It isn't archived in itself. Contextual clues support the conclusion that we had the content first. For instance, I looked for the phrase "Steely Dan" and found it introduced , when much of the content of that section was already there. We find a different IP adding in another phrase that is also used in that external site. The , another IP added information on Nick Hornby. , a registered user adds info on ''Dirty Dancing''. It's quite unlikely that multiple users over an extended span of time copied content from that page bit by bit, so I think that in the absence of other evidence we can safely assume that at some point after June 2008, they copied it from us. --] <sup>]</sup> 13:27, 20 August 2011 (UTC)}}

Does that sound like encyclopedic style? Shouldn't this read something like "He is widely considered one of the greatest singers in the history etc etc", with sources? It doesn't even have any citations. Otis Redding deserves better :/

== Loretta Williams ==
Here you can read the B criteria:

You need to contact Loretta Williams. She's alive & well in Mobile, Alabama. She's the Pastor at 2nd Chance Church in Chickasaw,Alabama. It's a lot of things she can add to this story. ] (]) 14:56, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
# The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary. It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. The use of either tags or citation templates such as {{tl|cite web}} is not required.{{done|met}}
# The article reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies. It contains a large proportion of the material necessary for an A-Class article, although some sections may need expansion, and some less important topics may be missing.{{done|met}}
# The article has a defined structure. Content should be organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind.{{done|met}}
# The article is reasonably well-written. The prose contains no major grammatical errors and flows sensibly, but it certainly need not be "brilliant". The Manual of Style need not be followed rigorously.{{done|met}}
# The article contains supporting materials where appropriate. Illustrations are encouraged, though not required. Diagrams and an infobox etc. should be included where they are relevant and useful to the content.{{done|met}}
# The article presents its content in an appropriately understandable way. It is written with as broad an audience in mind as possible. Although Misplaced Pages is more than just a general encyclopedia, the article should not assume unnecessary technical background and technical terms should be explained or avoided where possible.{{done|met}}

Thanks for pointing that out. This one will be easy for you to fix. The cited source says, "He returned to Memphis and, with Steve Cropper, finished writing the acoustic ballad that would become his signature hit." So what's going on here is that someone summarized the source incorrectly. Binksternet (talk) 04:45, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
