::Not a prob. The article looked better last time I checked it. You can respond to comments left on your talk page either here (I edited it a little to make the conversation easier to read), on the talk page of the person who left the comment, or both (as you did :) ). Well, sometimes I don't feel the edit deserves a warning for various reasons. For example, I usually don't warn people for "ZOMG!! I can't believe they actually let you edit this!!!11!!" type edits because I have seen a few cases where I warned someone for that and they started vandalizing (I'm not sure if it was connected, but it's definitely possible). Also, there are some cases where I don't really want to let the vandal know that their edit has been reverted because they will come back to vandalize the page again. ]]] 04:11, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi - I got a message from you with respect to my user address. Your assessment was absolutely correct, in that the IP address is registered to the City of Toronto (where I work). To be clear, I registered as soon as I started coming to Misplaced Pages, and don't make ANY edits unless I'm logged on. Additionally, if you check the records, you will see that I registered around the end of Aug, 2008, which is when I began coming here. I say this to myself as much as I say it to all of us. I work a lot by myself or with individual editors who spend time at ]. It seems on November 5 a fog was lifted off my brain that helped me realize that we have massive potential in this project to get things done. Take this allegory, for instance: ''On Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1980, my 10th-grade American history teacher started class by unfurling The New York Times. She pointed to its triple banner headline: “Reagan Easily Beats Carter; Republicans Gain in Congress; D’Amato and Dodd are Victors.” “Save this paper,” she told us. “This is the start of a whole new era.”''

It definitely seems a start to a whole new era now. If planets align correctly to remind us that whatever advances we may have made in electing what appears to be an ] in the US, the moons that revolve around those planets also serve to illustrate it's not that simple. Florida, Arizona, and California all appear to have banned ]. As someone who was married in California and lives in Florida, this is particularly poignant. We seem to be at the juncture of two converging paths. If we maximize our efforts and take the right ones, we might just be able to affect some change for ourselves.
== thanks for the info ==

;'''The power of Misplaced Pages and ]'''
The way it was written was one sided with derogatory comments such as "supporters of the status quo". I attempted to bring some balance to the article. It probably needs a controversy section with both for and against. By the way, I also wrote the section on lethal injection drugs... I used to moonlight in a neurosurgical ICU and I managed patients in medical induced comas. In addition, I have lots of experience with give phenobarbital for DTs. The original is on my blog. :)
Though what we do is an interesting hobby for some, we have the power to make a difference. California's ballot initiative to ban gay marriage was a fierce fight. It's being challenged right now, but just look at how Misplaced Pages played a role in that: in October 2008, 360,238 people read its article. On November 5, an astounding . I commend the editors who work on that article—both those who support and oppose it. A look at the talk page shows a concerted effort to keep it civil and accurate.
Either way, I was just seeing how wikipedia works. If it eventually gets modifed by everyone to be completely against lethal injection without balance, there is no point...

I would advise (I am but a lowly gnome, but I would advise) that it be kept out of the article - she tried inserting it several times in the past few days, sometimes with a citation and sometimes without, but a citation won't make something true, and antifeminism is alive and well. Quality does matter on wikipedia, as does protocol that demonstrates respect for the views and work of other editors. Your edits do things such as delete people who are clearly notable and add people who have no current evidence of notability. ''The city is situated in the vicinity of the Gutâi and Igniş Mountains'' and then ''The city is situated in the Baia Mare valley''
== why now? ==

History, is very difficult to read, as there is a free translation from Romanian language with no paraghraphs. Moreover, some wording is nonsense such as ''Bronze Epoch''

The Natives sections, which by the way, I created, include some not very important names, such as Balmos, a footballer who never played above the fourth league. I just wanted to clean it up. Finally, the article presents a distorted reality, which you can't tell it because you do (did) not live in the town. For example, how come Baia Mare can be named "city"?!

But I had enough. Unless you apology to me, I am out of here.

