The article ] has been ] because of the following concern:
== Carlos nice to be apart of wikipedia ==
<blockquote>'''Mass-created article by C46 based on GNS (and unreliable source) and the Iranian census (which counts population around named locations that are not communities). The location in the article title is not clearly an inhabited place which makes it doubtful that ''this location'' is the one referred to in the census. The many alternative names, and the existence of another Nasirabad in the same district, raises doubt as to whether this location is Nasirabad.'''</blockquote>

Hi, | |||
The feeling is mutual (although, to be honest, I can't recall that we've disagreed on much of anything, and if we did, I'm probably wrong!) As for the present case, bigotry almost always intersects/overlaps with stupidity. I can't decide which of these evil forces is most at work here; but, the matter seems headed for the proper outcome. One wonderful consequence of Misplaced Pages's global community is that hatred is much more readily exposed and condemned here than it is in ] America. Best wishes, ] 03:08, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

You've deleted the above mentioned article because of lack of the references. Right now it's impossible to find any references, as the group hasn't been described anywhere apart from its own website. I can, however, swear that the info given is true as it's based on my own experiences. I kept it totally neutral so that it can't be considered a propaganda article or so.

== a suggestion == | |||
I you withdraw this nomination, and consider being less hasty when nominating articles for deletion in future. I have some concerns as to how deletions work on the wikipedia. I have decided to leave what I intend to be civil notes for wikipedians when I have a concern about their action in deletions.
In this case it is your hastiness that triggered my concern. Since LaMenta3 was able to expand the article so quickly, if you did any kind of web search prior to your nomination I am afraid it fell short of what the rest of us should be able to expect of nominators. Nominators let us down when they nominate articles for deletion that are then quickly rescued.
I didn't realize you were an administrator when I made my original suggestion. That shouldn't really matter though, should it? As an administrator, perhaps I should expect you to try to measure up to a higher level of accountability, because you should be trying to set an example?
I think we may have participated in some of the same discussions in the past. But I don't remember any of the details. I have tried to be civil and tactful here. If you don't find this comment civil or tactful, I failed, and you can have my apology for that.

Hi - just a friendly note to let you know that England's geography stubs now have separate templates for each county (all in the form CountyName-geo-stub). If you're going to make any more like the three Lowick stubs it would save a little work further down the line if you used them rather than England-geo-stub. It's no big deal, but I thought I'd point it out if you didn't know about the by-county templates. Cheers, ]...''<small><font color="#008822">]</font></small>'' 23:52, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
:Ah, that makes sense :) Yeah, I must admit to having done the same myself with cut & paste before now. To answer your question, no, I've never heard of Northumberlandshire, and I'm pretty sure it's never used; "-land" has a roughly similar meaning to "-shire", so it would be redundant. The only three counties with an "optional -shire" would be Devon/Devonshire, Dorset/Dorsetshire and Somerset/Somersetshire - and its archaic for the last two (it would be very rare to find either "Dorsetshire" or "Somersetshire" except in historical documents). A redirect for Devon at Devonshire-geo-stub might be useful, though. ]...''<small><font color="#008822">]</font></small>'' 00:18, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

