As reviewing administrator, I of course removed he speedy tag; the ed. who placed it apparently either did not realize there was a p. in the deWP, or did not bother to check it, nor use some common sense either. But really, it would have been far better to translate over a little more of it. At the least, I sometimes just copy over the references, even without translation. It's the best protection against people making such errors. If you're not going to do more let me know, because ass you know he's a famous person, & I will do it. Dear Wikipedian, you in the ]. Your username, along with around 155 other usernames of your fellow Wikipedians, was ] from the 2000+ Wikipedians who voted this year, with the help of ]. If you are willing, could you please participate (at your option either on-wiki via userspace or off-wiki via email) in an ], and answer some questions about how you decided amongst the ] candidates?
If ] to participate in this ], the statistical results will be published in the '']'', an online newspaper with over 1000 Wikipedians among the readership. There are about twelve questions, which have alphanumerical answers; it should take you a few minutes to complete the exit poll questionnaire, and will help improve ] by giving future candidates information about what you think is important. This is only an unofficial survey, and will have no impact on your actual vote during this election, nor in any future election.
All questions are individually optional, and this entire ] itself is also entirely optional, though if you choose not to participate, I would appreciate a brief reply indicating why you decided not to take part (see Question Zero). Thanks for being a Wikipedian
=== The questionnaire ===
Dear Wikipedian, please fill out these questions -- at your option via usertalk or via email, see Detailed Instructions at the end of the twelve questions -- by putting the appropriate answer in the blanks provided. If you decide ''not'' to answer a question (all questions are optional), please put the reason down: "undecided" / "private information" / "prefer not to answer" / "question is ]" / "other: please specify". Although the '']'' cannot guarantee that complex answers can be processed for publication, it will help us improve future exit polls, if you give us comments about why you could not answer specific questions.

:Hi Ale, | |||
:Just a heads up that I have nominated ] for ]. This is my first time doing this, so I apologize if I am off base. However, the introduction to the stub reads like a promotion for the organization. More importantly, the history section is a verbatim copy-paste from their page, under About Us. Given LDA's size and long history, I would imagine that a proper full page could be written for it. Unfortunately it would require a full rewrite, which I don't have the time for.
{{ping|Chippy87}} By the time I came to see, the page was deleted already. Yes, it was a stub. I inserted it in 1916 when I edited ]. LDA posted a comment, so it seemed to make sense for an encyclopedia to be able to tell who they are. Their comment seemed to be valid. However, in fact, just like for the LDA stub, nobody continued the description of what happened in subsequent years. Email forwarding
Hi Ale
Thanks for your notes on Email forwarding. This whole area confuses me not a little as a user (I have little experience of the internals), so it seems like we need to clarify things. Re filters, I think of clients like Thunderbird and Eudora, which as I understand it function on the client. The other cases relate to Unix-style ~/.forward files, which exist definitely in userspace and achieve forwarding -- but whether as the local user or as the local sendmail daemon -- I know not.
I find your English excellent: I haven't "amended" as much as edited for style -- a personal thing.
Hope this helps.

Domain name system
Hi. "Return-Path" is a header added by many delivery agents with the contents of the envelope from. Doesn't SPF operate on the envelope from, not on the nonstandard Return-Path? jhawkinson (talk) 14:51, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you're quite right, 2821 (and 821) did clearly standardize Return-Path. I'm not sure why I thought it was simply an implementation convention and not a standard, but I was definitely wrong. Sorry about that. jhawkinson (talk) 18:40, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Liouville number
Hi! First of all, sorry for my English. Now, why is G-delta? Let ; Q is an F-sigma set so Q is G-delta and is G-delta as an intersection of two G-delta sets. By definition, L is a meagre set. Best, 4 08:14, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi! By Meagre set#Definition we have that L is comeagre so Lc must be meagre. Am I wrong? It is possible, I might have confused definitions. If I am not wrong maybe this phrase from the article confuses you: "...and it follows that is a dense G-delta set, since its complement is a meagre set" - if so, it should be rephrased. Maybe "... and it follows its complement is a meagre set". Best, 4 11:04, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Good idea! I think that your changes will improve the text. And how much of the topological idea of "bigness" - it is borrowed from Oxtoby's book quoted in the Reference section. Do as you please. Best, 4 12:42, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Merging Reduction (philosophy) and Reductionism
Hi Ale -- Thanks for your helpful comments. See my response on the Reduction (philosophy) talk page Perhaps we can get a good discussion/resolution going. BTW, the notion that people and animals might be deterministic automatons is a persistent theme in the novels of Kurt Vonnegut.--Foobarnix (talk) 22:29, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Re: Stockade (disambiguation)
Re your message: Feel free to create the disambiguation page. The page that I deleted way back then was about a non-notable wrestler created under the wrong article naming convention. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:24, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm afraid I've trimmed this disambiguation page quite radically - on the style guideline for disambiguation pages, it says "On a page called Title, do not create entries merely because Title is part of the name (see Misplaced Pages:Disambiguation#Partial title matches)." It's still ok to have the page as there are a couple of entries that refer to things called, simply, Stockade, but I've removed most of the other entries. --BelovedFreak 10:20, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Otto_Wiener_(physicist).jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Otto_Wiener_(physicist).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please remove the tag.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 22:10, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Otto Wiener (physicist)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Otto Wiener (physicist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Armbrust review 13:10, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Signpost exit poll
Dear Wikipedian, you recently voted in the ArbCom election. Your username, along with around 155 other usernames of your fellow Wikipedians, was randomly selected from the 2000+ Wikipedians who voted this year, with the help of one of the election-commissioners. If you are willing, could you please participate (at your option either on-wiki via userspace or off-wiki via email) in an exit poll, and answer some questions about how you decided amongst the ArbCom candidates?
If you decide to participate in this exit poll, the statistical results will be published in the Signpost, an online newspaper with over 1000 Wikipedians among the readership. There are about twelve questions, which have alphanumerical answers; it should take you a few minutes to complete the exit poll questionnaire, and will help improve Misplaced Pages by giving future candidates information about what you think is important. This is only an unofficial survey, and will have no impact on your actual vote during this election, nor in any future election.
All questions are individually optional, and this entire exit poll itself is also entirely optional, though if you choose not to participate, I would appreciate a brief reply indicating why you decided not to take part (see Question Zero). Thanks for being a Wikipedian
The questionnaire
Dear Wikipedian, please fill out these questions -- at your option via usertalk or via email, see Detailed Instructions at the end of the twelve questions -- by putting the appropriate answer in the blanks provided. If you decide not to answer a question (all questions are optional), please put the reason down: "undecided" / "private information" / "prefer not to answer" / "question is not well-posed" / "other: please specify". Although the Signpost cannot guarantee that complex answers can be processed for publication, it will help us improve future exit polls, if you give us comments about why you could not answer specific questions.

