This is a clear A1 speedy delete candidate. I will leave this talk page, but I will delete the article. A predicate nominative is a ''fact'' and not an article. An article contains discussion, context, history, and not a mere statement of a single fact. "Moby Dick is a novel" is not an article. ] 18:46, 20 July 2007 (UTC) | |||
:Eugene, this is ''still'' on the edge. We all feel in our hearts that it's a significant place/organizational center, but that feeling has to be borne out in our page. I do not know anything about ''Eugene Onegin,'' but I feel sure that there is a lot to say. Having an article that says, "This is a major work of literature" really wouldn't be acceptable to retain, nor would it represent work that would need to be preserved under GFDL. It would be, instead, a placeholder -- reserving a spot and ''marking it'' without the benefit of any real writing. It is in fact because we ''should'' honor our authors that we ''shouldn't'' preserve predicate nominatives as if they were writing. They're not. ] 16:58, 21 July 2007 (UTC) |
