<div style="-moz-column-count:2; -webkit-column-count:2; column-count:2;">
I noticed that you deleted the article that I wrote about Science 451. Now, I can somewhat understand it; if all groups that could be considered influentual on all scenes are to be listed, it would be a very long list, and the question is whether it's not better to use specialist sites like CSDb and Poüet for this.

On the other hand, it certainly qualifies measuring by the standars displayed by the groups listed under Category:Demo group. Several of the groups listed there are groups that had a very limited impact on the scene as a whole, or their particular scene.

<div style="-moz-column-count:2; -webkit-column-count:2; column-count:2;">
My recommendation would be to delete '''all''' entries on that page, except for a few warez-group that had media coverage (Fairligt, Razor 1911, THG) and maybe just have a list of known groups on one page (or maybe skip that entirerly)

If you intend to keep the category, and a majority of the entries listed there, it is my opinion that the Science 451 page should be put back. When I wrote it I made sure to make it similar in layout and style to several other pages, to make it NPOV.

Ok, thanx, but that wasnt my point. My point was that '''All of them''' should be removed. There's no point in having a "demo group" section, with a lot of entries, if there is no standard for which entries should be there and which should not. Right now it's completely random and seems to mostly be related to which articles gets flagged for delation. (And yes, I am a bit annoyed that the two articles that I wrote, who were more relevant then several articles still remaining, were deleted, but if it leads to some kind of standard being set it's not completely in vain) ] 21:28, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

You deleted the article titled ] that I started. It is a non-profit that worked for and helped create the page because it ties to ] article on Misplaced Pages.
:The standard is if they have multiple independent ]. Every article that does not present them, or does not assert significance other than existing, will end up deleted. It may be random in selection, but it's certainly not random in deletion.-] 02:49, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

== ''The Misplaced Pages Signpost'': 5 July 2010 ==
Which is why I claim that all of them should be deleted (once again, with the exception of those warez groups that got media coverage, but that media coverage relates to their warez activities, not their demoscene activities). I '''did''' check what kind of sources the other articles had '''before''' I wrote my (now deleted) articles, and they cited references such as the groups webpages, CSDb (Commodore Scene Database) and Poüet (a scene-related site) and provided such references for the groups that I added. If that isnt good enough for the groups that I added, then it's not good enough for the groups that remain, and thus they should all be removed. Granted, I didnt check '''all''' of them (maybe 60-70%), but those I checked had no other sources. So, the end question would have to be; does Misplaced Pages want to have separate entries for demoscene, and what kind of sources are considered reliable in that case. To my knowledge, CSDb is the biggest and most reliable source for demogroups on the c64. (And yes, clearly I am a bit annoyed that all articles that I wrote are deleted, but no other, and that the deletion process seems very random, but I am trying to primarily keep this discussion on a general level, i.e. what should be the selection criteria in this case, and what is considered reliable sources) ] 10:51, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

<div style="-moz-column-count:2; -webkit-column-count:2; column-count:2;">
:On a general level, a source is considered reliable and non-trivial if it is independent of the subject, if its focus is the subject, and if it has editorial oversight. Generally, directory-type sites are not accepted as reliable source. I'm going to look through the category of demo groups either tomorrow or the day after (it's a national holiday weekend here). I'm also going to ask over at ] and see if they have any suggestions.-] 02:47, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm a little puzzled--why did you move the page into user space-- do you really think it has no assertion of importance.> that saying someone is a professor at UC Irvine isn't at least a ''claim'' to importance? I'd have appreciated it if you had left a message for me first. I'm not saying he's necessarily important, but that speedy requires merely an assertion. I see no reason to assume the article was necessarily created by the subject--it seems rather to be by a member of his family. Thanks,
:Images on Misplaced Pages are meant to be redistributed for free- images off of websites are almost always copyrighted, and they specifically prohibit free redistribution. Sometimes, you run in an article that absolutely needs an image, and no free image can be found- this is for stuff like corporate logos, posters, album covers, etc. In this case, you use a ] along with ]. Note that this is only valid if it is absolutely impossible to recreate the image (ie, it is a photo of a dead person, or a photo of a historical event or something). Hi, we corresponded a few years ago when I attempted to revise the Misplaced Pages entry for The New York Botanical Garden. I work there in the Communications department and have received numerous comments about inaccuracies and missing information in the entry.
== Deletion of article about Dhodia, ==

Back in 2008 I had attempted to add "facts about the Garden" to the main entry but it was rejected, and I was told it would be best as a linked document.

