Traitor is a enetically engineered alien, designed to be the ultimate conqueror. His true name is Devlos Ungol. After a thwarted attempted to take over the universe, disrupted by the GL Corp., he swore to eradicate all Green Lanterns, especially Starkaor.
}}

Traitor found himself on Earth in the later 1800's battling Starkaor's heir Abin Sur, in the American South-West, After his defeat he was imprisoned in Abin Sur's ring.

Almost a century later, Traitor would return and do battle with Abin Sur's heir, Hal Jordan and his ally Ray Palmer, the Atom. After again facing defeat at the hands of a Green Lantern, Traitor would be plunged into the Sun.

In the late 20th Century, Traitor would return, having been able to escape thanks to the sun being briefly extinguished. This time Traitor would face a new Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner. Rayner would call in the assistance of the ring's former welders, and the very people that had defeated Traitor before.

Traitor was defeated and imprisoned on the very planet he ruined, it could only be a matter of time before Traitor resurfaces again.
