Hi | |||
Chris, | |||
My name is Matthew Giesinger. I recently did a Family Tree DNA test. I received a result which is only one digit away from the Kunha modal haplotype provided in the yellow table.
I'm sure that your recent edits to ] were meant in good faith, but scholarship has moved on from 1998, and no longer supports most of these assertions (if, indeed, it ever did).
I tried to contact FTDNA as well as Karl Shorecki, to find out where this table came from and what scientific papers would support this yellow table, but was unable to get the information I sought.
The best place to take this is probably ], where I've posted a lengthier discussion of the material you've added, and why I think it doesn't stand up in the light of what else we now know. I hope on reflection you'll agree and accept the points I've made there. But if there's stuff still to consider, then rather than simply re-posting it to the main article, please can we consider it on the talk page instead, so that we (and others) can discuss it first. ] (]) 16:03, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I had thought that my family was of a different origin and I would like to learn more about the research behind this yellow table. I would like to know if my result, of nearly matching the Kunha modal haplotype (off by genetic distance of 1) means that I am a cohen.

ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
