==About==
The WikiCup is a championship which takes place every year on Misplaced Pages. The cup is played and won by skill of editing, in which the purpose of the cup is to encourage editing and to make editing fun here on Misplaced Pages.

The tournament is going to be in the style of the FIFA World Cup, but for the inaugural tournament, we will feature group stages of users depending on how many enter the tournament; of which the top '''3''' teams will advance to the second round, where they will be compared, in three groups of 4, where only the winners will proceed to the next round. Leaving 3 finalists. To be compared in a group, if a user stops editing during the tournament without warning or any notification. They will be eliminated and their place will come open to another user.

When the cup is won, a special template with the cup on will be placed on their userpage. The color of the border will depend on the colours of the flag of the country that they represented.

==How to Enter==

The plan for the layout of the 2009 tournament is as follows:

  • January 1 to March 28 – 60 users left – 10 groups of 6, top two from each group progressed, as well as the top ten of all remaining users.
  • April 1 to May 30 – 30 users left – 6 groups of 5, top one progressed, as well as the top ten of all remaining users.
  • June 1 to July 29 – 16 users left – 4 groups of 4, top one progressed, as well as the top four of all remaining users.
  • August 1 to October 31 – 8 users left – 1 group of 8. On September 30, the bottom four were eliminated; the top four continued (keeping their previous points from the round) until the end. At the end, Durova came out on top to win.

When the cup is won, a special template with the cup on will be placed on their user talkpage. The colour of the border will depend on the colours of the flag of the country that they represented. For contest results, please see /2007, /2008, and /2009.
