This usage is to be distinguished from the one which makes reference to the class of authors known as ] who also call themselves "revisionist historians." The latter may be identified by their published articles in their own journal, the ], which is published by their organization, the ].

The distinction appears to have been introduced into American ] shortly after ] (about 1920) to categorize American historians who questioned the alleged "war guilt" to which ] was subjected for allegedly being responsible for starting said war.