Dear Friend,

== CNN Article - Got some citations for you. Please Help Me with the Unreliably Sourced Statement ==

Hi. I saw your comments on the CNN talk page in which you claimed - in response to another user's claims that CNN had a liberal bias - "Please add citations to back your claims. Avoid using weasel words when making claims." Well, here are some peer-reviewed, scholarly articles to back that claim:
::-->Jeffrey N. Weatherly, et al, “Perceptions of Political Bias in the Headlines of Two Major News Organizations,” ''Harvard International Journal of Press/Politics'' (2007) (12), 91 at p. 97 (finding that “Overall, participants . . . rated the headlines from CNN as significantly more liberal than those from FOX News. . . . CNN tilted more to the left than did FOX News. The conclusion that CNN’s headlines were perceived as more liberal than FOX News’, rather than FOX News’ headlines’ being perceived as more conservative than CNN’s, is supported by the finding that overall, the headlines from FOX News were rated slightly on the liberal side of neutral. If FOX News’ headlines had been perceived as biased toward the conservative viewpoint, then the overall ratings should have exceeded 50 percent.”)
::-->Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, Harvard University, & Project for Excellence in Journalism, “The Invisible Primary – Invisible No Longer: A First Look at Coverage of the 2008 Presidential Campaign,” p. 32 (noting that “The CNN programming studied tended to cast a negative light on Republican candidates—by a margin of three-to-one. Four-in-ten stories (41%) were clearly negative while just 14% were positive and 46% were neutral. The network provided negative coverage of all three main candidates with McCain fairing the worst (63% negative) and Romney fairing a little better than the others only because a majority of his coverage was neutral.”)
Please note that at the beginning of the CNN article (fourth paragraph down), the following statement appears: "Among the general public, CNN has a more centrist perception.” The source for this proposition is ], FAIR being a “progressive media criticism organization” whose “target invariably is bias on the right” . Needless to say, FAIR is not a reliable source. Will you please help me to get rid of this statement on the CNN article? It not only is backed by a patently biased source, it is actually '''REFUTED''' by peer-reviewed, university-sanctioned sources. Thanks. ] (]) 03:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I already contacted the press secretary in charge on the department, which deals with article and pictures for that Gov. wing.

The article is 100% typed by me, using the data offered (reputable + confirmed) in translation. The picture is 100% free of copyrights issues, since all press releases (printed/electronic) are required to be under law (Dominican Republic derechos intelectuales en publicaciones de caracter publico, en uso de medios del estado *Ley organica de derechos reservados en la prensa estatal, art 301 guion 2 sec 5 derechos de prensa y publicaciones de caracter oficial y del estado) for public/gov issues.

Being this a gov office, timing is not one of their best assets...

Hi Kukini. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Misplaced Pages, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. Hello, sir. Regarding this block, they've vandalised their talk page at this diff, so using another IP I've given them a Level 4im warning. However, they've vandalised First Amendment to the United States Constitution at this edit. I don't know why it was blocked for only 24 hours, anyway. --79.74.68.121 (talk) 07:50, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: my talk page

Well, sometimes I don't feel the edit deserves a warning for various reasons. For example, I usually don't warn people for "ZOMG!! I can't believe they actually let you edit this!!!11!!" type edits because I have seen a few cases where I warned someone for that and they started vandalizing (I'm not sure if it was connected, but it's definitely possible). Also, there are some cases where I don't really want to let the vandal know that their edit has been reverted because they will come back to vandalize the page again. Need advice

Hi Kukini, I have a question and thought of you. I was asked by another editor to help with a dispute and I think the original issue is solved. However, the other editor involved has multiple accounts that are declared on the individual account pages. The article involved has been heavily edited by this user under all three accounts. Although I cannot find any malicious edits, would this be condidered sockpuppetry? The article involved is Paella and the other editor is User:LuisGomez111. Your help would be appreciated. Shinerunner (talk) 21:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Problem solved, the editor in question was indeed using sockpuppets and has had his accounts blocked.Shinerunner (talk) 11:02, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah

Please do your research before performing erroneous reverts. All Muslims believe the same thing regarding Jesus. 69.115.150.3 (talk) 19:50, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Not even all Christians believe the same thing regarding Jesus. --Kukini 19:51, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I fail to see how that is relevant. 69.115.150.3 (talk) 19:53, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
It is erroneous to state that all of any group believe the same thing about anything. Although, you might say that certain beliefs are common, for example: Jesus in Islam. Kukini 19:55, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Really? Where does that article indicate there is a difference of beliefs among Muslims? The only place you may find a difference is among the Ahmadis, an ostracized group. Even then, Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah is not an Ahmadi and that section about Jesus in his article is therefore redundant. 69.115.150.3 (talk) 20:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I left off the item you deleted. Although I do not agree that all Muslims or all Christians or all Hindus believe the same thing about pretty much anything. It is far to sweeping of a generalization. Perhaps the wording in the wiki article I referenced needs to be cleaned for accuracy. Peace,Kukini 20:09, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

The record of incidents for this IP address go back for MONTHS before that! Wake up WP:LGBT! It's time to kick in gear and get some things done!

