Re:Urgent request

I just took a quick look at the article and from what I could see there's no ref that describes the book except the book itself. You should find a neutral reference that reviews the book and summarizes it. Don't worry we'll try to keep it from being deleted. NPOV editing

If you wish me to review the your edits for a trial period, then I will do so - but please don't think that because I found them to be within WP:CIVIL or similar that they cannot be challenged/changed by anyone (and neither that anyone who does challenge/change them is a Zionist, etc.); this is a wiki. The best person, though, to police your edits is yourself; you could try a role reversal trick, which is to substitute Israel for Palestine, Palestine for Israel, Israeli for Arab/Palestinian and Palestinian/Arab for Israeli and review your proposed edit and see if you would be happy with it. If you are, change the key words around and post it - and if you don't like it reword it until you do. Always try to take the moral high ground by making your edits the most neutral and best referenced it is possible to be, for those are the edits that will last. I'm delighted the reaction about the Gaza Devotion Period on Wiki Arabic was so positive! Just to give you a note on the progress here... the Great Mosque of Gaza is now a Good article, the articles on the neighborhoods of Rimal, Shuja'iyya, and Tel al-Hawa have been created, an article on Said al-Shawa has been started, the articles on the destroyed villages of Barbara, Yas'ur, al-Jiyya, and al-Jura have been expanded and as for the article on Gaza City, I've expanded it by roughly 30,000 KB and virtually all of it is referenced. Hopefully it will be ready for Good article status soon! I hope you and the Wi-Ar editors keep up the great work and please always drop by Wiki English. RE:Ethnic cleansing of Palestine and other stuff

First off, was that article merged with the one on the book? Secondly, it might be difficult to keep that article from being deleted, unless more sources are found and much more text added such as, sections on specific examples of ethnic cleansing as well as a section on criticisms of the term. With an article on this particular subject, we must stress to keep it as NPOV as possible throughout since it has the potential to attract a lot of heat from many users. As long as we add the necessary information above, I am confident the article will not be deleted even with opposition. Lately, as you know, I've been working on the Gaza topic and once Gaza becomes a Good article, I might be temporarily migrating from the Palestine subject area to work on the Gamal Abdel Nasser article, Damascus or the Umayyad Mosque. I want to finally contribute to pan-Arab articles as I had stated I wanted too a long time ago. Compared to other Arab-related articles on Wiki, WP Palestine is the most successful. --Al Ameer son (talk) 03:53, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

As a result of an arbitration case, the Arbitration committee has acknowledged long-term and persistent problems in the editing of articles related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, broadly understood. As a result, the Committee has enacted broad editing restrictions, described here and below.

• Any uninvolved administrator may, on his or her own discretion, impose sanctions on any editor working in the area of conflict if, despite being warned, that editor repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Misplaced Pages, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process.
• The sanctions imposed may include blocks of up to one year in length; bans from editing any page or set of pages within the area of conflict; bans on any editing related to the topic or its closely related topics; restrictions on reverts or other specified behaviors; or any other measures which the imposing administrator believes are reasonably necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the project.
• Prior to any sanctions being imposed, the editor in question shall be given a warning with a link to this decision; and, where appropriate, should be counseled on specific steps that he or she can take to improve his or her editing in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Discretionary sanctions imposed under the provisions of this decision may be appealed to the imposing administrator, the appropriate administrators' noticeboard (currently WP:AE), or the Committee.

These editing restrictions may be applied to any editor for cause, provided the editor has been previously informed of the case. This message is to so inform you. This message does not necessarily mean that your current editing has been deemed a problem; this is a template message crafted to make it easier to notify any user who has edited the topic of the existence of these sanctions.

Generally, the next step, if an administrator feels your conduct on pages in this topic area is disruptive, would be a warning, to be followed by the imposition of sanctions (although in cases of serious disruption, the warning may be omitted). Hopefully no such action will be necessary.

