Since the close of ] six months ago, {{user|Tenmei}} has continued to edit without a mentor, at times violating other restrictions placed upon him as a result of the case. The Arbitration Committee has been unable to find a mentor for this purpose, with Tenmei rejecting one recently proposed mentor. As a result, ''Tang Dynasty'' is amended as follows, effective immediately:
*{{user|Tenmei}} is required to have at least one volunteer mentor. Until such a mentor is found, Tenmei is banned from all editing except for the express purpose of locating a mentor. During this time, Tenmei is instructed to avoid talking about other editors. ''(Amends Remedy 2.1, amendment passed 8-0)''
*The mentor(s), once found, must be identified to the community as Tenmei's mentors and be willing to be available for others to contact them either publicly or privately. ''(Passed 8-0)''
*Editors are advised to contact the mentors if they come into conflict with Tenmei. ''(Passed 8-0)''
*The restrictions placed on Tenmei in ] are reset, to take effect when a mentor is found and approved by the Arbitration Committee. ''(Passed 8-0)''
*Should Tenmei violate the requirement to have a mentor before contributing, or cause unrest whilst seeking a mentor, Tenmei may be blocked for up to a week for repeated violations. After the fifth block, the maximum block length is extended to one year. ''(Passed 6-0, two abstentions)''

I opened an ANI thread on you. This is not personal, and it's not about content (where I ''think'' I agree with you). It's about your use of language (and images, etc) on talk pages. :Enkyo, please could I ask that you engage in this discussion at AN/I, rather than suspending editing and waiting until it has been archived? Now, if you have resumed editing again could you please join the AN/I discussion? But because the old User page is now a redirect, the content was interfering with the Help page for the Japanese language template. So I deleted the content. Is that OK?<br>
:How can I be of assistance? --] (]) 01:56, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
The content is still available in the history page of your old User page (]), so you can view it at any time. And the redirect from your old User page to your new one still works properly, so I think that should be OK. If you have any problem with all of this, you can undo it simply by undoing my edit. Thanks, and thanks for your contributions to Japanese history. -- ] (]) 14:32, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, but I've had only very tangential contact with that anything you've been involved with, and your case looks like a ] to me. You are spending way too much time coming up with allegedly clever little diagrams about mentorship and thinking outside boxes, and creating user sub pages about mentorship, and editing essays about mentorship, and so on, when the purpose of the ArbCom requiring you to have a mentor or be indefinitely blocked is for you to ''listen'' and follow some guidance on how to be a constructive editor here. Becoming absorbed with the ''process'' of finding and having mentor is inimical to that. Looks like several have accepted already anyway, so best of luck. Having read and considered the issues with which your mentorship would be concerned, I can't in good conscience accept. You stated that your main issues for improvement are the "TL;DR" issue, and the issue of overly-florid language, impenetrable sentence structure, and similar stylistic concerns; the problem with me mentoring you (or anyone!) in an effort to overcome these issues is that I am cursed with the same qualities in my writing. and continue to struggle with these and other stylistic challenges myself. Metaphorically speaking, I would be leading you through the darkness with no flashlight, while myself wearing dark glasses. That would be neither fair nor helpful to you--to say nothing of your other mentors! If you have any specific questions, I would be glad to help. However, I don't know if I would be the greatest mentor. I don't have an opportunity to be online regularly. However I hope I can help you with including the "fundamentals". I have discovered that there is a prevailing attitude among some that philosophy and intellectual foundations of things are completely a waste of ones and zeros. I find that various editors (including a few serious dedicated trouble makers, but also a lot of random innocent newcomers) delete a lot of valuable material because they "don't see the need" or just nitpick things to death -- things which they don't even seem to understand. My experience is mostly in the logic department and the problems are mostly with mathematicians.

