Sorry for the undescriptive subject. :) As said above, the Arbitration case against Leyasu has already started. I was wondering, how did you and ] determine that Leyasu was using sock puppets back in November? As it seems you weren't an admin at the time, and WP:RFCU didn't exist (I'm not sure though, so feel free to correct me on that), and I couldn't find any relevant edits on your side asking for a check (yet to go through Danteferno's), so could you provide any links that prove it? : I actually came here to thank you for your comment there, and to clarify some misunderstandings. Since the RfA page is not a discussion page I'm writing this here; please feel free to move this to a more appropriate place if you're aware of one.
:* There is no "dispute between Deltabeignet and SebastianHelm". Deltabeignet admitted to having disrupted Misplaced Pages for three months, and all I did was to bring it to the attention of the authorities. Please apply ] and don't put me in a pigeon hole. That said, I realize that I probably have been more emotional than what would have been wise when I brought up the case; please understand that I am ''really'' frustrated to be reporting what I consider a crime and ''nobody'' has acted on it for two days so far.
:* Leyasu has not been involved in any revert war with me. As to the revertions you cite, these were clearly well intended revertions of perceived vandalism. (It is unfortunately that Leyasu uses adolescent emotional macho language, but I don't see that in itself as a reason for banning him. I took the time to check every IP that edited the gothic metal talk page at the time (if that's the page you're referring to); comments signed with "Porkchop" and later "Metal Mayhem Rulz" were all made from ], none of them were, however, signed with "Leyasu". There was an ambiguous (see the edit summary and the previous edit), that could have led to believe there was sock puppetry involved.

I've reached some compromises with Lucpol about the positions of the words "nu metal" and "rapcore", and some admins have helped us to correct that articles in order to eschew edit wars. : To be honest, I'm not sure why am I part of this case, as it is now renamed to "Leyasu", and I have had no conflicts with the user in question. Other than providing evidence against the evidence of other people, there is nothing I could add to it. And this lack of dislike for Leyasu also seems to be the reason for some of the disagreements between Danteferno and myself, unfortunately.

Hi. I'd like to inform you that the above user has once again violated the Three-revert rule. Also, I should mention that this user is openly defying the policy of Misplaced Pages in continually reverting to a version which is weeks old and contains inaccuracies and spelling and grammar mistakes. The cited reasons for these reverts are "POV" or "vandalism", when, most of the time, the newer edits are genuine, good-faith attempts to contribute by a number of users. Any help you can provide regarding this matter will be appreciated.

I read your ArbCom response to the sockpuppet evidence - true, they do have different writing styles, but one could easily alter one to distinguish it from the other - itz as simple as dIs. There's also been times when ]'s writing has been much better in terms of spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc.

Had ] been less one-sided on ], ArbCom Report and evidence page, there would be less suspicion, but all he's been doing is talking down ]'s refusal to provide sources, apologizing for ]'s use of personal attacks, and pointing fingers (or flinging dirt) at others whenever ]'s other actions are put into light. In addition, the name was just registered in December 2005. This has a very strong feeling of a sockpuppet impostor.

:Biasness has nothing to do with it. One editor has information that can be backed up with sources, the other will not provide such. The editor sans sources criticizes the editor with sources and says any reliablity of their sources is just their "point of view". So both editors are "point of view" and biased. Does that make sense? No, certainly not.

:Disdain (if really the case) also has nothing to do with anything.If ] came back the next day and provided sources that backed up every article in which he was involved in a dispute, fine, done, excellent, end of case. :In conclusion: If I was accused or suspected of sockpuppetry, and I knew I was in the clear, I would simply say so, encourage that my IP be compared with the other account, and that's that, done. I have no idea how you have so much information on the Deadlines. Sorry, i should have introduced myself first. Hi, this is Shaun (formerly of the Deadlines) and I think you may know more about the band than I do (or that I remember.) I happened upon this wikipedia post after Googling my last name for some family history stuff, by the way the internet is officially completely ridiculous, and was amazed by what you had posted. It was pretty much right on, I changed one thing and think there are a few more minor vagaries that I might go clear up, but, damn I have no idea how you found all of that. I was positive it was either a member of the band or someone from tooth & nail that did this, although now that I think about it I guess it could be. So now I'm wondering, are you from Portland? Do I know you? Anyway, good work, I'm going to go edit it a little for accuracy and favorable spin (kidding.)


