I wouldn't say that the art-style looks like the anime-style. In fact, that's why I didn't like the game that much. I mean, if that's chibi, then so is every "toon" in the United States. ] 15:51, 31 January 2005 (UTC) |

Yes, there have been grappling devices before — '']'' introduced the Hookshot that has since been featured in the majority of subsequent ''Zelda'' titles — but the Grappling Hook in this case is a proper "hook" with rope. It also probably operates differently (I've never played ''The Wind Waker''). But a mention could be made that it is the intellectual descendant of the Hookshot. |

Remember, the idea with Misplaced Pages is that if you see something wrong you can change it. Just feel free to correct anything and everything to the way you want it, and if others don't like an edit they'll change it some more. Just ] and go wild! :) ]] 6 July 2005 21:59 (UTC) |

:The hookshot is in ''The Wind Waker'' as well. The grappling hook has a three-pronged claw and can be used for either hooking round branches (or similar features) and swinging from them, or thrown at enemies to steal spoils, hearts and other items. It can also be used on the King of Red Lions to pull up treasure chests from the ocean floor. The hookshot is pretty much the same as it is in ''Ocarina of Time'' and '']'' from what I recall. ] 7 July 2005 07:24 (UTC) |

::I have almost finished ''The Wind Waker'' and have discovered the Hookshot. I didn't realise it was included in the game, and is similar to the Grappling Hook (however, as Ian Moody mentioned, it works differently). The only other Zelda game I have played is ''Ocarina of Time'', which was quite a while ago, and I think you started out with a Hookshot, and then later upgraded to a Longshot. Both are different from the grappling hook. I am ignorant no more. :) (I'm going to edit the strange sentence now.) ] 15:58, 3 September 2005 (UTC) |

I've twice reverted parts of the recent edits to the introduction. The reason is that the previous version read better than the changes. Specifically: |

I have a question about the second ''Wind Waker'' quest: are there any other differences from the first other than the clothes of link and his sis, the DX camera, location of treasures, and the ability to understand Hylian? Do any of those things make the game worth playing again? I'm just a Zelda fanboy who needs to know!! Thanks. ] 08:33, 18 October 2005 (UTC) |

*The following sentence is phrased awkwardly: "The element of ] has a prominent role, by facilitating sailing and being controlled with a magic conductor's baton called the Wind Waker." |
*The following sentence introduces passive voice: "Instead, a distinctive cartoon-like art style was created through ], originating the ']' character." (I also don't think the sentence benefits from being broken up). |
*Calling the art direction "whimsical": I don't think this is the right word choice. At any rate the previous paragraph already establishes what the art direction is like. |
*The article verifies that the divisiveness among North American players contributed to weaker sales in comparison to Ocarina of Time, in fact this is a pretty significant part of the game's history. Removing that hurts the flow. |
*"As a result, the subsequent '']'' (2006) has a more natural and serious look." This doesn't flow right. As a result of what exactly? As a result ''of comparatively weak sales'', Nintendo changed directions with the visuals. As a result of that decision, Twilight Princess has a more realistic style (I don't think that "natural and serious" are the right word choices) |
*Splitting the sentence on the character's allies and activities strikes me as unnecessary, but I'm open to this if others support the change. |
There are some good changes that I'll restore, and others that should be made. In general this introduction has suffered from content creep over the years; I'll get to work on fixing that.--] ]/] 20:29, 8 August 2020 (UTC) |

I'm aware that the two versions (OG and HD) have separate articles, but at the end of the day they're the same game at its core. Pages where the remasters are merged with the original game (] and ]) don't have either marked as exclusive for their respective consoles (Xenoblade's remaster in particular has WAY more identity than Wind Waker's in my eyes). I could totally be wrong with this thinking, and if I am, I'd appreciate a link to Misplaced Pages's policies on remakes (if such a page even exists). This article lacks images; the one that currently sits in the article is not very flavoured as it displays the backside of ]. If a screenshot demonstrating the use of cell-shading should be present in the article, I believe that it should, in the least, feature Link facing the camera. If not, perhaps an up-close-and-personal view point from the protagonist's eyes could be desirable. Also, an image of The Great Sea in general would add flavour to the article (one similar to that of '']''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s ]). A map of The Great Sea (one similar to that of ''Majora Mask''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s ]) would also be rewarding. Personally, I believe that an image of the King of Red Lions should be included as well, considering that he supplies a major role in ''Wind Waker''. Any thoughts, suggestions? ] 02:23, 23 January 2006 (UTC) |