The whole "concepts and theories" effort came about because I was working on putting articles into appropriate categories, and I discovered that when I organized the philosophy department into its existing categories (philosophers, literature, etcetera) that what was left over were a lot of "isms". I am quite interested in "isms" in general and I proceeded to try to find a good way to account for them all. Unfortunately, there are a lot of different ways to categorize them (schools of thought, views, ideologies etcetera etcetera). Since I am focused on logic, I realized that what they ALL have in common is that they can be expressed as "theories". (I.e. a set of true sentences T:{t1,t2,t3, ...} ) So I set up the whole "philosophical theories" category. Unfortunately, there is resistance to that plan also. For some articles some people insist that it isn't a "theory" because they don't really understand what a theory is --(I'm sure they are mislead by the whole "evolution is ''just a theory'' " crowd. Those people are just confused). Anyway, its still mostly working out fine.

The best advise I can give is to be patient, and remember that you won't always be able to get what you want, even if it's true and supported by sources. This place is very political. ==Treaties on Kashmir ==

Various scholars have written on the Instrument of Accession (Jammu and Kashmir), The Treaty of Lahore (9 March 1846) and the Treaty of Amritsar (16 March 1846). But very little of that text is on wikipedia.

Maharaja gulab Singh originally worked for the Sikh Empire. But then betrayed the Sikh empire by siding with the East India Company in the Anglo-Sikh War. His name is mentioned in the treaty of Lahore too. He collected Taxes for the East India Company and the money was then given by him to the East India Company.

The Treaty of Lahore (9 March 1846) and the Treaty of Amritsar (16 March 1846) lapsed under Article 7 of the . The Act was passed by the British Parliament on July 18, 1947 to assent to the creation of the independent states of India and Pakistan. The aforementioned Article 7 provides that, with the lapse of His Majesty’s suzerainty over the Indian states, all treaties, agreements, obligations, grants, usages and sufferance’s will lapse.

The 7 year old Maharaja Duleep Singh Bahadur (Sikh) was under the control of the East India company when he sign The Treaty of Lahore on 9 March 1846 which gave Jammu and Kashmir and its people to the East India Company.

Under the British legal system and international law a treaty signed by the 7 year old Maharaja Duleep Singh Bahadur and under duress is not valid. (The International Court of Justice has stated that there "can be little doubt, as is implied in the Charter of the United Nations and recognized in Article 52 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, that under contemporary international law an agreement concluded under the threat or use of force is void.)

We may need to add a section on the impact on the removal of Article 370 of the Indian constitution on The Instrument of Accession too.
None of this text is on there.

Various scholars have written on these treaties, for example Alistair Lamb disputed the validity of the Instrument of Accession in his paper

Where he writes ''"While the date, and perhaps even the fact, of the accession to India of the State of Jammu & Kashmir in late October 1947 can be questioned, there is no dispute at that time any such accession was presented to the world at large as conditional and provisional. It was not communicated to Pakistan at the outset of the overt Indian intervention in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, nor was it presented in facsimile to the United Nations in early 1948 as part of the initial Indian reference to the Security Council. The 1948 White Paper in which the Government of India set out its formal case in respect to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, does not contain the Instrument of Accession as claimed to have been signed by the Maharajah: instead, it reproduces an unsigned form of Accession such as, it is implied, the Maharajah might have signed. To date no satisfactory original of this Instrument as signed by the Maharajah has been produced: though a highly suspect version, complete with the false date 26 October 1947, has been circulated by the Indian side since the 1960s. On the present evidence it is by no means clear that the Maharaja ever did sign an Instrument of Accession.''

''Indian troops actually began overtly to intervene in the State’s affairs on the morning of 27 October 1947''

''It is now absolutely clear that the two documents (a) the Instrument of Accession, and (c) the letter to Lord Mountbatten, could not possibly have been signed by the Maharajah of Jammu & Kashmir on 26 October 1947. The earliest possible time and date for their signature would have to be the afternoon of 27 October 1947. During 26 October 1947 the Maharajah of Jammu & Kashmir was travelling by road from Srinagar to Jammu. (The Kashmir State Army divisions and the Kashmiri people had already turned on him and he was on the run and had no authority in the state). His new Prime Minister, M.C. Mahajan, who was negotiating with the Government of India, and the senior Indian official concerned in State matters, V.P. Menon, were still in New Delhi where they remained overnight, and where their presence was noted by many observers. There was no communication of any sort between New Delhi and the travelling Maharajah. Menon and Mahajan set out by air from New Delhi to Jammu at about 10.00 a.m. on 27 October; and the Maharajah learned from them for the first time the result of his Prime Minister’s negotiations in New Delhi in the early afternoon of that day. The key point, of course, as has already been noted above, is that it is now obvious that these documents could only have been signed after the overt Indian intervention in the State of Jammu & Kashmir on 27 October 1947. When the Indian troops arrived at Srinagar air field, that State was still independent. Any agreements favourable to India signed after such intervention cannot escape the charge of having been produced under duress. (The International Court of Justice has stated that there "can be little doubt, as is implied in the Charter of the United Nations and recognized in Article 52 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, that under contemporary international law an agreement concluded under the threat or use of force is void.)"''