(FYI, when agreeing with another person's proposal, I think the usual procedure is to put "Endorse" (or, contrarily, "Oppose") before signing. Not that it's worth going back and changing in this case, which looks like it's maybe about to wrap up.)

==Is This Vandalism?==

One of the users believed to be part of the sock farm of IP'S on the CoB article has consistantly blanked sections of the article they 'dislike'. Originally some admins thought this was a content dispute, but seemed to of misjudged the reasoning behind the edits.

Recently i messaged the user with a warning , explaining they were violating policy. I then returned to yourself to ask about the rules for this . Afeter your reply i went back and reverted the users talk page on the basis of what you said . They recverted again, , And again .

During this time i also spoke to ] from ], and we discerned that diffs for the ] article would be good. So i provided them , quickly editing the infobox after (I bodged the formatting). Ironically, another similar IP with only one edit to those found in the sock farm before arrived, to delete the cited information , which i then warned them for and reverted .

As such i want to know where things stand when a user found to be member of a sock farm is blanking their talk page of reverts? And what happens when IPS similar to those found in a sock farm emerge to vandalise the same article as the sock farm was used to war on? ] 15:06, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

I actually came here to thank you for your comment there, and to clarify some misunderstandings. Since the RfA page is not a discussion page I'm writing this here; please feel free to move this to a more appropriate place if you're aware of one.
  • There is no "dispute between Deltabeignet and SebastianHelm". Deltabeignet admitted to having disrupted Misplaced Pages for three months, and all I did was to bring it to the attention of the authorities. Please apply WP:FAITH and don't put me in a pigeon hole. That said, I realize that I probably have been more emotional than what would have been wise when I brought up the case; please understand that I am really frustrated to be reporting what I consider a crime and nobody has acted on it for two days so far.
  • Leyasu has not been involved in any revert war with me. As to the revertions you cite, these were clearly well intended revertions of perceived vandalism. (It is unfortunately that Leyasu uses adolescent emotional macho language, but I don't see that in itself as a reason for banning him. In the contrary, if you compare with its reversion , it is Deltabeignet who wrote the more inappropriate and misleading edit summary.) — Sebastian 18:54, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
On the articles about rapcore, Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst, a certain LUCPOL was much more lucky. Moreover, if Leyasu used "adm language", Lucpol's problem was his broken English (but I finally agreed with him). --Baxtaba 21:22, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Now those questions are over. I've reached some compromises with Lucpol about the positions of the words "nu metal" and "rapcore", and some admins have helped us to correct that articles in order to eschew edit wars. Deltabeignet arbitration

Thanks for commenting on some of my Workshop proposals in the case involving Deltabeignet. I appreciated your additions as well.

(FYI, when agreeing with another person's proposal, I think the usual procedure is to put "Endorse" (or, contrarily, "Oppose") before signing. Not that it's worth going back and changing in this case, which looks like it's maybe about to wrap up.)

Lists should be categories

Since you are an administrator, I thought I would ask you if there is a policy or guideline that states lists should be deleted in favor of categorizing their contents? Misplaced Pages:Categories, lists, and series boxes, a guideline, seems to state that lists, categories and series boxes are to be used in synergy with eachother. It says nothing about deleting one in favor of the other. Since you advanced this argument at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of rhythm guitarists, and since policy at WP:Deletion#Deletion_discussion states "These processes are not decided through a head count, so participants should explain their opinion and refer to policy", I'm requesting information about the policy or guideline you derived this understanding from. Welcome to the new WikiProject Roller Coasters Newsletter! Until now, in spite of a decent number of members signed up to the WikiProject, we have had no regular progress updates or information as to how much of a difference our contributions are making. This monthly newsletter aims to provide an overview of all the work that is being done behind the scenes and to celebrate the successes that would otherwise pass by unseen. Any suggestions for future additions and general help with the newsletter will be greatly appreciated.

