The Muslim Action Committe is a umbrella organisation specifically set up in February 2006 to respond the offensive Danish cartoons. The Muslim Action Committee is unique in that it's supporters include over 400 Sunni Muslim religious scholars as well as a large number of Islamic organisations representing all schools of thought in the Muslim Community of Britain.

The Muslim Action Committee spokesman Shaykh Faiz Siddiqi has asked for a tightening of the Press Complaints Code as well as a change in the Race Relations Law.

A Campaign for Global Civility is due to be launched on Friday 17th February 2006 with a Proclamation of Global Civility to be unveiled.
A mass demonstration expected to number 50,000 is planned for Saturday 18th February 2006.
