Creating another account for '''useful''' purposes, as encouraged is not really regarded as sockpuppetry. In my opinion it's not encouraging anybody to create another vandal account to evade the block, seeing as it states clearly '''useful contributions'''. — FireFox (]|]) 10:45, 23 April 2006
:In most cases, probably yes. But you're forgetting, these users are indefinitely blocked, meaning that they are 99.99% likely never to be unblocked. So if they wish to make useful contributions, creating another account is the only option, and we encourage that. — FireFox (]|]) 10:49, 23 April 2006
== Pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity ==
::That's not what I'm trying to say. Yes, anyone who wishes to be unblocked can put the unblock template on their page, but indefinitely blocked users are blocked for a reason and aren't very likely to be unblocked. Users aren't blocked indefinitely always from a community decision. The decision could be made by the ArbCom, or an individual administrator. We are not encouraging vandals to create a new account and continue vandalising, we're encouraging them to create a new account if they wish to make useful contributions. Anyway, there is a 10 user throttle on the number of accounts that can be created from one location. — FireFox (]|]) 11:01, 23 April 2006

What is the current guidance on Youtube links as the talk about it is now 15 years old? It is rather confusing which guidance was accepted and what was rejected by committee
Specifically, | |||
1. If the link to an audio file has been distributed to Youtube by a record company, can it be OK to link to?
2. If the creator of the content posted it to Youtube, can it be OK to link to it?
3. If Youtube has a contract with the record company & publishing company of an audio file, with the specific notes in the Details about Use of the recording & composition, is that OK to link to?
It would seem all of the above have specific copyright OK's to Youtube.

Pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have not made any edits or logged actions in the preceding twelve months. Because you have been inactive, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month.
Inactive administrators are encouraged to rejoin the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to rejoin the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.
Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:10, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