But what can I do, as an inexperienced wiki contributor, to revise the entire entry to better reflect the full scope of the Botanical Garden in science, education, exhibitions, and living collections?
Dear Wafulz I appriciate your efforts for implementing copyright law in Misplaced Pages, But I still doubt, how one can delete description about a social community. Just for example, say... you have to write about "Americans" , now if some body says "George bush is president of US", or say " Red Indian lives in california" . This kind of statements doesnt violet any copyright. IF you see article about dhodia (Which you have deleted).. basically it is name of a tribal community within India which is loosing its identity day by day, and my efforts were to just make people aware about that community. I am still new for submitting article in wikipedia, but if you search scholar.google.com you can find few articles by me.
It is being requested to advice me ...what to do? Shall I re write?
Pls Respond

I have uploaded the page. Please make any suggestions.

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
Thanks for your help!{{unsigned|Yichen123}}

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (], guidelines for use at ]). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was <code>true</code>. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to <code>false</code> in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.
:I've taken a look, and I had to do some work.

For well-established users such as yourself there is ''']''' involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
:#Lists of contacts are never included in any type of article, so I've removed them
:#I had to remove a lot of promotional terms like "leading", "fastest-growing", "thriving", "prestigious" etc. I worked in a marketing department when I started editing on Misplaced Pages, so I know it can be tough to suddenly switch the way you write. These types of terms are inherently biased, so per ] and ], I've removed them.
:#I removed the links to each section of the website. The website should at most be linked twice- once for the infobox at the top, and once for the "External links" section at the bottom
:#I rearranged the article. On Misplaced Pages, articles on companies are supposed to start off with the history section, and then they describe what the company does. In general, articles are supposed to give history, context/importance, and then awards, in that order- this is for every type of article, from biographies on athletes to descriptions of zoos.
:#I provided inline citations to help clean up the article a bit.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of ], ] (]) 20:20, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
:As it stands, the article seems to provide enough ] and is written in a non-promotional tone. If you'd like, I can move it into the article space and make it an official article.--] 01:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

==Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity==
HI,
{{ {{#ifeq:|{{void}}|void|Error:must be substituted}}|Inactive admin}}
]
Following a ] in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. Requesting Guidance for correcting a Misplaced Pages entry

Hi, we corresponded a few years ago when I attempted to revise the Misplaced Pages entry for The New York Botanical Garden. I work there in the Communications department and have received numerous comments about inaccuracies and missing information in the entry.

Also, how can I make the corrections without having them rejected or altered again?

Thank you for any help you can provide. My email address is nleshi@nybg.org and my work number is 718.817.8658.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:20, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Truagh

I know this was four years ago but was that Truagh article you deleted on the 02:54, 26 September 2007 about the townland in southeast County Clare in Ireland or was it entirely different?

Sorry I'm just trying to do a lot of the unwritten articles on locations in County Clare and I'd just like to know the reason for deleting it was.

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Thank you for uploading File:James Lloyd Turner.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Misplaced Pages may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. Proposed deletion of Blessed Sacrament Elementary School

The article Blessed Sacrament Elementary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page is not needed, and should be deleted.

1st Reason, 2 of the "links/articles" don't even exist. 2nd Reason, because the 2 other articles don't exist this page is not needed, and could be replaced with a simple redirect.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Venkat International Public School

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Venkat International Public School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. चंद्र शेखर (talk) 07:45, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
