] For the ] ] is launching an '''Improvement Drive''' for national rugby union teams; specifically those participating in the Rugby World Cup.
We need your help! Here is what you can do:
* Adopt a national rugby union team article and collaborate with other members to improve it.
* Find, create and upload free images that will help improve these articles.
* Copy-edit, reference, and expand articles when and where you can.
* Promote the project and encourage others to join.
The World Cup is fast approaching and these articles are going to get a lot more hits during the tournament. It would be great if we could have them at a high standard!

== Coriolis effect (2) ==
</div> ] ] 05:20, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

==Babe Zaharias==
I noticed you added a request for cleanup to the coriolis effect article. I think just about all of the crititism on the Coriolis Talk page is written by me. My intention is to address the issues surrounding the coriolis effect, but to do that I need to complete some more diagrams and animations.
Hey, thank you for the kind words and encouragement! I like your photos, too, but you might want to check the link from your userpage. Looks like a bot gotcha (by accident). Speaking of photos, I'm still trying to get a good public domain pic of her for the piece. -- ] ]/] 00:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

==England national rugby union team FAC==
My approach is to use analogies between rotating disks and the rotating Earth. --] | ] 16:19, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
I was wondering if you could comment at the England national rugby union team's FAC ]. Thanks. - ] ] 09:08, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
: ''Please don't. The Coriolis effect is not limited to the Earth, and the sphericity of the earth just confuses matters. When explaining Coriolis, limit discussion to rotating discs and everything will be much, much clearer. After that, discuss what this means on the Earth. And remember, if it make any difference whether motions are North/South or East/West your example is *not* demonstrating the Coriolis effect.'' -- ]

== Hi Gareth ==
]
]

Some Zionist thug is deleting my improvements to the Menachem Begin page. I detailed Begin's involvement in the Deir Yassin Massacre and the shock it elicited from many Jewish thinkers and leaders including Albert Einstein, Hannah Arendt and others, which is evidenced by a letter they published to the New York Times in December 1948 calling Begin's party a fascist party, accusing Begin of terrorism, and warning the public not to allow Begin to visit the US and not to give money to his party.
What you describe is what I have in mind: first discussion of purely 2-dimensional cases, and only then move on to showing how those insights can be applied to wind patterns and ocean currents.
But the Zionist hooligans on Misplaced Pages, true to Zionistic smear and intimidation tactics, want to hide the truth. Since I'm new, I need some help: How can I undo their deletions? How can I complain?
Thanks,
] 14:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

==Retrospective award==
In (the thumbnails of) the diagrams on the right a rotating disk is represented, with on it a box. The box is co-rotating with the disk. The box represents an accelerometer; when the box is accelerating then the weight suspended on springs inside moves to one side of the box.
], hereby award Rlevse the ] for raising our collective consciousness for work on a ] highlighted by the Übermuse ] in his great song ]...cheers, ]&nbsp;(]&nbsp;'''·''' ]) 00:54, 9 January 2008 (UTC)]]

== Image:Ethan_Daniel_Davidson.jpg listed for deletion ==
: Well, that looks like a great explanation of centripetal force, but centripetal force is not Coriolis. Fixing the box to the disc is flat out wrong: Unless the box is moving relative to the disc, there's no Coriolis.
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, ], has been listed at ]. Please see the ] to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. {{#if:|{{{2}}}|Thank you.}} ] ] 02:34, 16 March 2008 (UTC) <!-- Template:Idw -->

==Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gram parsons.jpg==
::That illustrates the usefullness of animations. The arrows in the diagram represent motion with respect to the disk, but making an animation is clearer. In this example, the box has all the time the same angular velocity as the disk, but when it moves closer to the center of rotation then the accelererometer registeres an acceleration '''perpendicular''' to the motion towards the center of rotation. You have shown to me it is worthwile to make that animation. --] | ] 11:53, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading ''']'''. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by ]. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from ] is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an ]; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
::: You have confused me again, or you have confused Coriolis and Centrifugal... The Coriolis force doesn't care whether you move closer to the center of rotation. The location of center of rotation does not appear in the Coriolis terms. If you have to make reference to the location of the center, as opposed to the direction of the rotation, you are not dealing with Coriolis but centripetal force.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our ]. If you have any questions, please ask them at the ]. Thank you.<!-- Template:No fair --> —]] ] 22:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
::: Incidentally, on the subject of relative motion, I'm confused by the discussion of the parabolic surface on the rotating table. Surely, after spin-up, the fluid is in solid-body rotation (i.e. stationary relative to the dish). Is this right?

link to the coriolis effect article, and I estimate that half of those deal with meteorological phenomena and oceanographic phenomena. Many textbooks state that 'the coriolis effect' is in fact involved in wind patterns and ocean current patterns, so the coriolis effect article must deal with that issue. --] | ] 19:14, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you added the drug allegations to Maurice Greene. I added details of a letter from ] concerning Greene to Boldens page , and wondered if you had heard of it? ] (]) 23:59, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
: That's why I said ''After that, discuss what this means on the Earth''. But if you set your initial examples, on the earth, other effects mask what is really Coriolis.

WikiProject Rugby union national team Improvement Drive

For the 2007 Rugby World Cup WikiProject Rugby union is launching an Improvement Drive for national rugby union teams; specifically those participating in the Rugby World Cup.

We need your help! Here is what you can do:

  • Adopt a national rugby union team article and collaborate with other members to improve it.
  • Find, create and upload free images that will help improve these articles.
  • Copy-edit, reference, and expand articles when and where you can.
  • Promote the project and encourage others to join.

The World Cup is fast approaching and these articles are going to get a lot more hits during the tournament. It would be great if we could have them at a high standard!

For more information see the discussion on the WikiProject Rugby union talk page here.

Hi Gareth

Some Zionist thug is deleting my improvements to the Menachem Begin page. I detailed Begin's involvement in the Deir Yassin Massacre and the shock it elicited from many Jewish thinkers and leaders including Albert Einstein, Hannah Arendt and others, which is evidenced by a letter they published to the New York Times in December 1948 calling Begin's party a fascist party, accusing Begin of terrorism, and warning the public not to allow Begin to visit the US and not to give money to his party. But the Zionist hooligans on Misplaced Pages, true to Zionistic smear and intimidation tactics, want to hide the truth. Since I'm new, I need some help: How can I undo their deletions? How can I complain? Thanks, Firstamend 14:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gram parsons.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Gram parsons.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 22:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Rock and roll.

The article Rock and roll. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pointless typo. No reason for period. No articles linked here. No one would add a period in search.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hello Gareth Owen! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. File:Roger bresnahan.jpg needs authorship information

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Roger bresnahan.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|Gareth Owen}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:45, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Misplaced Pages is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm, that it was your own work, by marking it as {{own}}, amending the {{information}} added by a third party, and by changing the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes to the {{Media by uploader}} or {{Presumed self}} tag(s) if present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).

IF you have other uploads, please consider "claiming" them in a similar manner, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transferred to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:08, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Earned run

The article Earned run has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your user talk page

Hi Gareth, I found your user talk page while doing some wikiarchaeology. . I have restored all of its earliest surviving revisions from old copies of the Misplaced Pages database, so they are available to everyone now. Hope you don't mind. Nice Wikimedia Blog profile, by the way! Graham87 10:47, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