Project News
Wake up!

I say this to myself as much as I say it to all of us. I work a lot by myself or with individual editors who spend time at Featured Article Candidates. It seems on November 5 a fog was lifted off my brain that helped me realize that we have massive potential in this project to get things done. Take this allegory, for instance: On Wednesday, Nov. “This is the start of a whole new era.” Judith Warner from The New York Times

It definitely seems a start to a whole new era now. If planets align correctly to remind us that whatever advances we may have made in electing what appears to be an extraordinary president in the US, the moons that revolve around those planets also serve to illustrate it's not that simple. Florida, Arizona, and California all appear to have banned same sex marriage. As someone who was married in California and lives in Florida, this is particularly poignant. We seem to be at the juncture of two converging paths. If we maximize our efforts and take the right ones, we might just be able to affect some change for ourselves.

The power of Misplaced Pages and California Proposition 8 (2008)

Though what we do is an interesting hobby for some, we have the power to make a difference. California's ballot initiative to ban gay marriage was a fierce fight. It's being challenged right now, but just look at how Misplaced Pages played a role in that: in October 2008, 360,238 people read its article. On November 5, an astounding 467,000 people read it. I commend the editors who work on that article—both those who support and oppose it. A look at the talk page shows a concerted effort to keep it civil and accurate.

What can we do?

How do you fight ignorance? With information. That's what Misplaced Pages is for. This project is overwhelming with 8,576 articles in its scope. We can continue to work piecemeal as we have in the past, or we can focus on goals. These are examples of areas we can concentrate on.

Current political events LGBT Media and Literature LGBT History Sex and sexuality
Articles about political issues in the US and around the world that have been especially relevant within the past 5 years Depictions of LGBT people and issues on television, film, newspapers, magazines Topics about gay rights activism and the opposition to it Articles relating to sex and sexuality
Florida Amendment 2 (2008), California Proposition 8 (2008), E.O. Green School shooting, etc. The Advocate, Curve (magazine), Washington Blade, Milk (film), Brokeback Mountain, etc. Moral Majority, ACT UP, Queer Nation, Mattachine Society, Jesse Helms, Jerry Falwell, Mathew Shepard, etc. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, sexual and gender expression, etc.

There are more than 8,000 articles to work on. Can we build a list of priorities? Can we build enough enthusiasm to work on these? What if we had editors who oversaw progress in these areas and reported to the talk page or in the newsletter? Surely someone here wants to report on the progress of sex articles.

Tony Perkins (irony) from the conservative Family Research Council was heartened by the recent passages of gay marriage bans. The Republican Party is without direction. What's going to take the place of a moderate voice will not be pleasant to our ears. Watching and improving articles of subjects that have opposed gay rights in the past will be of vital importance very soon, I predict.

But WP:LGBT is not a very active project

All we can do is start somewhere. The first step is answering this newsletter on the project talk page. Join in the discussion.

More things we can do
  • Give out more barnstars, and let each other know that what they're doing is valued.
  • Create a guide to stave off burnout, because editors in this project get burned out faster than others. There are many hills to climb.
  • Bring back the monthly collaboration project.
  • Participate in LGBT Peer reviews.
  • Get familiar with the characteristics of Good Articles and get our top priority articles to WP:GA.
  • Keep our project page and open tasks template updated.
  • Use the Newsletter, Moni3! You can suggest what to send out in the newsletter, too!
  • Offer research materials, copy editing, ideas, and support to your fellow editors.
  • Keep the project talk page informed of problems and discussions we should know about.
Proposal: Put Importance Levels on articles

If this was decided long before I was a member, maybe it's time to revisit it. Other WikiProjects, such as WP:Novels determine that some subjects have an importance category: Top, High, Mid, Low, or None (undetermined). If we decide that our most core articles, it might help to organize which articles to address first. Top importance, for example, would be Gay, Homosexual, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Sappho, Oscar Wilde, Stonewall riots, for example. High importance would be Homosexuality and psychology, Harvey Milk, Mattachine Society, Harry Hay, or Daughters of Bilitis, and so on. This can be a matter of discussion, or perhaps we could have someone in charge of determining these levels for all the articles we have tagged.

