Thanks for the link, but I was looking for <b>non</b> Larouche sources. See {http://members.tripod.com/~american_almanac/intro.htm#schiller} which explains that it was published in a pubication by "Larouche collaborators." Sigh. --] 22:02, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Dear Willm,<br> | |||
I think I can now see how interviewing a publisher could in some ways end up creating conflicts of interest. Obviously on the other hand, if done right, it could result in improving an article too. In my case, all of the information provided by the publisher was corroborated by already published sources that could be found elsewhere, except for their claim that 1.7 million copies of the book have been sold to date. Numerous published listings exist that there have been over 1 million copies sold, however, nowhere could I find corroborating documentation regarding the 1.7 million figure. As a result, I have reworded the article to only reflect only that ''more than a million copies have been sold to date'', and will await the publication of the 1.7 million figure elsewhere, before including it in the article. Thanks for your good suggestion and kind encouragement.<br>

Can you transfer copies of all remaining Misplaced Pages links to my Userpage, including the one concerning editing a article. I am planning to create a article in which these may be listed as some sort of directory, so that Users will not have to go all over the place to find the info. that they are requesting. The Wiki-links that I already have in my own directory have been useful. In this "Wiki Directory", I can access different Wiki-sections rapidly and easily, instead of having to go all over the place. == Cosmotheism Disambiguation Page ==
== ] == | |||
Will, I am registerd user "Oklahoma" I anonymously edited the Cosmotheism page and was banned by Mel Etitis for "Vandalism". If you look at the history you will see that what I did was not vandalism. Since then I have registerd as user "Oklahoma". The issue under dispute is whether Mordecay Nesiyahu "created the term" Cosmotheism. I gave evidence on the discussion page that he in fact did not, but Mel did not respond, he just changed it back and locked the page. Is this how Misplaced Pages is supposed to work? I think that it gives Misplaced Pages a "black eye" when someone puts up information that is demonstrably false. Could you tell me why Mel Etitis would do this? Some help in restoring truth to the Cosmotheism Disambiguation page would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, registerd user "Oklahoma"
== Mel Etitis has banned me ==
I don't believe in nonprofit organizations that meddle with money. So I am inclined to think that this is an elaborate scam. But I don't want to run around and warn morons to keep their hands off snake oil, because this is useless. I am only keeping my watch to remove really misleading statements about the nature of money in general.
Will, Mel has banned me because he thinks I am "Paul Vogel". I am not Paul Vogel. I would think he could or you could verify this. He has banned me for simply proving him wrong about who "created the term" Cosmotheism. Now he's edited the page to read "prominent user of the term". I would submit that that is nonsense. I'm not suggesting that Pierce be listed at "prominent user of the term", but he is more "prominently" connected to the term than Nesiyahu. What is Mel Etitis' motivation. Let me repeat, I am not Paul Vogel, I am the guy you had discussions with about Cosmotheism links on the white supremacy page. I am only interested in upholding truth and accuracy. I should not be banned.
Thank you, Oklahoma | |||
Thank you Oklahoma | |||
There is a very simple proof that this is scam. Money is nothing but mediator in the market, and the amount of money in circulation is nefined not the amount of gold/silver/platinum/uranium in the country, but basically by the amount of goods produced, which is orders of magnitude larger. So LD has no chance to go statewise. Also, I seriously doubt that feds will sell all their gold to NORFED. I have several ideas how this LD may work as a ], starting from the most primitive one: to declare bancrupcy when inflation reaches a convenient level, rather than to perform the promised renomination of LD. ] ] 28 June 2005 15:48 (UTC)