2009 Arab Capital of Culture

Marhaba Yamanam! I think the article is good, considering the few sources we have about it. It's preferred that we use English sources, but seeing as the referencing situation will be tough, I think using some reliable and necessary Arabic-language sources would be fine. I never edited an article on this subject area before, so I asked the Good Article WikiProject what would be necessary. You could see if they replied at their talk page. Thank you for your time and effort! I really appreciate it! I started out with the purpose of writing on just the Samouni incident but when I researched the "Zeioun incident", I found that there was discussion of attacks on the entire Zeitoun district (and not just on the Samouni family). But the focal point is on the Samouni family because they suffered the most, 29 dead family members from a total 48 of Zeitoun residents killed, and that is reflected in the article. I will link to the Arabic article on the Samouni family, but I am still not sure what name I should include. You said "Hay Al Zeitoun Massacre (مجزرة حي الزيتون) you might find any of the different massacre committed during the offensive" You mean this name can apply to any of the incidents in the offensive on Zeitoun but not to all of the killings made in Zeitoun? --Falastine fee Qalby (talk) 20:52, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

I am not deliberately using anything to bypass Misplaced Pages's systems - I wouldn't know how to do it, and have no reason to do so, all my edits are visible and none of them are vandalism. For those who have my talk page on their watch list, and for those who see this note please note that I am blocked now and I can only edit my talk page, and I wish this message to be channeled to the right panel and more specifically to be posted on the talk page of ProcseeBot and/or it's operator slakr. Following is the message:

First off, the reason of my block is that I use an IP address that was identified to be "an open proxy or zombie computer".

By reviewing my contribution you will note that I created several new articles: Judaization of Jerusalem, Excavations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Hashim ibn Utbah, Jericho Conference, 2009 Arab Capital of Culture, and Al al-Bayt University (I think I created other articles but I can't remember them now), in addition to the creation of new articles, I participated in interwiking English wikipedia articles with Arabic wikipedia articles, through adding an interwiki to plenty of Arabic and English articles. I participated more than once in voting for deletion and adminship; also I uploaded 2 pictures, one is used in the Jericho Conference and the other is used in the 2009 Arab Capital of Culture.

I was misunderstood several times because of my poor English, nevertheless I was never blocked. I am not sure why does my IP address show that I am in Dubai - UAE, but I live in Amman-Jordan; an important fact is that I have no control over my ISP and I can't request them to change the routing of my line. Moreover, I am totally ignorant when it comes to IP addresses and open and closed proxies. It wasn't until I was blocked when I knew that several users can share the same IP address I always thought that for each Internet user there is a unique IP address, but now, and as I knew that the same IP address could be shared by several users, I want to say that if I will be unblocked then I will make sure to review all of the contribution/edits made by this IP (the same as mine).

I think it is up to you now to decide whether the vandalism of this IP deserves that an active user, such like me, to be blocked. Yamanam (talk) 08:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

WalaykumasSalaam waRahmatullahi waBarakaatahu brother. InshaAllah I will. BTW, there is a lot of Arabic text in articles on Misplaced Pages which describe with the various Surahs in the Qur'an. You can get a list of them in this article: Surah. I have been editing articles on Surah An-Nas, Surah Al-Muminun and Mu'awwidhatayn. InshaAllah please try to have a look at them and also at others if you can. Also it InshaAllah be good if you or your friends could contribute towards articles for these other other Surahs.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. FYI, my feeling was that the article as it was would almost surely be deleted, or moved, in a way that would probably just make attempts at improvement more complicated. If you work on the article where it is, or get others to help, then the next step would probably be to get a second opinion from someone more experienced on whether it is likely to pass WP:AfD; if you decide it is, then that's the time to create the article. My personal view is that it would take some more reporting on this to justify an article, but the reason I moved it was as much so you don't have to deal with a likely-controversial deletion argument at the same time as trying to improve the article.