So, like Slim Whitman, "I'm Calling You"

The editors I have admired in the past, who have done great things alone, and who I think can help us all do extraordinary things now: SatyrTN, Dev920, Aleta, Becksguy, Otto4711, BelovedFreak, Benjiboi, Bookkeeper of the Occult, Queerudite, FisherQueen (I will marry you), PaulB, APK, ZigZig20s, AllStarEcho (I know you're out there), Raystorm, and my very own copy editor, Dank55.

These are the editors I've seen working (and I know I'm forgetting a few). There's more of you out there I haven't seen. Some of you are new. We need all of you. Please help.

Miami, January 18, 1977 after the gay rights ordinance was passed: While Bryant and the others were creating the beginnings of the repeal effort, (gay activists) Basker, Campbell, Kunst, and the other (gay rights) ordinance supporters congratulated themselves on their success and then quickly disbanded... There was no organized recognition or celebration of the victory. As one activist remembered, "We just went home." They had little idea of the battle that was before them. - Fred Fejes in Gay Rights and Moral Panic, 2008

Page: Feminism

Hey, thanks for reverting Denidowi's insert of that paragraph for lack of citation. I would advise (I am but a lowly gnome, but I would advise) that it be kept out of the article - she tried inserting it several times in the past few days, sometimes with a citation and sometimes without, but a citation won't make something true, and antifeminism is alive and well. Refusing to accept untrue content on Misplaced Pages is hardly censorship, whatever she may claim... Roscelese (talk) 00:44, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Baia Mare

Sorry, I use Mozilla and at the end of each session I delete all private information, therefore sometime I just forget to log in back to Misplaced Pages. However, before deleting my work, please pay a little bit of attention to see the difference. No offence. Regards, Oliviu

I am going to complain

If you delete my work I am going to complain. Please read the old article to see how badly it was written.

Baia Mare (2)

If Misplaced Pages encourage the badly written articles, like Baia Mare is right now, then I have no option but to close my account and never visit this website again. I just wanted to make a contribution to the world and to present the Baia Mare, my hometown. But it seems that for you is quantity and not quality that matters. Not to me!

User:Oliviu

Quality does matter on wikipedia, as does protocol that demonstrates respect for the views and work of other editors. Your edits do things such as delete people who are clearly notable and add people who have no current evidence of notability. Such work does not seem to be improving the article. --Kukini 14:18, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

If it does matter... what about the following

The city is situated in the vicinity of the Gutâi and Igniş Mountains and then The city is situated in the Baia Mare valley

History, is very difficult to read, as there is a free translation from Romanian language with no paraghraphs. Moreover, some wording is nonsense such as Bronze Epoch

Please see your talk page. --Kukini 15:05, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, and I should translate what I replied to him about you: "The user in question, being an administrator, is probably (not certainly, but probably) trying to help you - it's important that we assume good faith." Hopefully that will help assuage his concerns. - Biruitorul 17:34, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank You!

Dear Friend,

Thank you for the firm but friendly reminder. Sorry for not leaving reasons for editing. Sometimes I don't realize it's that important. I will from now on. I mainly "improve" articles that fail in proper English prose. And, I also wish to be thorough so the audience or readers are given more information that some articles lack.

"Duanesburg High School"

Hi there,

I was looking for a page for my old high school, Duanesburg High School, and found that one had been deleted on Feb. 11, 2008, apparently for containing negative and untrue information regarding some living person. Instead of starting a new page, is there any way to get the old one back, but with the offensive parts removed?

Thanks!!

You guessed right

Thank you for protecting the talk page of my main account. You're right: I want it indefinitely protected. I will stop my sock-puppet activity if the page remains indef protected - but otherwise, I will be back to restore that content. Again, and again, and again. I'll do it as many times as required. All that can be prevented simply by keeping the page blocked. And yes, as you've guessed, I am a sock-puppet of Skoojal. I won't be posting with this account again. Go ahead and block. Thanks for your warm welcome and editing assistance, Kukini

Hey Kukini:

Thanks so much for your warm welcome and editing assistance. As a wikipedia newbie, there's much to learn. I added much material for US and international audiences as I have taught SC abroad and in the US. I'm frustrated by the current spanner that says the article still leans primarily toward USA when it is more internationalized than it was, but we're limited by what is/is not being done by counselors outside the US on the page. Any ideas for how we can increase the internationalization even tho we know that SC is still primarily a US-centric profession; my goal in editing is to INCREASE the internationalization of SC, so I'm all for more voices here.2yummy (talk) 02:29, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Nick Sideras

