== Adding a section on Synthesizers / Drum Machines ==
Terrible spelling in the 'controversy' section, lacking in sources etc. - Xiang 8 Oct 2006
I am surprised that there is no mention of Behringer making synthesizers and drum machines since 2016. Someone had added section about the Deepmind synthesizers before, but it got reverted, because it didn't have source. I then added a section regarding the synth clones and this same editor ] reverted it, saying my sources were not reliable and got my account banned. Even tough, I used Future Music, one of the biggest publications for synthesizers. I was able to sort it out and unban my account. I have no COI with Behringer, I am just a musician/hobbyist that feels this is such an important development that deserves its section. Please post your support or objection regarding adding the below section. I feel there are people out there against having this, because they are analog purist who are not happy with the Behringer's cheaper clones or competitors, so if you are against adding this you better have a very good reason.

However bias the Copyright Controversy section might be, it's no-where near as one-sided as the "Products" section. It's a statement of fact that the brand is often regarded poorly, and has been challenged about designs - but to speculate on the supposed performance and value of equipment is well beyond the scope of an unbias article.

== "Cork Sniffer" ==
==Reads like a marketing piece==
Statements like "offer a quality that competes and is comparable with competitors products" are clearly offering a point of view, especially in light of the fact that Behringer gear is widely derided by professional musicians and recording studio personell. ] 04:37, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

A "Cork Sniffer" is a wine tester, we now know. One may find fault with Behringer's "Chinese" business practices, accuse them of "plagiarism", one thing is certain, they offer affordable prices for devices that would be unaffordable without them. What is downright hysterically absurd, however, is to infer something "anti-Semitic" from this Pinocchio nose on his fake synthesizer, which is apparently meant to represent a "less than honest person." Unmistakable symptom of the "postmodern outrage and excitement society". Nazism famously defined the Jewish nose as corresponding to "the shape of a 6". And since when does the 6 look like a baton-stick? See also statement minute 45:60 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xetwfN63-PA. The nose depicted on this preamp, which unmistakably served as a model for Behringer's "mockery," is much more likely to fulfill the anti-Semitic definition. https://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--3CiL0T3e--/f_auto,t_supersize/v1595815045/pjrq4rxvgjomxnkxqjsx.jpg ] (]) 03:57, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

I am an employee of BEHRINGER, and, in the name of transparency, wanted to explain the edits I made to BEHRINGER's Misplaced Pages article on 4/8/09. It was certainly not my intent to whitewash the article, and I made every attempt not to. The only edits I made were to the information section and product section. The information I provided was not contradicting previous information, but simply adding to it. I did my best not to change the tone of the article. If you have any feedback for me, I would be glad to hear it. I do want to learn more about Misplaced Pages in general. Thanks. ] (]) 19:45, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

:Your contribution was neutral, in my estimation, so thanks for your input. Your use of all-caps may be standard for promotional purposes at your company but at Misplaced Pages the ] says, basically, "too bad". I took the all-caps stuff down to lower case, including 'Behringer' and 'Loud'. ] (]) 20:09, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

==Another Question==

Before making any further edits, I would like to get feedback from the Misplaced Pages community on the following text as to whether or not it is acceptable. If it is not, what would make it acceptable? It is basically a rewrite of the first section. The info comes from the Behringer website and is meant to supplement the information already provided in the article.

'''Behringer International GmbH (Behringer) is an audio equipment manufacturer founded in its present form by Uli Behringer in 1989, in Willich, Germany. Today, Behringer has a presence in 10 countries and territories around the world and employs around 3,500 people. Since 2002, Behringer's manufacturing has been based out of Behringer City, an ISO 9001/9002 factory, located in Zhongshan in China's Guangdong province. Behringer produces many of the internal components used in its products including speakers and the pulp for speaker cones. Behringer's stylized ear logo is used to symbolize the company's approach to design as well as represent a nickname that Uli Behringer was given as a young piano student -- "The Ear."'''

Also, would it be appropriate to create a section entitled Notable Users that included people who use Behringer products such as Alice Cooper? Thank you for your input. ] (]) 22:29, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

I updated the products section to list a more complete and up-to-date description of Behringer's product offerings. I used Behringer's current product catalog as a citation as there is really no other way to cite that information. ] (]) 16:42, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

:Sure, use that lead section text if you like. I don't think specific examples of speakers and pulp for cones are needed in the lead paragraph, but those details could be used later in the article text. I would put the logo sentence in its own paragraph.

:As for lists of artists... sure, I always like to see which artists are hard up for cash. ] (]) 17:53, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

::Of course, please don't forget that it must all be verified by the use of reliable third-party sources. ]] 19:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

:::Thanks for the feedback. I updated the article with more facts about the company. ]'s suggestion and help regarding sections and style made me realize that different sections for the different info were preferred rather than adding the info in the opening section. I actually shortened the opening section as to not be redundant in information that I was adding to new sections. I added a section that described Behringer's production facilities. I feel this is notable as Behringer, unlike some of its competitors, owns its own production. However, I tried to be overly careful as to not make quality statements about this fact. I also added a section that more completely and accurately described the type of products that Behringer manufactures. Once again, I intentionally avoided providing a huge list of all our products by name. Another section that I added was about the Ear logo. I made sure to only describe the intent behind the use of the logo. Finally, I added an About the founder section as well as a notable users section. These sections simply provide more background and facts about the company and the people who use its products. I did my sincere best to operate within Misplaced Pages's style conventions, but I will admit I am no expert in them. The vast majority of the information I provided did come from Behringer's website, blog and catalog. After reviewing Misplaced Pages's articles on citations, I feel that these sources are the only viable sources for the type of information I provided and are thus acceptable sources. The last change that I made was to change the product image. The image that was provided was a product that has been discontinued. I replaced it with an image of the closest current product that Behringer offers to the original. ] (]) 23:04, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Adding a section on Synthesizers / Drum Machines

I am surprised that there is no mention of Behringer making synthesizers and drum machines since 2016. Someone had added section about the Deepmind synthesizers before, but it got reverted, because it didn't have source. I then added a section regarding the synth clones and this same editor user:Scottywong reverted it, saying my sources were not reliable and got my account banned. Proposed section to be added:
Since 2016, Behringer has become a manufacturer of synthesizers and drum machines, which includes original synths, but also many clones of old classic synthesizers.

Since 2018, Behringer has announced and produced a number of analog synthesizer and drum machine clones which have included Roland TB-303, Korg Monopoly, Arp 2600, Roland TR-808/TR-909, Minimoog and Sequential Prohpet-600.
Behringer is known for releasing their synthesizers at budget prices.

Having a wikipage absolutely does not bestow reliability. See Daily Mail, for instance. You should also check out Misplaced Pages:List of unreliable sources and view RELIABLE SOURCE GUIDELINES. GenQuest 10:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
Jaxarnolds, the list at WP:RSINSTRUMENT is far from exhaustive. It would be great to expand it. Just to note: The Behringer Crave is not based on the TB303 (And does not share it's functionality, either). It is a direct clone of the Moog Mother 32, it's functionality down to every single patchpoint and their locations are identical.

Yes, older product lines use the yellow triangle. Newer products only have the text logo. I'd suggest checking what the new releases use as logo and go with that to keep the page updated. TanookiKoopa (talk) 11:13, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