{{clear}} | |||

|- | |||
| valign="top" | | |||
===Alice and her harasser===
Let's start with some good news: ] and the project lost the bothersome sock puppet who had been disrupting many articles we monitor, and now most of us can edit in relative peace. Congratulations, Alice, for being able to come out of semi-retirement. ], on the other hand, has gained an anonymous IP stalker who seems to be more Catholic than the Pope and who has a hard-on for the ]. We seem to have a sort of ] thing going on here, which helps both to keep us in balance and on our toes <bright smiles all around>.
===Harry Potter and his homosexual teacher===
] got ] this month, and was immediately adopted by our project. The international brouhaha surrounding this disclosure reached all the way to Wikiland, and his article was briefly locked due to homophobic vandalism (as well as well meaning editors who just couldn't believe that that nice man could possibly be gay). This is a wonderful article to add to your watchlist, and will surely give you hours of reverting fun on cold winter days.
==="My Fellow Americans"===
On a more serious note, ] has suggested a new article series about LGBT rights in the United States, state by state. This ambitious topic will surely require many editors and a lot of research, but has the potential to add further prestige to our already prestigious project.
===Same name, same sexuality: a riddle for the ages===
] (not the ], but the old gay one ... though they're actually both dead, now that I think about it) has also aroused passions here on Misplaced Pages, with editors opposing his sexuality being disclosed in his biography. The always helpful ] has thoughtfully provided any number of sources, but it is slow going getting his point across. Anyone want to lend a hand?
===Beat writer arouses Irish guy===
And speaking of passions, ] has inflamed the senses once again with editors, including administrator ], mounting a spirited defense to keep him as heterosexual as possible for Misplaced Pages purposes. Why? I don't know. Perhaps some of you can drop by the ] and ask your questions there. I feel certain a stimulating debate will ensue that will be enjoyed by all.
===Love those Texas Longhorns===
Did you know that one of our ], ], lost its shiny gold star? That was a shocker. It has been suggested that we turn our attention to it in an effort to restore it to its former glory. I took a peek, and it does need our help badly. For our American editors, it would seem almost a ] to edit it (not that I'm hinting....).
===Point and Counterpoint===
Though it was far too intellectual a debate for a mere cruise director like myself to take part in, ] was certainly a hot topic a week or two ago. The thrust of the debate was over inclusion in our project. Lots of good editors had lots of good opinions. For those too lazy to check out the discussion, we decided to leave it out for now.
===Drudgery on offer===
] is, as always, short staffed and seemingly unloved. Wouldn't you feel better about yourself and the world in general if you took a few minutes to read one of the listed articles and offer some helpful advice? I know I'd feel better if you did.
| valign="top" | | |||
==="My Fellow Americans" redux===
The article ] certainly raised eyebrows last week, especially when it was discovered that copyrighted content had been added to our article. Tragedy was averted at the last minute, though, when the original hosts of the article where the material had been pilfered agreed to make it ] Our thanks to them, whoever they are. Busy Bee that I am, I haven't had time to read it, but I'm sure it's sensational.
===This month's Wiki stars===
] (a genre close to my heart, I must confess) writer ] has decided to spice up ] this month. Why not drop by and make your opinion heard? Joining her in this lofty aspiration are the articles ''''']''''' and ''''']'''''. I'm sure their main editors would welcome any comments (well, helpful ones, anyway) on the talk pages or the FAC discussions. And lest we forget, the ] became a ] Rah rah, siskumbah! ''Go, team, '''GO!!!!'''''
===And the Oscar goes to...===
Not content to run for ], plucky Bannon won a ]... whoops, I meant to say Ann is also getting more than her share of womanly attention on the Good Article list. Joining her on this exalted plane are ], ] and ]. Good articles indeed, and the last one mentioned just goes to show that one needn't admire the subject of an article to appreciate the effort put into making him worthwhile reading. What on earth ] ever saw in him I'll never know. Truly a riddle cloaked in an enigma and wrapped around a puzzle.
=== Fresh faces to brighten our pages ===
Though I may not be the first, let me extend a warm, LGBT Love Boat welcome to the 12 new members who joined us in October: ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], ], and ]! Whatever you choose to do here, I feel sure that your contributions will enhance our project to no end. And if they don't...well, let's just say that I'm not shy.
===Leather and lace===
On a personal note, your already overworked cruise director is being cyberly whipped almost daily by ], who desperately wants to get the ] copy edited and used as a replacement for the current one. It's such a ... err, stimulating topic that I am sure many of you will want to join the copy editing fun. Jump right in, folks! It's so lonely copy editing it all by my lonesome!
===Late breaking news===
A little birdie just whispered in my ear that our noble ] was delisted from the ] due to inactivity. When asked how this scandalous turn of events could have occurred, the answer I received was "we suck at stuff like that". Well. Hello! Thanks you for deleting my hard work and time, I apologize if this article may have seemed as a “attack page” but it wasn’t, if you looked at the citations you would have seen that “Patrick” and five other assailants were involved in a white separatist gang that was planning to burn down Hunters Brooke. ::Thank you for your message. There is an debate which may interest you at ]. I remain concerned at the failure to notify the original creator or the appropriate wikiproject of the speedying. ] 18:47, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
:I found this comment highly offensive and unecessary ''"creating an article with no content other than some templates is nothing approaching high standards; from context do we know it was a tunnel, a person's name, a public house, a town, a farm, or a joke? It is not incumbent upon anyone to notify anyone about a speedy deletion, first; second, just because a wikiproject "claims" an article, it does not WP:OWN it; and third, if wikiproject Cornwall is in habit of filling in its missing spaces by adding articles that consist of nothing but two templates as above it is seriously amiss and way out of line of other wikiprojects. Carlossuarez46 18:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)"'' The original article was created by a new editor with very little experience, I believe that ] is worth bearing in mind when dealing with contributions from new editors. The new editor, obviously aware that the article needed work, approached an appropriate wikiproject to request other editors contribute, I believe that this displays good faith on his part, as well as a willingness to collaborate. As to the Wikiproject, it is entirely untrue to allege that "Wikiproject Cornwall fills in its missing spaces by adding articles that consist of nothing but two templates". The wikiproject is not claiming "ownership" of the article - but when an editor invites a wikiproject to improve an article he created it is good manners to invite that project to participate in a deletion process. I am sorry that you do not think it appropriate to invite contributions from wikiprojects, or to invite an original good-faith author to expand his stub. ] 18:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
::I do not understand your last comment at my talk page. The Cornwall Wikiproject was never given the opportunity to comment on the speedy, as whoever tagged the article for speedy did not bother telling anyone (and the page is on my watchlist, and I never saw the tag). The original editor entered the article as "needing attention" at the wikiproject - the speedying prevented attention being given. I still say - you should give more consideration to new editors, who may well be driven away by speedy deletions of articles they have created, especially when no-one has the common courtesy to explain what is happening to them. ] 19:10, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, | |||
You deleted my article on the Scottish band "Set The Tone" on the grounds of "Article about a band that does not assert significance".
I'd appreciate it if you could let me know the minimum I could put on that page in order to avoid deletion as a result of this.
At the time of writing I had been reading the page on "Love and Money", another Scottish band which already had a link to "Set The Tone", but which took you to the wrong "Set The Tone". I basically put up a bare minimum while I tried, through MySpace, to get some information from the former drummer of Set The Tone, Kenny Hyslop. While I haven't had much of a response from Kenny, he is well known in drumming circles for his experience in other bands including Simple Minds. In addition Set The Tone had two singles that reached numbers 62 and 67 of the UK top 100 charts in 1983.
I'd like to be able to build up some more detail on the band but it hasn't helped that the page has been deleted! Of course it may be that I just started it too early, but I would like to add the above information, and would appreciate it if, first of all, you could let me know if that would be enough to be going on with in order to avoid the page being deleted again, and secondly, if you could reinstate the page or provide me with the content I left there.
Thanks a lot. | |||

