I know all about the "wrong version" argument and all, but I wish you'd protected it on a version which doesn't unnecessarily waste server resources by incorporating that meta-template ]. Hi - I've just discovered your stub template {{tl|Cuba-stub}}. In the case of Cuba-stub, in one month only three articles were put into the category, and of them two were geo-stubs not general stubs (and as such should have been stubbed with {{tl|caribbean-geo-stub}}, as there are far too few cuban geography stubs to warrant a separate category). I edited another page to correct inaccuracy; I didn't see your messages yet. I didn't mean to vandalize anything; I must have thought that EVERYONE could edit pages. Still, I am sorry for my actions, and I promise to edit pages only when I have signed up as a member.

Sincerely, the Vandalizer you warned on June 6

EDIT: Oh, after checking up on the rules, I realized that I had not been doing anything wrong; it's okay for anyone to edit pages. I guess I got a message intended for someone else. My mistake.

Still, I will not vandalize anything; I will only edit to add new information or to correct wrong information.

== French nobility ==

hi dan,
well that´s what I would like to know as well? the Count of Paris is listed as Comte de Paris, as is the Duc de Berry and the Duc de Broglie. It´s '''vicomte Cavaignac''' and not Vicsount Cavaignac, and '''princesse des ursins''' and not Princess of Ursins. which is fine, because they are French and have french names and titles. If you also look at Karl Ritter von Ghega, the name is kept in German, and not in english. because in english, the translation would make no sense (Charles Knight of Ghega?). So what is the policy here? I moved them in order for the listing to be consistent. My opinion is that this is an english-language website, but Misplaced Pages is all about authenticity, right? Then the authentic name would be in the original language. Just like everyone is learning english, english-speakers would do well to learn the native written way and name as well... ] 09:10, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi Dan,

Thanks for that. I remember the image and rather liked it. When I said quality, I meant file quality not photographic (style) quality. The file seems noisy to me. Especially near the front of the car it seems pixelated or fuzzy or noisy (i can't really explain it). It's most evident in the black at the bottom of the page. My other concern is the lack of detail on the figure (the main subject). I can't really see the figure's face and because of the angle. Welcome back!

Welcome back Rdsmith4, long time no see! If you are in need of some of the "lesser" rights related tools feel free to drop me a note - or you can go visit WP:PERM to see what's changed. Happy editing, — xaosflux 02:53, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Thanks mate! Hope you've been well. Gosh, the permissions system is quite a bit more fine-grained than I recall. Well, not having them all is already making me itchy, but I think I'll make do for now. :-) Dan 05:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

A belated (so belated you seem to have gone again) welcome back from me. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 14:44, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Princess Michael

The article Princess Michael has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Princess Michael of Kent is clearly wp:primary. Delete per WP:2DABS.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Nevéselbert 18:01, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for quality articles such as Max Mosley, for beginning articles such as Montserrat Caballé and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, fo categories such as Formula One Grands Prix, for service from 2004, including later admin and bureaucrat service, for "I remain entirely attached to the project and committed to its aims", - Dan, repeating (24 October 2008): you are an awesome Wikipedian!

ITN archives

Hi. I hope you are doing well. I am glad to tell you that Misplaced Pages:In the news/Posted/Archives are now fully available, with all the vandalism/disruptive edits removed. While creating the bot for the archival process, I went through a lot of the older posts, you are one of the editors whose name popped quite often in ITN in "back in the day", so I personally wanted to let you know about the archives I hope you see this message someday. —usernamekiran (talk) 22:03, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