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Nick Sideras, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

appears to be a "fake" article - external links either do not exist or do not mention subject at all

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. CNN Article - Got some citations for you. Please Help Me with the Unreliably Sourced Statement

Hi. I saw your comments on the CNN talk page in which you claimed - in response to another user's claims that CNN had a liberal bias - "Please add citations to back your claims. Avoid using weasel words when making claims." Well, here are some peer-reviewed, scholarly articles to back that claim:

-->Jeffrey N. Weatherly, et al, “Perceptions of Political Bias in the Headlines of Two Major News Organizations,” Harvard International Journal of Press/Politics (2007) (12), 91 at p.
-->Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, Harvard University, & Project for Excellence in Journalism, “The Invisible Primary – Invisible No Longer: A First Look at Coverage of the 2008 Presidential Campaign,” p.

Please note that at the beginning of the CNN article (fourth paragraph down), the following statement appears: "Among the general public, CNN has a more centrist perception.” The source for this proposition is FAIR, FAIR being a “progressive media criticism organization” whose “target invariably is bias on the right” . Needless to say, FAIR is not a reliable source. Will you please help me to get rid of this statement on the CNN article? It not only is backed by a patently biased source, it is actually REFUTED by peer-reviewed, university-sanctioned sources. Thanks. Jm131284 (talk) 03:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Maria Dimitrova picture rights

As indicated, I asked for the release rights to be e-mailed from the mail server with the same source as the picture/article.

I'll be resending (forwarding) the e-mail to your address provided as soon as that takes place! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reynaldopichardo (talkcontribs) 17:23, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

The LGBT studies WikiProject Newsletter!
Issue XVIII: June 24, 2009

Yo, happy Pride y'all - are you ready for your close-up?

Stonewall riots
How do you change the world? You can start by writing an incredible article for the world's encyclopedia. Moni3 kicks it old school again with Stonewall riots - a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations against a police raid that took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969 at the Stonewall Inn. hey have become the defining event that marked the start of the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world. It's a featured article hitting the mainpage this Sunday to mark the 40th anniversary of the events. So first off, wow! Clever and cool. Moni3 has been recently named hottest delegate to Obama's bookclub but that may not be official yet. (Shhh!)

Otto4711 mentioned that gee we really should swamp the DYK section with LGBT-related articles for use on the 28th as well. We have eight or so in the holding area and if you push yourself to get an article together you might be able to get in on the fun. Do this now!

The official rules for DYKs can be found here. Once you have expanded an article 5-fold or created an article with at least 1,500 characters of prose, place your DYK thread here. Use this handy tool to count your 1,500 characters. As a suggestion, when you add your potential hook, include the character count and a link to the source(s) that confirm the hook. These will be confirmed anyway but may help.

Obama proclamation

On June 1, President Barack Obama declared June 2009 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, citing the riots as a reason to "commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans". Excerpts at the bottom.

F*ck me I'm famous

I was interviewed by Misplaced Pages Signpost, the weekly in-house newsletter, for the WikiProject report. The Signpost has nearly 1,000 Wikipedian subscribers and arguably many of those folks actually read it. It came about rather quickly and my worst fears - that it was an elaborate hoax by a troll - were apparently unfounded. I hope y'all feel I did fine by the project, I did my best to avoid the phrase "man-humping, cock-sucking, doggy-style loving queer" but otherwise did ok.

Free image appeal

A friendly reminder to consider taking photos while you're out and about at various Dyke marches and Pride parades. Consider donating them to the world at Wikicommons. I'm sooo totally over having to deal with lovely images being deleted and argued about. If they are just free they are then also freely usable worldwide. And no, they don't need photos of your cha-cha or hoo-hoo-dilly.

Chaz Bono

Sonny and Cher's daughter was a famous lesbian and now he's a famous transman, possibly the most famous in the world. This also serves as a friendly reminder that we recently updated Misplaced Pages:WikiProject LGBT studies/Guidelines - it's not perfect but should help inform on those gnip-gnop battles that do seem to drag on, and not in the good way.

R U Popular?

Misplaced Pages:WikiProject LGBT studies/Popular pages is a new handy place to see which LGBT-tagged pages are the most popular in any given month.

Article alerts

As part of the redecorating at our talkpage, the article alerts and keyword search alerts are handily located at the top of the page. Always fascinating to see what's up. All help appreciated on those.