Additionally Maharaja was on the run. The prevailing international practice on the recognition of state governments is based on the following three factors: first, the government’s actual control of the territory; second, the government’s enjoyment of the support and obedience of the majority of the population; third, the government’s ability to stake the claim that it has a reasonable expectation of staying in power. The situation on the ground demonstrates that the Maharaja was not in control of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and was fleeing for his life and almost all of Kashmir was under the control of the Kashmiri people and the Kashmiri Army that had rebelled against him. His own troops had turned on him. With regard to the Maharaja’s control over the local population, it is clear that he enjoyed no such control or support. The people of Kashmir had been sold by the East India Company and he charged them high taxes thetefore the Kashmir Muslims, Hindus Pandits and Buddhists hated him. Furthermore, the state’s armed forces were in total disarray after most of the men turned against him and he was running for his life. Finally, it is highly doubtful that the Maharaja could claim that his government had a reasonable chance of staying in power without Indian military intervention. This assumption is substantiated by the Maharaja’s letters.

Many of these treaties apply to Jammu and Kashmir. The is already on Misplaced Pages. It is internationally recognized as a disputed territory under various United United Nations resolutions that are already listed on Misplaced Pages , ,, . There is a lot of documentation on Jammu and Kashmir in the UN already. If you look at the page , it already contains sections on the "Indian view", "Pakistani view", "Chinese view", "Kashmiri views". May be we could do something like that with these treaty pages. The Treaty of Lahore was signed in 9 March 1846 and the Treaty of Amritsar 16 March 1846. They predate the creation of both modern day India and Pakistan. The Treaty of Lahore was signed between the Sikh Empire and the British government. It is an international treaty and comes under international law. ] (]) 11:36, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

::Currently the pages on Jammu and Kashmir are very fragmented. Its difficult to navigate through the pages. May be have a page on the treaties that apply to Jammu and Kashmir and link these to actual history events. The reader could then click on a link, obtain a more indepth knowledge of the treaty, its relationship with other treaties and the events surrounding it. Therefore providing them with a more educational understanding of these treaties. There is a lot of literature on these treaties, that we could use for references. There are also multiple parties to these treaties and we could link to them too. Many books and scholarly papers have been published illustrating the details surrounding these treaties. May be also create subsections on these pages illustrating the views of the Government of India, The view of the Government of Pakistan and the view of the Kashmiri Parties, The Government of China, The United Nations, The Sikh Empire and the British Government on these treaties. On Misplaced Pages we have the text on the various treaties but it does not show how these treaties relate to one another. We need show how they relate to one another and the events on the ground. We need to enhance the experience of the reader. ] (]) 14:54, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Usurpation of the account Enkyo

Hi, Enkyo2. I saw you tried to rename to Enkyo and it was declined because the name was already registered to a global account. However, if it passed years since the last edit of the account, the usurpation of the account is available. It will take about ten days after your request if no response to an email notification returned. You can try and leave it for ten days. ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 08:52, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Nippon Era's

Hi I noticed that you contributed a lot to these articles (your name kept propping up in the talk pages) - do you think those era's should be merged together? I mean the Taika (645–650) Hakuchi (650–654) Shuchō (686–686) Taihō (701–704) Keiun (704–708) Wadō (708–715) periods? NarSakSasLee (talk) 16:35, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

