'''If you have a question about a deleted article, please leave a message by You can also appeal a deletion by clicking ] and following the directions found there.

I rarely edit Misplaced Pages. When I do, it's usually to straighten out a sentence to make it more coherent. Today, I logged in and read that I had a new message - from April of 2010. What the? It's now August of 2012. The message: "Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages, you will be blocked from editing. Dlohcierekim 02:20, 7 April 2010 (UTC)"
==<font color="#FF0000"> This user welcomes RFA thank spam.</font> ==

I've no idea what this refers to, if this is glitch, the result of a shared IP address or a mis-identification of an edit. As I say, I only edit for clarity, never to gut and article, insert idiotic opinions, and I don't consider myself a vandal. If the message I received is ancient history that isn't worth looking into, that's fine by me. I'm not bothered because I'm pretty sure this is an inexplicable Misplaced Pages hiccup. Otherwise, keep on editing and keep Misplaced Pages sailing! <small><span class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 05:06, 24 August 2012 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Thanks for your support at my RfA and the well wishes. Don't be surprised if I take you up on your offer for help :-) —] (]) 01:38, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
Hello! Sorry to bother, but I wanted to get your opinion on Warnings.

:certainly]] 01:40, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
Specifically, would it make sense for me to issue a Level 1 Warning relating to inappropriate humor against an editor who made a small but sarcastic crack designed to belittle a comment I made in a WQA resolution conversation – a conversation where that editor was supposed to be offering unbiased moderation.

== Purple meteorite ==
The mediation thread is here: .
I initiated the complaint against someone that I believed was a potential troll. This person acknowledged having no knowledge of the subject prior to his posting, to which I commented that I only edit articles where I have a knowledge of the article’s subject.

The mediating editor then went to the page in question, fixed a tiny typo, but added a sarcastic comment that was designed (I believe) to ridicule my comment about subject knowledge. It is the top edit on this page: .
:LOL. I new that date looked familiar. Thanks. Purple rain sounds like a good name, right?]] 17:06, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

== ] ==
Unless I am mistaken, this is inappropriate humor designed solely to belittle my opinion -- especially when this editor is supposed to be unbiased and acting in good faith. What I wanted to know is (1) am I justified in issuing a Level 1 warning based on this, and (2) can I issue the warning directly or does a third party who is not involved in this dispute have to come in and do that?

Could I set this page up to be a redirect to ] again, or would you not recommend that given that the page has been deleted a number of times now? ]] <small>(note: not a ]!)</small> 21:40, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
I need to point out this editor issued a Level 1 warning against me at the conclusion of the mediation, but only issued a very soft message of caution against the person I saw as a perceived troll. I disputed the action, claiming the editor was not acting in good faith and showed very clear bias. The editor later acknowledged his decision was incorrect on his User page, but immediately removed that text from display when I called it to his attention.

:This was deleted 3 times so it is amenable to ]. Maybe I can restore the redirect and then protect it. ]] 21:45, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
In the scheme of things, it is incredibly small pickings. Still, I was interested in getting feedback on how to proceed.

:The user is an established vandal, and what is worst, he seems to hit wikipedia where it hurts, since such vandalism is usually overlooked. In fact I think I'm the only one who cleans up his mess. You decided to remove my report, fair enough, but what we have here now is a vandal who has been around for some four months doing the same sort of vandalism day after day and yet he gets away with it because no one can nab him right there. He'll be back tomorrow and I'll revert him, no problem really, takes a few minutes with twinkle, and then the day after tomorrow, maybe that's the way it should be, I don't know. Sure you can't check AIV 24/7, but neither can I follow the guy around. The block log comes in handy in such cases. I'd be glad to report him while he's still active, but that's quite unlikely, as I've already said, I've got some other stuff to do apart from wikipedia, and, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, I can't sit here all day waiting for him to edit/vandalize a page. == Tagging for a possible copyvio image ==

:Hello Robin. The first problem is your purpose appears to be to promote your company rather than build our encyclopedia. This is a Conflict of Interest. Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia. Content of articles needs to be supported by reliable information from sources unconnected with the subject. I cannot overemphasize this. It is the key to building the encyclopedia. The article as it sits is promotional in tone. It looks like it was taken from a corporate "about" page. It should begin with declarative sentences that show recognition of the subject, by outsiders, of it's importance, significance, notability. For instance, "George Washington was President of the United States." Please see the ] There are more specific guidelines, such as ] that pertain to businesses. == Hi ==
The user ] has removed my entire paragraph of text and replaced it with his, with no reason whatsoever. If you follow his edits, you can clearly see that he has an agenda, as he has been reverting and removing sections from articles concerning Argentine demographics all across the wiki.