Glambert

Adam Lambert is soooo gay - surprised? Neither is anyone else. Nuff said. David Ogden Stiers was outed but apparently he wasn't terribly in either.

Our own little IRC home

The LGBT studies project does have its own free Internet Relay Chat channel, #wikipedia-en-lgbt , for coordination, collaboration and socializing. This channel is hosted on Freenode and can be accessed in one of two ways: If you already have an IRC client, click the link to the left. If you do not have an IRC client, you'll need to get one installed on your computer first. Once you've done this, then click on the link to the left.

For more general information on IRC and a listing of other useful Misplaced Pages-related channels, see Misplaced Pages:IRC channels.

The project had at one point another channel at #LGBTproject but as the original people associated with the setting up and administration of that channel have seemed to have disappeared, this new channel has been set up. Plus the new channel is inline with required naming conventions for Misplaced Pages related IRC channels. So, feel free to use this channel. Such a channel gives opportunity to discuss the latest happening on articles, the LGBT project itself, latest happening in your life with "wiki-friends" here, etc.. You can say things on there you normally wouldn't here on Misplaced Pages (keeping it civil of course) like talk about the latest hot guy/girl or tell a joke.. you get the point. Anyway, see you there - eventually!

There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. n both the White House and the Federal agencies -- openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.
LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.
At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security.
As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Questions about BLP noticeboard

Kukini, could you clarify how this works? I placed a complaint against a user for a disruptive edit (which violated WP:BLP, no revert without consensus). All I got for that was two personal attacks posted there in response; as far as I can tell, no action was taken on the original complaint. Am I expecting too much? What exactly should I expect after making a complaint on the BLP (or other) noticeboard regarding a disruptive editor? I was considering making a complaint about the NPA violations, but will that work any better than the BLP notice?

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Deleted "Khinalyg (book)"

Hi! Unfortunately, I noticed today that article "Khinalyg (book)" was deleted. I am sorry if it contained something that might have violated the guidelines, and I would like to improve the article to make it compliant with Misplaced Pages. Could you userfy/restore the page, so I can improve it? Thanks in advance! Science.nauka (talk) 23:10, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProjeck Arizona

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Arizona, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 13:32, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Talk:Accounting system

A tag has been placed on Talk:Accounting system, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done for the following reason:

"Accounting software" should be separated from the article for "Accounting systems." The two are entirely different subjects. If there is no separate entry for "Accounting systems", there should be, but, in any case, the entry for "Accounting systems" should not be a REDIRECT to "Accounting software"! The REDIRECT is a disincentive to creating an "Accounts systems" entry. The software is a means of keeping accounting records; it has nothing to do with the various accounting systems and the int'l accounting standards.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Misplaced Pages criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. The Gnome (talk) 10:11, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Notice of change

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Missing Wikipedians

Stumbled across your page, and after a curiosity check, found you haven't been around in awhile and just sort of stopped all of a sudden. I hope you don't mind, but I added you to the page above. Feel free to remove yourself as long as you make it clear you do not wish to be readded (I would suggest using an edit summary for that; that way it'll always be in your edit history so anyone who goes looking will see it). God bless, LazyBastardGuy 06:26, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2014

Hi Kukini. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Misplaced Pages, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Misplaced Pages and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:04, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Personal infoboxes in relation to patriotism and nationalism

Hi Kukini,

I saw your name on the Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Discrimination#Participants listing.

There is a discussion at Template talk:Infobox person#Citizenship suggesting a change of emphasis to a Citizenship entry from the Nationality entry.

The idea is to give more facilitation to Patriotism instead of Nationalism and also to allow more freedom of expression in regards to terminologies used.

Contributions are welcomed.

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I don't want to edit a page that is about me, but it's frustrating to see the same error for years. The inline citations were removed by someone, I have no idea who or why. https://en.wikipedia.org/Vicky_Brago-Mitchell

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Speedy deletion nomination of Counselors for Social Justice

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Counselors for Social Justice requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. SITH (talk) 16:53, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

get your facts right.

213.202.151.220 (talk) 19:43, 11 May 2020 (UTC) I got an unsolicited notice from a user Kukini on a public wikipedia page that I accessed. This user said that I vandalised a Fifa 09 video game page back in September 2008. Was that you? If so, I'd suggest you get your facts right as I never edited a page about this subject. First off, I don't have a wikipedia account. Second, I have a dynamic ip address. If it wasn't you, my apologies for disturbing you.