Thanks for your reply. I now believe I have enough information on Set The Tone to make a page that is useful. Also Kenny was in ], ] and ]. If you believe, based on that information, that I can produce a reasonably useful page I would appreciate it if you could let me know and reinstate the page so that I can update it.

I had moved some Archos pages due to ], but after further study on the , I attempted to re-move (no pun intended), or re-rename ] to ''Archos Jukebox'' as no proof of the word "series" is actually used. And then I forgot to revert the blank. Would you please reconsider the deletion of the ] article, which I believe was '''deleted in error'''. When the article was first started, I patrolled it and found that it was very short. I did find, though, that this is a baseball player who played a significant number of games in the 19th century (see ), which makes him notable. I indicated the article was patrolled at ] and tagged it as needing expansion, with the Edit comment that it was a valid article, should be expanded. Another user then added some additional tags. I then suggested to the article's creator on his ] that he expand the article. In summary, although the article is short, it has a valid place in Misplaced Pages and, when expanded, will demonstrate that. If you would '''restore the article''', it is my hope that ] will expand it. If not, I will do it myself within a week. Thanks for your time. ] (]) 19:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

(Update: Sorry, I figured out 'AFD' and I found the on the reasons for deleting the article. I guess I'm personally saddened by the deletion. To me, the brilliance of wikipedia is that I can (and will) find articles on just about any topic imaginable. Especially topics that no other encyclopedia would ever touch. Hi there. I'm not a Misplaced Pages expert so I wasn't aware that my article had ever been nominated for deletion. Proposed deletion of Nasirabad (38°29′ N 46°44′ E), Varzaqan
The article Nasirabad (38°29′ N 46°44′ E), Varzaqan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Mass-created article by C46 based on GNS (and unreliable source) and the Iranian census (which counts population around named locations that are not communities). The location in the article title is not clearly an inhabited place which makes it doubtful that this location is the one referred to in the census. The many alternative names, and the existence of another Nasirabad in the same district, raises doubt as to whether this location is Nasirabad.

Proposed deletion of Shamsabad (31°49′ N 53°45′ E), Taft
The article Shamsabad (31°49′ N 53°45′ E), Taft has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Mass-created article by C46, based on bad sourcing (GNS is unreliable, the Iranian Census includes shops/farms/pumps/factories etc.). The location in the article title appears to be Amin Farm based on the address of the local mosque. The corresponding FA wiki article declares this place to be unpopulated, which would match the name being for a transient place of business.
