| The '''Franco-Soviet pact''' was a brief alliance with French trade in order for the French to seek military support in 1935. The pact was not a guarantee of peace but a deal in case of war. After ] invaded parts of ], ] was in need of a way to support collective security with the ] in fear of a future invasion. Because of this pact, Hitler used it as an excuse to re-militarize the ] which after the first ] had been demilitarized to provide France with a bulwark against German hostilities.
