The Thunder Machine is a vehicle used by the Dreadnoks, a biker gang mercinary group who often worked for COBRA in the GIJoe: A Real American Hero comic books and cartoon series. The vehicle was created and drivien by Thrasher. It was cobbled together from parts salvaged from several vehicles. The Thunder Machine was propelled by a jet engine similar to jet-propelled dragsters. This made hideously fast but hard to manuver. The vehicle was built on a military truck chasis, similar to a HMMVee. It had armor plating riveted over most of the exterior surface. The front tires were racing tires, making it easier to manuver the incredibly fast vehicle. Since an engine wasn't required, the front of the truck was replaced with the nose of a 70's era Trans-Am on top of which was mounted a roll cage and two huge armor-peircing gatlin guns. Two people could ride in the armored cockpit, others could stand on exterior running boards...if they dared. The toy was offered for 3 years, heavily featured in one comic, and rarely seen otherwise. It's unusual design, and conection to some of the most memorable GIJoe characters, make it a memorable part of the GI Joe universe. | |||
