I've noticed your various small improvements (like ) to this article. If nothing else, I hope you would consider adding your thoughts!--]] 00:46, 29 September 2009 (UTC) | |||
Not a problem, but the IP didn't put the word rumor, I did, as that's the case per the actual article, references, and the related article - and the consensus of the video game project members involved in the articles. Though I just changed it over to "speculated" to go with the actual body of the passage. It's not stating the fact that a burial in New Mexico by Atari did not occur, because that certainly did happen. Just that the idea that the burial was solely millions of E.T. carts or that there were that many carts buried there is a rumor. As the references state, it was a mixture of many differt game titles, and computer and console equipment. BTW - if you're interested in reading more on the incident and other related Atari ones, you should check out the new 800 page . --] (]) 15:02, 7 January 2013 (UTC) | |||
:Thanks for your thoughts - think you could repeat them at the merge discussion?--]] 20:49, 29 September 2009 (UTC) | |||
Gotcha. Will do. Funnily enough, the idea that Atari dumped a whole bunch of stuff is even more disturbingly funny, at least to me. The original conceit, that it was just one game (or maybe two, as some accounts mention "Atari Pac-Man" as well), made it seem more like just a very odd attempt to correct a major screw-up that couldn't be fixed any other way. My wife, incidentally, still has an original E.T. cart.] ] ] 16:41, 7 January 2013 (UTC) | |||

Yes. Again, it was a judgment call, particularly since nothing on the discussion page differentiated between the content you deleted and other content. :No, the text in question is the dictionary definition of socialism. The wording is very specific - it is the definition you see when you look up "socialism" in the Oxford English Dictionary, and the wording inserted into the Labour Party's constitution when it adopted socialism in 1918. E.T. Edits
BTW - if you're interested in reading more on the incident and other related Atari ones, you should check out the new 800 page Atari history book. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 15:02, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
Gotcha. My wife, incidentally, still has an original E.T. cart.Boomshadow contribs 16:41, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Spawn Task Force
Is this still active and can I sign up? I've been working on a few of these pieces due to the recent AFDs.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 17:46, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
I'm honestly not sure. I don't recall signing up for the Spawn Task Force. Boomshadow contribs 22:53, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I checked it again (that's where I got your name) and it looks like it's archived. Probably explains the state of most of the articles and why people want to delete Jason Wynn, Overt-Kill, etc.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 00:53, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ah. I may have signed up for it after doing mechanical (grammar, punctuation and spelling) edits, since I do quite a lot of those. Boomshadow contribs 00:56, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew!
I thought the exclamation point in his name was very charming given the name of the series and sort of think it should be put back. They sound like amazing comic books. Trish. Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 03:19, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
- It could go either way, I think, but his own Misplaced Pages page uses the WP:STYLE naming convention, which uses his legal name (sans bang) in the header and mentions his use of it prominently in the article, so for consistency, I agree with the change. But that's just me. The books were a fun, if dated, send-up of DC at the time through the lens of anthropomorphic animals. I still enjoy them, but they're not a regularly re-read collection for me.Boomshadow contribs 04:38, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 9
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Flash (Barry Allen), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barry Allen. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

St. Pete Beach
Are you interested in doing photo requests of St. Pete Beach? I'm interested in getting photos of city government buildings and schools there. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:07, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- It's an intriguing idea, but I'm not a great photographer and I'm working two jobs these days. I'm going to regretfully pass. Boomshadow contribs 05:43, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest
US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