Processing of responses will be performed in batches of ten, prior to publication in the Signpost. GamerPro64 will be processing the email-based answers, and will strive to maintain the privacy of your answers (as well as your email address and the associated IP address typically found in the email-headers), though of course as a volunteer effort, we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will have a system free from computer virii, we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will resist hypothetical bribes offered by the KGB/NSA/MI6 to reveal your secrets, and we cannot legally guarantee that GamerPro64 will make no mistakes. If you choose to answer on-wiki, your answers will be visible to other Wikipedians. If you choose to answer via email, your answers will be sent unencrypted over the internet, and we will do our best to protect your privacy, but unencrypted email is inherently an improper mechanism for doing so. We do promise to try hard, not to make any mistakes, in the processing and presentation of your answers. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact column-editor GamerPro64, copy-editor 75.108.94.227, or copy-editor Ryk72. Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping Misplaced Pages. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Learning Disabilities Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Chippy87 (talk) 03:48, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ale,
- Just a heads up that I have nominated Learning Disabilities Association for speedy deletion. This is my first time doing this, so I apologize if I am off base. However, the introduction to the stub reads like a promotion for the organization. More importantly, the history section is a verbatim copy-paste from their History page, under About Us. Given LDA's size and long history, I would imagine that a proper full page could be written for it. Unfortunately it would require a full rewrite, which I don't have the time for.
@Chippy87: By the time I came to see, the page was deleted already. Yes, it was a stub. I inserted it in 1916 when I edited Digital Millennium Copyright Act#Section 1201 Study. LDA posted a comment, so it seemed to make sense for an encyclopedia to be able to tell who they are. Their comment seemed to be valid. However, in fact, just like for the LDA stub, nobody continued the description of what happened in subsequent years. So, you may want to delete that section as well. ale (talk) 12:40, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:CAcert logo color.svg
Thanks for uploading File:CAcert logo color.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:08, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hm... I uploaded that file on 22 February 2017. However, I didn't find any other occurrence of the term cacert in my contributions. Meanwhile, Debian stopped distributing Cacert certificates, and I myself switched to Let's Encrypt. I don't think it's worth creating a Cacert page now. I'll let the logo be deleted...

Help with Temu Article
Hi, I see that you’re an active member of the Internet WikiProject and I was wondering if you might be willing to have a look at a proposal (I have a COI as a Temu employee and am trying to adhere strictly to the rules, which is why I’ve made a proposal instead of editing the page myself.) As you might know, Temu’s app has been the most downloaded iPhone app in the United States over the last few months , so I hope that you might find the subject matter intriguing given your interest in Internet subjects. Thanks very much for your time! Snowy2000 (talk) 08:52, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Domain Assurance Council
The article Domain Assurance Council has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence of notability
While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. * Pppery * it has begun... 00:48, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Ale2006. Thank you for your work on Dave Crocker (network engineer). Another editor, Voorts, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
I have cleaned this up a little bit, but it still needs better citations and there ar still some unreferenced parts. You should also add Crocker to List of Internet pioneers (he qualifies for inclusion there for winning the IEEE Internet Award).
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Voorts}}