Hiya! Sorry if I didn't seem gentle enough in noting the bad link (I wasn't trying to be ''harsh''), the single-subject anon has been trying to insert unverified gossip into that article for weeks. Peer-review when it comes to Hollywood people can happen through stuff like a good review in Variety or Billboard, the NYT or Guardian or whatever. The book he cites in this case is widely known as a downmarket tabloid book much invented from whole cloth. The same author's done other sloppy, made-up rip jobs including a bio on Errol Flynn. It doesn't qualify as a source, my use of the term ''peer review'' in dealing with this particular anon editor is apt IMHO. == Eugenicists ==
While various people have supported or discussed eugenics favorably, the only people who I would call "eugenicists" as the first entry in their biographies would be those who have practiced eugenics (Davenport), or major theorists (Galton). Folks like Fisher or Fletcher are supporters or minor theorists and their roles as eugenicists are secondary to other occupations. It's tricky because "eugenicist" includes both those who do it and those who just talk about it. What are your thoughts? Cheers, -] July 4, 2005 22:17 (UTC)
:Good point and I agree. The latter can have eugenicist listed after their "primary" professions if any, or one can write "a supporter of ]" or something similar. Also, because of reports about the Nazi German's activities, a some notable eugenicists have tried to avoid having their names associated with eugenics. Regardless of what is the truth, labeling these people as eugenicists may bring dispute from others who are familiar with the controversy. ==Mediation==
There's a difference, will, between simply "looking over one's shoulder" and actively stalking. If you were checking my work on two, three, or four articles of common interest, and myself vice versa, it would be "looking over one's shoulder." Unfortunately your activity extends well beyond the simple checks and balances that entails and includes actively following me around wikipedia to in excess of 50 different articles on topics of all sort and nature. A great many of your attempts to edit my additions are plainly made in bad faith and aimed directly at frustrating, deconstructing, and/or removing them even when they are more than sufficiently sourced per wikipedia guidelines. It is this breach of Misplaced Pages's good faith assumption that makes stalking problematic, and the hostile environment it produces is why so many editors frown upon the practice. It should also be noted that there is ample precedent on Misplaced Pages that stalking behavior constitutes "disruptive editing" due to its breach of the good faith assumption including at least one case where an editor was personally blocked by Jimbo Wales for stalking another user with edits that were primarily minor and inconsequential yet exhibited a consistent pattern of specifically following that editor. Per Wales' decision, the stalker "was making a pest of himself by harassing" the other editor. I have addressed these concerns to you directly many times, will. I have explained and documented them in detail, and now I am seeking outside mediation to resolve them. It is unfortunate that we've come this far, but you've been completely unresponsive to my concerns and only intensified your problematic behavior as a response. Thus outside intervention has become the only alternative at this point. ] 5 July 2005 18:05 (UTC)
:As I have stated previously, I have basis to doubt that you are editing in good faith built upon the very same stalking behavior that is the subject of this dispute and that is itself a violation of the good faith assumption. The simplest way to restore mutual good faith is to cease the stalking, and if mediation can accomplish that so be it. I favor mediation on this as it was suggested prior to arbitration. What comes next is dependent upon mediation's ability to resolve this dispute, and for that to occur mediation must happen first. ] 5 July 2005 19:56 (UTC)

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. Cosmotheism Disambiguation Page
Mel Etitis has banned me
Will, Mel has banned me because he thinks I am "Paul Vogel". Thank you, Oklahoma
Thank you Oklahoma
Image Tagging Image:Cm-timessquare2.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Cm-timessquare2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 03:03, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Disambiguating Akshardham
Hi,
Some changes were made by an anonymous user User:83.67.4.89 in the Akshardham page.
The Akshardham has different perceptions in popluar media and in religious philosophy.
I have included a link to the Akshardham (Philosophy) in the akshardham disambiguation page called Akshardham Temple and redirected Akshardham to that page.
To give proper justice to philosophical meaning, the link for philosophy has been placed above temple links

Hi, I am sending this message to serious contributors who may be interested in articles related to U.S. politics. I believe I am receiving an unreasonable response-- and at times insulting and rude-- from the editors of this article, who refuse to remove a section that may offer some interesting trivia for Wikipeidia users, but is irrelevant to people interested in reading an encyclopedia article on a member of U.S. Senate. I've just been reading the Ricky Martin talk page and I have to say, I completely agree with that that other guy was saying. You came across as an idiotic and naive individual. 88.109.214.236 12:02, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Joe Smith (politician) ... Cut & Paste
Greetings, Willmcw!
In checking over the Joe Smith (politician) page, I noticed that somebody did the ol' cut & paste routine with the "Joe Smith (politician)" page and created a "Joe Smith (Missouri politician)" page while changing the "Joe Smith (politician)" into a disambiguation page ... all that without clicking on the "move" tab!
Seeing as you were the one that corrected the cut & pastes that I did as a newby back in December 2005, I figured you'd be the person I'd go to in the hopes of fixing up this situation created by somebody else!
Thanks again for your time, Will!

I note your previous contributions to the above page. Discussions are ongoing regarding the relevance of some of the page's contents, and appear to have reached a stalemate: I would appreciate your input. Please see the talk page Best, FrFintonStack 01:44, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Willmcw. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Sidious1.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Willmcw/archive5. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:50, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

There's currently another discussion about the neutrality of the article. I would welcome more input. --Milton 22:23, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Misplaced Pages Loves Art
First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject, or I happen to know personally).
I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Misplaced Pages:Misplaced Pages Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Misplaced Pages articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.
If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!
If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Misplaced Pages:Misplaced Pages Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.
Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 00:40, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Willmcw. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Willmcw~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