I consider my original text was apropiate for the article, yet the one posted by the Dúnadan is a clear copy-paste of what he typed into ]. In both articles, ] has reintroduced the controversial UBA study that says 56% of Argentines have amerindian descent. This study has been proven wrong by many others, such as , as well as arguments explaining that the supposed "amerindian" markers analized are also present in Spanish and Galician populations, of which Argentina has plenty of descendants.

Hello
As a result, the UBA study was considered too controversial, and a consensus was reached to keep it out of the ] article. Yet this user has been adding it again, and even worse, HAS REWRITTEN MY COUNTRIBUTION WITH NO REASON WHATSOEVER, as he basically posted the same information with a different rewording.

I've made more than 500 contributions to the Wiki, with a dynamic IP, but it's pretty sad to see that so many editors are willing to side against an anonymous editor simply because he's anonymous. I guess I'll have to create a nickname for myself, even though that undermines the purpose of the Wiki itself.

:Hi Dlohcierekim. I will like to point out just a couple of points concerning 200.117's claims:
Hi there. I was wondering why you deleted the entry. It was not vandalism.] (])
: The "UBA" study, is a study conducted by the Genetics Department of the University of Buenos Aires, whose findings have been corroborated by numerous studies; these findings were also accepted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Government of Argentina., . This study has not been challenged by the Academic community, so there is no "Academic" controversy. The only controversy is that of some Wikipedian users (like the above) who happen to dislike or disagree with the results. I have invited some of them (I have never met 200.117) to provide equally reliable sources to prove that the UBA study has been "proven wrong" other than their own opinions (the link he provides is broken, and other links provided in the past related to discussion amongst geneticists of general genetic tests not on Argentina's particular case). One user actually provided the link to the Ministry of Education which ends up with the following words:
:no I'm either too stupid or too tired to edit. Profoundest apologies. It should b back now.]] 02:09, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
::"''"The information herein summarized is based on scientific observations that allow to redefine the belief in the purported European origin of all the inhabitants of the Argentine territory. According to our results, and many others, generated by different research groups in our country, we can confirm a substantial genetic contribution of the original peoples of the Americas into the current constitution of the Argentine population. Researches of this kind tend to contribute to the characterization of our country's identity in a respectful and anti-discriminatory way"'' (end of quote).
:A similar discussion took place at the Spanish Misplaced Pages with the involvement of several users. (Part of the systemic bias at the English Misplaced Pages is that there are just a few Argentine users not precisely representative of the entire population). There, the users agreed that the studies were valid, and therefore the information was not only kept at ], but a new comprehensive and very informative article was created concerning the Argentine genetic composition ].
:I will also like to point out that I did ''not'' delete his "source". In fact, his source (which happens to be the CIA Factbook) is included in the first sentence of my edits. I simply expanded and complemented the information presented.
:I will copy this paragraph to ] and ] and will welcome your opinion on the matter. I would be happy to respond any questions and participate in the debate as long as the results and consensus actually complies with Misplaced Pages's policies of ], ] and ].

Hello - I'm Baffled!

— Preceding unsigned comment added by TheStockwell (talkcontribs) 05:06, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Deletion review/Log/2012 August 27

For List of unreleased Lana Del Rey songs, can you please give me your opinion? Am I delusional or what? Because this article was deleted per WP:LISTN, but it follows WP:LISTN? So I'm 100000% confused why everyone's nominating and saying it doesn't follow policy. I honestly have absolutely no idea. You can see my comment at the bottom of the review. The reliable sources are very reliable so... I don't get it. --MrIndustry (talk) 05:01, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

It seems to be the issues are notability and sourcing. The consensus is that as a group, the items on the list are not notable. As they have not been released, they have not attained notability. No argument was successfully made that they were. Behind that is the sourcing problem. The consensus was that there is an insurmountable lack of WP:RS for the contents. The arguments for deletion were thorough and well supported. Arguments such as "valuable information" and "frequently updated" are never compelling, especially when sourcing is in doubt. The closing admin did appear to leave open the possibility of adding any items that have WP:RS to another page, though it might be best to obtain consensus on that pages talk first. Sorry I could not be more helpful. Dlohcierekim 13:24, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
But that's what I don't get, because the sources are reliable. They're MTV, ASCAP, HFA, BMI, Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Seacrest, Glamour Magazine, Huffington Post, etc. I don't get how List of unreleased Britney Spears songs and List of unreleased Michael Jackson material can be featured lists with so unreliable sources?? My whole thing was Lana still performs these songs and Britney never will/never did.--MrIndustry (talk) 15:51, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Apparently the other participants did not agree w/ your assessment of the sources. Dlohcierekim 16:43, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
I don't mean to sound rude/condescending to them, but would they like it written in the constitution? Because Hollywood Reporter, MTV, and Huffington Post are some of the top news sites in the world. If they're not reliable then I don't know what sources are. --MrIndustry (talk) 17:59, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi. How should we continue I and Jc37 continue an attempt at resolving our editorial conflict if the page is blanked? Nightscream (talk) 04:51, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

