It does not make sense to redirect Demographic Analysis to Demography. The methods of Demographic Analysis are used in a wide range of fields: education, historical comparative research, the study of firms, turnover and population ecology. The methods warrant their own discussion, as well as a review of the contemporary application of the methods to a variety of social scientific questions. Please do not issue redirects to pages without discussion first. Thanks. --] 18:12, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
*Hi-- I believe Dr. Clark offers a high quality introduction to the methods in question: http://faculty.washington.edu/samclark/Soc433/. Of course, many of the methods developed to answer questions of human population dynamics have been applied to other fields. Notably, firms, organizations, institutions, institutional forms; as well as turnover retention within organizations; and social networks all benefit from methods developed originally in demography. Finally, demographic analysis is not the same thing as the field of demography. Most graduate courses in demography are topically focused and the methods are applied well beyond those topics. --] 02:04, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Although UrbanDIctionary barely qualifies as a "reliable source" per WP:RS, remember that these are guidelines first and foremost. WP:VERIFY and WP:NOR are the relevant policies that apply to this issue, and the edit and sourcing that had been put in for the slang definition of Cess fall within the limits stipulated in both of these policies. In particular, my caveat is that UrbanDictionary is one of the few organizations dedicated to documenting vernacular phrases, idioms and other slang terms that have yet to be adopted by the mainstream population. When an article is edited and a definition of this type added, UrbanDictionary should be considered a reliable source. --] 15:29, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

The article ] has been ] because it appears to have no references. Under ], this ''']''' will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a ] that directly supports material in the article.
There are also some significant organizational issues with the article. The lead section, and history look very good, and could be used as a model for other sections. There are zero references in the 'human rights' section under government, which should be addressed. The 'geography' section is a bit heavy on photos and images, with little text. Plus, the section ends with just a listing of districts, with no description of their interrelationships.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see ], or ask at the ]. == '''AfroCine:''' Join us for the ''Months of African Cinema'' in October! ==
The 'demographics' section is too long, and contains much unrelated information. Remove 'and ethnicity' from the title of the section, as that should be implied by demographics anyway. The section should cover information about the population and demographic statistics only. The education information should be included in its own separate section, and it should be written as prose, too, not just a list of schools. The many subsection headers in this section are very confusing, and should eliminated. Things like language, religion, and ethnic groups, are part of demographics, but don't necessarily need their own subsection headers (unless that particular subsection is very long).

{{Ivmbox|]
The culture section is very short, and has some very short subsections. This could be expanded. It is also pretty much devoid of reference citations, which is another issue with the GA criteria.

Proposed deletion of History of Rhodesia

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article History of Rhodesia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? BScar23625 (talk) 15:40, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

US history

I am seeking to have your changes to US History article 1991-present reversed. US History articles are not based on decade ranges; they are based on historically significant turns of events. Nothing special happened in 2000 to justify this change. Please review the rest of the US history articles involved and you will see this. Hmains (talk) 17:28, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Perspicacite! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Speedy deletion nomination of Miguel Neto

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Miguel Neto requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Redsky89 (talk) 06:54, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Armed Forces / Angola

As you started the article on this topic, is there any chance of your indicating the concrete sources you used? As it stands, the article has practically to be considered as unsourced! -- Aflis (talk) 12:53, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fernando Mendonça D'Oliveira

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fernando Mendonça D'Oliveira requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Eduemoni 14:11, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Nguyên Đình

The article Nguyên Đình has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Misplaced Pages policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
