:No reason at all Nuke. In this instance it just didn't occur to me for some reason, and perhaps because LadyofShalott had specifically offered to move articles for me (at least I think she did) I went to her first. If you check her talk page you'll see I asked her about a couple of other deleted articles also.
:Asking the admin who closed the AfD has usually been the way I do it and usually that works out just fine. I've had a couple of occasions where someone has been antagonistic or ignored the request, but I think it's probably a good idea to approach things that way. In this case, as I said, I just asked her because she had offered, and it wasn't even something I thought about, she just seemed like a good person to ask. :) I'm not even sure about recreation or how best to handle those articles (the one you closed and a couple others). I haven't even had a chance to review them much yet, and I don't think I was involved in any of the AfD discussions so they're all new subject to me. I saw them noted in various other places, the food and drink website, Milowent's website, and ummm not sure on the other one.
:Anyway, I hadn't done a request for userfication in a while, so I guess I just forgot the routine. I do think the last time I requested one the admin gave me a hard time and forced me to take it DRV, which was seemed like an unnecesairly confrontational route since it was something I just wanted userfied so I could give it consideration, so maybe subconsciously that's why I didn't think to look who closed the AfD, but truly it was not intentional or conscious and it most certainly didn't have anything to do with you, who've I've found to be collegial and respectful even on occasions where we disagree (which is how it should be and how other admins I respect (like LoS) handle themselves. And it's not even a case where I necessarily disagree with the outcome. I just wanted the opportunity to see what was there and if any of it could be useful. But I think you're question is spot on and that it's best to ask the closing admin and I will try to remember to do so in the future. How are things with you? A little muddy this year, but I don't think anyone minded frolicking in the slop. :) Many articles went up during the challenge, several DYKs ran yesterday for ] and a bunch more of tardy ones are working there way through the queue now. We had a lot more participants this time, lots of photo uploads, Cirt worked up some GAs (which was a first), and there was a Bacon Wiki Cup that's still being scored (results are due after the 7th), so it's been pretty neat.
