A clue stick is a heavy cylindrical type device, typically 3 feet in length, used by IT departments to provide a clue for users that don't otherwise understand. For example, if a user places a floppy disk into a CD-ROM drive, their IT department may choose to provide this user with a clue via the "clue stick". Clue sticks are often used when an ] error or a ] situation occurs.