It is not clear why you seem to suggest that articles about specific Japanese era names should be merged. For example, each of these articles is an independent subject with explicit and different support cited from more than one reliable source:
For me, the point of your question is not understood. --Enkyo2 12:38, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Re: Moving of "X family" to "X clan"

Regarding the series of moves your Ansei account made at the start of May, could you be a bit more careful? Most, if not all, of them were/are branches of Fujiwara/Minamoto/... clans, rather than clans themselves. I've already moved Nijo back, and will work on the others in a bit if you don't wanna do it yourself. Cheers! Hijiri 88 (やや) 13:48, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

"Jimmu" and others

Enkyo, why did you violate WP:SELFREF when you had clearly already seen on the talk page where I had pointed you to the Misplaced Pages style guideline where we have an established consensus on how to romanize that?? Hijiri 88 (やや) 15:57, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Enkyo,

I opened an ANI thread on you. This is not personal, and it's not about content (where I think I agree with you). It's about your use of language (and images, etc) on talk pages. Very difficult to understand. Maybe someone needs to teach you how to communicate on Misplaced Pages. This seemed the easiest way.

Cheers!

Hijiri 88 (やや) 14:09, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Enkyo2, I haven't had time to look at this but appears to be the same old; I think you're a great, v.interesting, and v.informative communicator; my advice would be not to get bogged down in discussion with someone who thinks fit to write like this but to move on to one of the tens of thousands of other pages which need your time and learning, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 21:37, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
Links to related threads are here and here. --Enkyo2 (talk) 13:16, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

I added an inline-note here which mirrors WP:MOS-JA#Syllabic "n". A review of the guideline page history shows that these sentences were drafted by Jpatokal in 2004 here and the section was created by Nihonjoe in 2008 here. The guideline suggests "Use Google to check popularity if in doubt, and create a redirect from the n version" -- compare the list of Google Books Ngram Viewer results posted by Kusunose here.

Since 2009, there have been similar notes in the first paragraphs of articles about Emperor Temmu, Emperor Kimmei, Emperor Mommu, Empress Gemmei and Emperor Kammu -- compare Talk:Emperor Temmu#Tenmu vs Temmu. These spelling notes were each deleted by Hijiri88 with unhelpful edit summaries:

  • 14:05, 22 August 2013 diff . . Emperor Temmu ‎ (WP:SELFREF, WP:POINT.)
  • 14:08, 22 August 2013 diff . . Emperor Kimmei ‎ (WP:SELFREF; WP:POINT.)
  • 14:12, 22 August 2013 diff . . Emperor Mommu ‎ (WP:SELFREF; WP:POINT.)
  • 14:16, 22 August 2013 diff . . Empress Gemmei ‎ (WP:SELFREF; WP:POINT.)
  • 14:19, 22 August 2013 diff . . Emperor Kammu ‎ (WP:SELFREF; WP:POINT.)

This is moving in the wrong direction. --Enkyo2 (talk) 20:09, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

A review of the edit histories of these articles and most others about the Japanese emperors reveals a cross-checking system of cited sources. This includes Delmer Brown's 1980 translation of Gukanshō and H. Paul Varley's 1979 translation of Jinnō Shōtōki -- compare List of Emperors of Japan#Notes. See JSTOR reviews of Brown's work here and Varley's work here. --Enkyo2 (talk) 12:57, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Enkyo, please could I ask that you engage in this discussion at AN/I, rather than suspending editing and waiting until it has been archived? It may be a coincidence that you restarted editing just after the previous thread was archived, bit if so it's an unfortunate one as it gives the appearance of trying to escape scrutiny. Now, if you have resumed editing again could you please join the AN/I discussion? To be honest, I find Hijiri's complaints a little shrill and repetitive, but equally I have to say that I find your communication style opaque and unhelpful. The problem between the two of you is not going to go away if we ignore it. Please join the discussion. Kim Dent-Brown 15:27, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Enkyo, I looked at your contribs to see whether you had again ceased editing while the new ANI thread is open and found this. I assume it's your response to the ANI thread but I strongly advise against you posting it in this form. As it stands it entirely vindicates Hijiri's point that your communication is verbose to the point of impenetrability. Post it if you will, but expect that it will make your opponent's point for them rather than strengthening your own position. Kim Dent-Brown 21:40, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Bank of Canada (logo).gif)

