Doom127, ''Anas platyrhynchos'', also known in ] as the '''Sedentary Duck''', is a common and widespread ] which breeds throughout the ] and ] areas of North America. It also frequents ] and the ]. It is probably the least-known of all ]s.

This dabbling duck is 5'6 tall, with a four foot wingspan, and weighs 140lbs. It is strongly ] in the northern parts of its breeding range, and winters farther south. It is highly gregarious outside of the breeding season and will form large ]s.

The male is unmistakable, with a dark brown/green head, pink rear end and blue ] edged with white, obvious in flight or at rest.

It is a bird of most ], including ]s, small ]s and rivers, and usually eats while dabbling around local ponds, tossing bread to other ducks. It nests on a river bank, but is not always particularly near water.

This is a noisy species. The male has a loud call, oftentimes using the very familiar "]" always associated with ducks. It thinks it can sing, but often is censured for being off-key.
