== Reliable sources ==

Regarding your work on ]: it's important to understand that not all references are necessarily reliable. Specifically, we have guidelines that disallow the use of user-generated content, see ] of the ]. Misplaced Pages itself is, by virtue of this policy, not considered a reliable source. Similarly IMCDB's data is user-created content, and without knowing the identity, expertise or motivation of its contributors, we cannot make use of it as a source.

To give an example, suppose I go to the IMCDB, register an account, and then add an entry indicating that the Seville will appear in an upcoming role in the new Bond film, '']''. I made this fact up, out of thin air: I have no idea whether it's true or not. Does my writing it on IMCDB somehow make it a fact? I think not, and if it appeared on Misplaced Pages some right-thinking editor would no doubt check it against other, reliably published sources and correct the error. That's why we can't use such content as a source - it simply isn't a reliable source of factual information, by virtue of its content creation model.
