The first attack occurred when a bomb exploded on the car of the wife of Israeli defense attache to India. She was on her way to pick up her children from school. In the second attack in Tblisi, an Israeli embassy driver (a local Georgian national) heard something while he was driving. He pulled over to side of the road and discovered a bomb underneath his car. Israeli Prime Minister ] blamed ] for the attacks, stating, "Iran, which is behind these attacks, is the greatest exporter of terrorism in the world. The Israeli government and its security forces will continue to work together with local security services against these terrorist actions."<ref name="jpost1"/> Iran rejected the allegation and denied responsibility for the attack.
