I check pages listed in ] to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for ] in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of ]'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for ''this'' article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

== Dott got a 40-break in his first ever snooker game at 8 years old ==
According to the commentator (]?) in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPjBKiRHrD8 at time 6:23, the first time Dott ever played a game at age 8, he made a 40-break. The information itself is encyclopedic, and the commentator is almost certainly a subject matter expert, once we verify who it is. However, I'm not sure if this meets Misplaced Pages's standards of reliability:
*the video itself likely violates copyright
*the story relies on the biased testimony of either Dott, his father, or his grandfather
I'm leaving it here for someone else to make a decision about it.

Prize Money
Is wrong. The reference is from the start of the season, and someone has added his World title money to it. But it doesn't take into account the rest of his money for the year. Damiancorrigan 00:12, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is *still* wrong. Anyone fancy putting something else here? Damiancorrigan 22:50, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Rangers citation
I heard this too - it was mentioned in the commentary. How do we cite this? Damiancorrigan 10:34, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
It is cited in both the external links given. Strange that the TheMadTim only takes exception to this one statement. KarateKid7 11:59, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
KarateKid7
You stated on 11:26, "2 May 2006 KarateKid7 (citation is given)" as a reason to revert this version : . The statement in question was "He supports Rangers F.C..". Please show where it was cited on that version.
Additionally, when I further removed this uncited statement at 11:36, 2 May 2006, you then replaced it at 11:42, 2 May 2006, stating that you were reverting vandalism. Please quote from WP:VAND to support your claims.
I have now removed the uncited statement. If you wish to replace it, please do so, citing reputable sources.
Alternatively, you might try WP:DBAD--TheMadTim 11:55, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
LOL WP:DBAD, TheMadTim removes mention that he supports Rangers on the grounds of there being no sources when 2 are clearly given as external links. Hardly the type of information that would be immediately need a source. when someone starts quoting WP:DBAD they need to check their own behaviour. KarateKid7 12:02, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Also, MadTim, can you answer my question above? How do you cite what has been heard in the commentary? It seems you are removing things for the sake of it - it is clearly a well-documented fact that he supports Rangers, heard by hundreds of thousands in the commentary, so why remove it? If something is common knowledge, do we need to cite everything? "Graeme Dott is a man(citation needed). He was born in Scotland(citation needed) in 1977(citation needed) and plays snooker(citation needed)". Purlease. Damiancorrigan 12:29, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- If the Rangers thing is verifiable and has sources, then I don't see the problem. I know that he does support Rangers, as I am a bit of a snooker aficionado and have heard him mention it in interviews, but that of course might not be sufficient enough. --Knucmo2 13:23, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- It says he supports Rangers in that Guardian interview. I added that source. Skinnyweed 14:38, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- It is mentioned in both external links. The user TheMadTim, has an agenda against Rangers. To claim that a source is needed for this but not other pieces of information in the article clearly demonstrates this. He cites WP:DBAD, whilst demanding that sources for this is given even when they are and then refers me for breaking WP:3RR . --KarateKid7 14:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- The twat removed it. I've put it back. This guy needs to be banned. Damiancorrigan 17:19, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, but be civil about this and don't name call as this will only help the editor with an alleged grievance even more. --Knucmo2 18:57, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

- The twat removed it. I've put it back. This guy needs to be banned. Damiancorrigan 17:19, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Damiancorrigan, if you would please check the user page of user:TheMADTim, you will see that they are indeed a sock puppet of user:KarateKid7. Please check your facts first before labelling people as twats. --TheMadTim 16:38, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- I don't have the time nor the inclination to check if it is MADTim or MadTim who is changing things. Mr Lowercase certainly has a habit of removing things unecessarily, and it appears that Mr Uppercase did too. Its pathetic and pointless, and you should should both be banned.
- You should look at WP:AGF, WP:CIV and most importantly of all WP:NPA. If you think that it is acceptable to call users 'twat's based upon the action of completely different users, then that is your business. The vast, overwhelming majority of Misplaced Pages users think differently.--TheMadTim 21:23, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Graeme Dott
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Graeme Dott's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 23:48, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Dott got a 40-break in his first ever snooker game at 8 years old
According to the commentator (Steve Davis?) in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPjBKiRHrD8 at time 6:23, the first time Dott ever played a game at age 8, he made a 40-break. The information itself is encyclopedic, and the commentator is almost certainly a subject matter expert, once we verify who it is. However, I'm not sure if this meets Misplaced Pages's standards of reliability:
- the video itself likely violates copyright
- the story relies on the biased testimony of either Dott, his father, or his grandfather
I'm leaving it here for someone else to make a decision about it. --Atkinson (talk) 01:40, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