Articles and Assessment

As can be seen on the assessment page, we are so close to finishing off assessment. If all current members of the WikiProject assessed just 2 articles, the backlog of unassessed-quality articles would be eliminated.

The vast majority of articles are currently assessed as stubs, which is probably to be expected as many contain an infobox and nothing else. Getting these up to start-class is incredibly easy, many simply need references and tidying up. Even if you have very little knowledge on the article subject, this task should be fairly straightforward and is the first step in raising overall article quality.

The following articles reached B-class quality during November:

Amusement Park Portal

The Amusement Park Portal is now automatically linked to from the roller coaster infoboxes. It's important to remember that we need to integrate our articles with those covered by the Amusement Park WikiProject. When working on a roller coaster article, it's always a good idea to ensure that there is a wikilink from the relevant amusement park article, otherwise no-one will even know the article exists!

Membership News

During November the WikiProject was joined by 3 new members, bringing the total number up to 49. The to do list continues to serve as a place for flagging up articles in need of attention, review or comments.

B-class Drive

Just to get the idea out there, I'd like to propose a monthly article drive. With the poor state of most of the articles, it's unreasonable to suggest even a GA-drive, so a B-class drive would be more realistic. Any suggestions for January's article can be brought up on the WikiProject Talk Page. Suggested articles should be presently at start or stub class and have sufficient reliable sources available to work from.

Welcome to the second WikiProject Roller Coasters Newsletter! December has seen some real progress in terms of bringing up the quality of roller coaster related articles on Misplaced Pages. Assessment and tagging of articles is almost completely done and efforts are now being focussed on quality and improving articles. This month also sees the start of the new B-class drive, a brilliant way to get involved with the WikiProject and achieve something together.

Articles and Assessment As far as assessment goes, the backlog from last month was cleared almost immediately after the last newsletter went out, almost single-handedly by Alton! A progress chart can be seen on the assessment page that shows we are slowly dragging up the quality of the articles covered by the WikiProject.

B-class Drive This month's B-class Drive: Arrow Dynamics

So here is the first article improvement drive for the WikiProject, Arrow Dynamics. There isn't a huge amount that needs doing apart from the addition of references, formatting and a copyedit. For any outstanding contributions there are barnstars available which can be given to and by anyone!

Any suggestions for February's B-class Drive can be brought up on the talk page, so if there's a particular article you feel could benefit from more input then feel free to suggest it.

Welcome!

Welcome to the WikiProject Roller Coasters Newsletter! January has seen a number of milestones being passed in the WikiProject. We've achieved our first good article, brought a portal up to featured portal status and successfully collaborated together on the first Article Improvement Drive, amongst other achievements. Let's carry on with the good work and continue bringing up the standard of all articles covered by the WikiProject!

Articles and Assessment

We hit a milestone in January with our first GA-class article, Speed Monster! This shows just how easy it is improve articles by including references and increasing readability. Collaboration has got off to a good start, with the first chosen article, Arrow Dynamics, improving enough to reach B-class.

Amusement Parks Portal

The Amusement Parks Portal reached featured portal status during January! You can still nominate articles for the selected content sections on the portal.

Membership News During January the WikiProject was joined by 6 new members, bringing the total number up to 55. A very warm welcome to Etf, CPGACoast, RickMarkestein, Emackert, Onewayroad2home and Suttna08. The to do list continues to serve as a place for flagging up articles in need of attention, review or comments. A discussion is taking place regarding the best way to organise information about roller coaster records and the history of roller coasters. All members' opinions are welcomed; the discussion can be found here.
Article Improvement Drive This month's Article Improvement Drive: Roller coaster

Why not start at the top?! The main article is already at B class and, with a little help, isn't too far away from GA class. Please see the collaboration page for further information.

Any suggestions for March's Article Improvement Drive can be brought up on the talk page, so if there's a particular article you feel could benefit from more input then feel free to suggest it.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