Thanks for uploading File:Bank of Canada (logo).gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 20:59, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Blocked

Per the results of the recent ANI thread about you , I have blocked you from editing for an indefinite period. You may appeal for an unblock (to the community or to Arbcom) if and when you can demonstrate that you have understood what has been wrong about your communicative behaviour, and can make a credible commitment to improve. Until such time, I am afraid the community has run out of patience with you and you must be prevented from editing. Fut.Perf. 12:30, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Cleanup for old User page

Hi, Enkyo2! This is to let you know that I have blanked the content from your old User page (User:Ansei). That page is now a redirect to your current User page (this page), so nobody will ever see the content. But because the old User page is now a redirect, the content was interfering with the Help page for the Japanese language template. So I deleted the content. Is that OK?
The content is still available in the history page of your old User page (User:Ansei), so you can view it at any time. And the redirect from your old User page to your new one still works properly, so I think that should be OK. If you have any problem with all of this, you can undo it simply by undoing my edit. Thanks, and thanks for your contributions to Japanese history. -- Margin1522 (talk) 14:32, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Tom L. Humphries

The article Tom L. Humphries has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Tom L. Humphriesnews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability. Please see the plain-language summary of our notability guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Art Loss Register

The article Art Loss Register has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Company founded in 1991 which supposed to track stolen art -- for a fee -- but I see no evidence that it's well-known or successful. Very few references, and what few are reliable are mentions of the organization which spun off this as a business -- and which organization (International Foundation for Art Research) doesn't appear to be very notable, either. Article created as part of a spamming ring awhile back.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Treaties on Kashmir

The Treaty of Lahore (9 March 1846) and the Treaty of Amritsar (16 March 1846) lapsed under Article 7 of the Independence Act 1947.

Various scholars have written on these treaties, for example Alistair Lamb disputed the validity of the Instrument of Accession in his paper Myth of Indian Claim to JAMMU & KASHMIR –– A REAPPRAISAL'

Where he writes "While the date, and perhaps even the fact, of the accession to India of the State of Jammu & Kashmir in late October 1947 can be questioned, there is no dispute at that time any such accession was presented to the world at large as conditional and provisional. On the present evidence it is by no means clear that the Maharaja ever did sign an Instrument of Accession.

Indian troops actually began overtly to intervene in the State’s affairs on the morning of 27 October 1947

It is now absolutely clear that the two documents (a) the Instrument of Accession, and (c) the letter to Lord Mountbatten, could not possibly have been signed by the Maharajah of Jammu & Kashmir on 26 October 1947. (The International Court of Justice has stated that there "can be little doubt, as is implied in the Charter of the United Nations and recognized in Article 52 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, that under contemporary international law an agreement concluded under the threat or use of force is void.)"

The Kashmir conflict is already on Misplaced Pages. It is internationally recognized as a disputed territory under various United United Nations resolutions that are already listed on Misplaced Pages Nations Security Council Resolution 47, Nations Security Council Resolution 39,mediation of the Kashmir dispute, Nations Commission for India and Pakistan. There is a lot of documentation on Jammu and Kashmir in the UN archives already. If you look at the page Kashmir conflict, it already contains sections on the "Indian view", "Pakistani view", "Chinese view", "Kashmiri views". Johnleeds1 (talk) 11:36, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Currently the pages on Jammu and Kashmir are very fragmented. Johnleeds1 (talk) 14:54, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Japan-German treaty 150th.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Japan-German treaty 150th.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Misplaced Pages. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 廣九直通車 (talk) 09:52, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kim Korean book cover.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Kim Korean book cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. 廣九直通車 (talk) 10:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kim Korean book cover.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Kim Korean book cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Misplaced Pages may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Misplaced Pages:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:16, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

Notice

The article Japan Society for the Promotion of Science has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There really is no valid claim to notability, and no secondary sourcing to verify it. See history for material that read like it came straight from the organization's website.
