Russian disinformation?

I just noticed some information that I have never read or seen before. The references are all in Russian and written during the Soviet era when most things were redacted, censored or propagandized. − − − − I don't think these sources are very reliable. It now sounds as if the Soviets did quite well in Egypt when the truth is that they were probably humiliated and wished to hide this part of their history.

A fact from Operation Rimon 20 appeared on Misplaced Pages's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 February 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that on July 30, 1970, Israeli and Soviet fighter pilots battled in the skies over Egypt in an engagement codenamed Rimon 20? A record of the entry may be seen at Misplaced Pages:Recent additions/2010/February.

Sounds like an essay

incorrect information

Why is Capt.Kamenev signed as KIA? Only four MiG-21 was lost this day and three pilots killed - Zhuravlev, Yurchenko and Jakovlev. No more. One MiG landed in reserve airstrip and returned to home base in next day, this is why some anecdotes about fifth jet start way in egyptian side. Asher Snir was hit by Yurchenko (who is Ivlev?). Complete crap

These cold war stories are not based on any evidences! All "facts" are gathered from Israeli sources and there are no other objective informations. The names of the "killed soviet pilots" are not proven anyway. Just a subjective article, there are NO objective sources from a neutral point of view or any Russian sources available. --Saiga 13:11, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The article and everything in it are properly referenced. If you've got issues with the contents, feel free to provide contradictory information. "Complete crap" is not an argument. Poliocretes (talk) 06:42, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
