. The website publishes corrections like this one. Tuko.co.ke has been cited in numerous books such as The Oxford Handbook of Kenyan Politics (Oxford University Press), Kenyan, Christian, Queer: Religion, LGBT Activism, and Arts of Resistance in Africa (Penn State University Press), Understanding the Higher Education Market in Africa (Taylor & Francis), To be Or Not to be: Sudan at Crossroads: a Pan-African Perspective: a Black African Nation Undone by the Ideology of Islamo-Arabism (Mkuki na Nyota), Doing Business in Kenya: Opportunities and Challenges (Taylor & Francis), and Digital Kenya: An Entrepreneurial Revolution in the Making (Palgrave Macmillan). Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism says on page 156, "Traditional media houses also face competition online from digital-born websites such as Tuku.co.ke, which reaches around 70% of our online sample each week. Much of its content is focused on entertainment and gossip attracting a younger audience. Tuku.co.ke a gossip website and one of many on the Internet generating clickbait about living people with headlines like the one you've found here ("10 things you didn't know about $LIVING PERSON"). We can take it to the reliable sources noticeboard if you want, but I will remove it from the article for now, as it doesn't seem right for Misplaced Pages to be legitimizing these gossip/spam sites in biographies of living persons per WP:BLP. • Changing !vote to keep per WP:HEY. Easily meets WP:BASIC between her biography in the Third Editions book (found by Cunard) and multiple reviews of her own "solo" games in independent secondary sources, including Escaped Chasm and Dweller's Empty Path. All the subjective and unverified information has now been removed from the article, and all the facts that are there have citations. Additional personal details could be added with great care if they can be verified per WP:ABOUTSELF, adhering to the basic rules of WP:BLPSOURCES. Fails WP:GNG. I am unable to find significant coverage in reliable, secondary sources. The few sources I did find, like IGN and Engadge are trivial mentions of a couple of paragraphs each, and they attribute a forum post as their source. As far as I can tell, there are unfortunately no sources from when the subject was alive. That's why I was wondering as the Edge article on the page is no where near meeting WP:ORGCRIT. The gi.biz is an industry publication so while it meets ORGCRIT, it is still not enough and not that strong of a reference to meet NCORP standards. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:15, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

• Delete fails NCORP. No significant coverage. The Edge article is questionable as a reliable source. In any case, the coverage in that article is about the story of a person, not the company.
