Fetal rights

Please stop removing the {{pov}} tag from this article without discussion. The language used in this article expresses a very specific point of view and unless that changes the tag needs to stay on the article. Tiktaalik roseae

Thank you for contributing the article Tiktallik. There was a spelling mistake in the title of the article. The correct spelling for this fossil species is Tiktaalik roseae, and there is an article at Tiktaalik that you might enjoy reading. The name comes from the Inuktitut language of the Inuit people, so it isn't easy for many English-speakers to spell. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 01:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Wikicladogram Project

If you intention was to create a WikiProject, please see Misplaced Pages: WikiProject and move the page to the Misplaced Pages namespace rather than the article space. However, from what you've written so far, the WikiCladogram Project appears to be a non-Misplaced Pages proejct because it says that pages should contain links to their corresponding Misplaced Pages project. If this is the case, then a Misplaced Pages page would be innappropriate under our notability guidelines for articles about websites. savidan 19:56, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Abortion page edits

Hey, Jfraatz. Thanks for the thought of adding fetal rights to the abortion article. Severa has reverted your last edit because I changed your earlier edit such that fetal rights was added to the article, but in the See Also section. The sentence you created with your addition was somewhat odd. So, rather than get into an edit war, any further discussion should be on the abortion Talk page. --BCSWowbagger 23:07, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

AfD

Please do not take AfD nominations personally. The fact of the matter is that there were no clear, accessible sources listed in the article before Goldom amended your formatting error. The numbered citations were deadlinks and the "External links" section was assumed to be just that — an external links section — not a "Reference" or "Source" list. You can refer to the Manual of Style if you need information on how to correctly format a Misplaced Pages article. Refer to WP:V, WP:CITE, WP:RS, and WP:OR for information on standards of sourcing.

The fact that SB_Johnny and Jll both refered to the article as being "POV" on the AfD page, and Byrgenwulf agreed it was an "unencyclopaedic essay," suggest to me that issues of neutrality have not been resolved. Misplaced Pages is a community project, and just because Gwernol does not object, does not mean that others will not (see WP:OWN). WP:NPOV is a founding tenant of Misplaced Pages, and an especially important rule among controversial, hot-button articles, so it is unacceptable to let non-neutral, emotively-charged terms like "unborn child" or "fetal person" slide "for the sake of the argument."

It is my belief that the subject, in its current state, does not warrant a seperate article, and should be merged to fetal protection, abortion debate, or person.

Please slow down on creating these paleontological micro-stubs. There is little benefit to making a plethora of unsourced, unlinked, uncategorized articles, and the cleanup burden falls to other editors. I feel the page title should either be renamed to match the species name, OR the lead sentence should refer to the genus, and then subsequently introduce the specific name. E.g. "Lagenanectes is an extinct genus of elasmosaurid plesiosaur ... the type and only known species is L. richterae". With a little bit more expansion, this article would make a great Did You Know.

Reproductive Rights

I reverted your change to this page, as removal of a central focus of the article's subject to an "Also, technically..." statement a full paragraph later serves to implicitly denigrate the sentence's subject in Misplaced Pages's editorial voice. Your entire response here is predicated on original research. Reproductive rights advocates include abortion access in their advocacy, and virtually all sources include it as a central right in matters of reproductive health. Your opinion as to what "scientifically speaking" abortion is or is not is irrelevant, and your continued characterization as "Orwellian" something that the vast majority of sources agree on is further evidence that you're not coming at this from a neutral point of view. I note that you already have a notice on your user talk page regarding care in edits to abortion-related pages; you would do well to heed its advice. If you want to make this change, you need to get consensus on the talk page first. Since you have not done so, the edit has already been reverted by another editor. No, what is scientifically accurate is very relevant as it is what determines what is neutral in the first place. Rejecting scientific authority makes you clearly not neutral. Furthermore, my purpose in identifying Orwellian terminology is precisely to remove non-neutral language from the article, not insert it. How can you confuse removal of non-neutral unscientific language with neutral scientifically accurate language which is its opposite? And how can you justify defining the scientific standard of neutrality as being irrelevant? Though yes I will bring this up on the talk page instead now.Jfraatz (talk) 20:44, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Do not edit war

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
