It debuted at number thirteen during the busy Christmas season and in its third week on the ] Singles chart, it rose to and peaked at #10. Although the single was Shannon's lowest charting of his career so far, sales of the single were very strong and the single became Shannon's 6th single to reach gold or platinum sales and also became Shannon's longest running top 100 hit so far. Due to the positive and uplifting theme of the song, it was chosen to become the theme song for the successful Australian edition of the US reality series '']'', further increasing the single's popularity.
