After a long hiatus between August 2019 and December 2021, there's quite a bit of ground to cover. Due to the vastness, I decided in December to split the coverage up into a few installments that covered six months each. Some people thought this was a good idea, since covering an entire year in a single issue would make it unmanageably large. Others thought this was stupid, since they were getting talk page messages about crap from almost three years ago. Ultimately, the question of whether each issue covers six months or a year is only relevant for a couple more of them, and then the problem will be behind us forever.
In regards to the copyright issue, it seems it was because of the official citation, which I've found in this context usually falls under the category of public domain. ] (]) 18 August 2009
Of course, you can also look on the bright side – we are making progress, and this issue will only be about crap from almost ''two'' years ago. Today we will pick up where we left off in December, and go through the first half of 2020.

Thank you for the guiding principles, they are certainly thought-provoking. Can you add one on the Committee attitude towards ] (reading private emails) and such? This is not fully addressed by 10) "Exclusion of evidence". Thanks, --<span style="border:1px solid #228B22;padding:1px;">]|]</span> 20:13, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
:I'm not convinced it's relevant at all in the first place; my understanding of that legal principle (even if it applied to ArbCom) make it relevant strictly to mail that is ''in transit''. (In other words, it would apply to interception of the mail, not of seizing it before it was sent or after it was received.) — ] ] 20:18, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
::I think Radek covered this in ]. Whether this does or doesn't apply to Misplaced Pages is an interesting precedent to make. I may not like it, but if it doesn't apply, saying so clearly will help the project (by giving you something you can point to in the future rulings). --<span style="border:1px solid #228B22;padding:1px;">]|]</span> 20:27, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
On a more pleasant subject, I'd appreciate Committee's (or yours) advice how to balance one's desire to chat about Misplaced Pages with friends and colleagues in private with not violating site's policies. PS. I am quite fond of transparency, but you must admit there are things that one may want to say in private and at the same time not violate any wiki policy. --<span style="border:1px solid #228B22;padding:1px;">]|]</span> 20:31, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
:I hope you'll forgive me for not going into that topic with you at this time. Under different circumstances, this might have been a productive discussion but given that I'm sitting on the committee that is to rule on that topic (and, indeed, that I will be the one writing most of the decision) I need to keep an arm's length from the subject.<p>I very much want to make sure, at least, that the decision itself will give you (and everyone) as good guidance on the subject as possible, though — that's my primary objective and part of the reason why I posted the first proposed principles early. — ] ] 20:44, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
::I appreciate your sentiments here. I've already proposed in the workshop ]. Are such initiatives welcomed by the Committee? We are currently discussing how to reform our group to make it more transparent in the future and your principles will help - but I am sure there are blind spots we have that we cannot see without outside help. If the community thinks we have veered of course, we are willing to steer back towards it. In the end, we want to help the project. I hope my wiki record proves that I mean what I say here. --<span style="border:1px solid #228B22;padding:1px;">]|]</span> 20:52, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
:::Of course; contrary to what some may believe, the members of the committee actually actively ''dislike'' the fact that disputes end up in front of us. :-) Attempts to solve problems are always welcome. — ] ] 20:57, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
::::Inspired by our conversation, here's my idea: ]. If we can get this to work, this should vastly contribute to easing the problem we are facing (I'd hope). --<span style="border:1px solid #228B22;padding:1px;">]|]</span> 02:29, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Coren, | |||
Your bot tagged ] as a possible copyvio, which makes sense statistically, as there's really not enough content in the article yet for a significant divergence (most of the article is a track listing, guaranteed to be the same). So just letting you know that your bot found a source I hadn't used, but I added to the article anyway. —] (]/]) 07:10, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
I resolved when I became an admin that I'd swing by here the first time I had a block overturned, even if you were inactive; and after 6 months and 1,421 blocks that's finally happened, sadly, so here I am. You probably don't remember me, but ten years and two usernames ago (''Francophonie&Androphilie'', kinda cringe name) you indeffed me and then reversed yourself after objections at AN/I. I expected I'd have something to say, when this day did come, about what I've learned from having a block overturned, but really all I can say is that it's unpleasant—both getting it wrong and being told you got it wrong—which is no great insight. But I guess I thought it might please (or at least amuse) you to know I stuck around and am an admin now; and also thought I'd take this as an opportunity to say hi and ask how you've been doing. Maybe you won't see this for a year or won't see it ever, but can't hurt to ask.

Welcome to the eighth issue of the English Misplaced Pages's Bots Newsletter, your source for all things bot. Maintainers disappeared to parts unknown... bots awakening from the slumber of æons... hundreds of thousands of short descriptions... these stories, and more, are brought to you by Misplaced Pages's most distinguished newsletter about bots. Our last issue was in August 2019, so there's quite a bit of catching up to do. Due to the vast quantity of things that have happened, the next few issues will only cover a few months at a time. This month, we'll go from September 2019 through the end of the year. I won't bore you with further introductions — instead, I'll bore you with a newsletter about bots. Overall

Welcome to the ninth issue of the English Misplaced Pages's Bots Newsletter, your source for all things bot. Vicious bot-on-bot edit warring... superseded tasks... policy proposals... these stories, and more, are brought to you by Misplaced Pages's most distinguished newsletter about bots. Of course, you can also look on the bright side – we are making progress, and this issue will only be about crap from almost two years ago. Today we will pick up where we left off in December, and go through the first half of 2020. Overall January 2020 Yeah, you're not gonna be able to get away with this anymore.

The Dark Nebula
Hi, I tried to place this entry on Misplaced Pages some years ago & was cited as plagiarising an entry on comixpedia. That listing was indeed by me so i was not copying that post but, instead, reposting on Misplaced Pages, unaware that was not appropriate. I am attempting to post this on Misplaced Pages again & would like to know what is required to be removed or altered so that it would indeed be complying with the rules. I'm 62 years of age & not as tech-savvy as i would otherwise like to be.
I should point out that comixpedia is no longer what it was. In fact, if you click on the link for Comixpedia or more specifically the entry regarding The Dark Nebula it is all an Indonesian Gaming/Gambling site, nothing to do with The Dark Nebula or Comics in any way, shape or form.
To be clear the substance of the proposed entry originated from me, including images. I hope a resolution can be reached.
I leave this in your hands.
Thank you The Dark Nebula (talk) 08:57, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Ten years later
Hi Coren,
