In the 1970's the separate Omaha Public School District was subjected to federal court-imposed busing sanctions. District 66, as a separate district in the center of Omaha, was not subject to busing. As a result, a premium was placed on houses for sale in District 66. Presently, the Omaha Public School District is taking action to annex the Millard Public School District in West Omaha. In response to the perceived danger to District 66, many yard signs have appeared in District 66 with the slogan "Westside Forever." | |||
