Promotional and soapbox material on your userpage

Please do not add promotional material to Misplaced Pages, as you did to User:The_Iconoclast. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Misplaced Pages is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. On that note, what does anything remaining on the userpage have to do with editing an encyclopedia? (WP:User pages says there should be some connection.)