(Note, for clarification, I was merely asked for a 3PO. The Vanished user and NS are having the conflict, or rather were, since the user has, well, vanished...) - jc37 06:16, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Well if he's WP:vanished, I don't think you can continue the conflict resolution if it's with that user? An editorial conflict RE: a specific article might be best on the T:article in question. But that's just basic. What has the discussion on this been here-to-for? Dlohcierekim 14:13, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Don't we need to remove talk page ref's to the vanished users former nick? Such as those on Jc37's talk??

I removed the BLPProd on Samnee's article. There was a reference present in the article, albeit unreliable. In order to apply BLPProd, there has to be no references in the article. Bgwhite (talk) 22:44, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Dear Dlohcierekim

You made a lot of great edits in my article in past. I got a problem again, I don't know why, but just recently somebody from French editors put a deletion tag on my article about Giorgi Latsabidze. I need to ask you to look the article again and let me know what can we fix. I would very much appreciate if you can help with. I really put so much efforts in past, i believe there must be a solution for this. This guy is talking about unreliable sources in article, however I do find a lot of reliable sources which can not be disregarded. Also the editors (and admins including you) who made contributions helped this article to become more encyclopedic. I would appreciate your advice and feel free to edit it. AN discussion

Hi, I've added some comments to the discussion at Misplaced Pages:An#indian_castes_and_CSD:A1. I see that the underlying dispute has also been running at Arya Vaishya. Working on Indian caste articles is probably what I am best known for here - as User:Sitush - but I am still recovering from an operation and am not going to be based at home/capable of my usual input for a while yet. It might be worth soliciting the opinions of Salvio giuliano, Qwyrxian and Boing! said Zebedee, all of whom have/had held the bit and have quite a lot of experience in dealing with these outbreaks of inter-caste rivalry/forking etc. I'll certainly get to grips with it when I do return but things are likely to spiral out of control quite substantially before that happens.--2.219.218.79 (talk) 17:12, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

I agree. But the content is significantly different. The person is likely the same, but the claim to significance, if there is one, is different. Were it a repost of the rapper article, I'd gleefully redelete. I think PROD is the way to go. Maybe he did grow up to become notable. Or almost. Dlohcierekim 21:54, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello Robin. For instance, "George Washington was President of the United States." Please see the general notability guideline for what is considered notable. There are more specific guidelines, such as WP:CORP that pertain to businesses. You should work on the article in a sandbox in your userspace until it is ready. Or use the article wizard. Unfortunately, you are using your business' name as a user name. You must select a name unique to yourself. Hope this helps. Dlohcierekim 16:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary

Hello, when I started working on the article about a week ago, it had no independent sources and was packed full of promotional language. I have trimmed it considerably, and added four references which support most of the information in the article. I am curious why you felt it necessary to add a refimprove tag to an article with four references? Cullen Let's discuss it 20:47, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, you've made a big difference in the thing. But I was unsure of which content was supported. If all the content is supported by sources, then never mind. I intend to look for more, if i can find them. Unfortunately, I worked last night and am not fully recovered. Do as you think best, because it's a darn sight better than it was. Ugh, getting sleepy again. Thanks, Dlohcierekim 21:20, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. There are many articles in Google News archives. I am trying to select the best of them. The group is notable but seems to be going down the tubes. Sad. Cullen Let's discuss it 21:58, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Coşkun Yılmaz

Hello, I removed the BLP prod from Coşkun Yılmaz because some sources were added. It may still qualify for a traditional prod or AfD if you still doubt the notability. J04n(talk page) 11:55, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Question About Article on Hbmdb

Hi i wrote an article on a website by keeping in view of the page Bollywod hungama but my article was tagged A7 although it was much more informative then this one. Any suggestions?

It read like an advertisement. It did not indicate significance. It did not have information from reliable, 3rd party sources that would indicate it is notable in the narrow, encyclopedic sense we use on wikipedia. Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia. Subject should be encyclopedic and article should be based on what reliable media with a reputation for fact checking have written. Reviews, news media, books, journals are potential sources.`19:14, 26 August 2013 (UTC) Dlohcierekim 19:15, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
