The Female Sex Ratio is of 921 against a state average of 912. Moreover, the Child Sex Ratio in Sahatwar is around 970 compared to Uttar Pradesh's state average of 902. The literacy rate of Sahatwar is 67.30%, lower than the state average of 67.68%. The Mahatpaleswar Nath temple (Old Shiva temple) is in the heart of the city. This city is also surrounded by a number of other temples, including Palat Baba to the east, Thakur Ji (Baulli) to the west, Sri Chainram Baba to the north, and Shri Ishwari Bhram Baba temple to the south. Apart from these some other old temples are there in Sahatwar as old Shankar Bhagwan Temple, Old Ram Janki Temple, Shajha Nand Braham Baba.


There are two mosques in the Sahatwar (Badi Masjid Near Police Chauki and Chhoti Masjid Near Purani Bazaar).

Sahatwar, or Mahatpal before being renamed, boasts a multitude landmarks and cultural icons. Sahatwar is the home of numerous temples—the most well known being Chain Ram Baba, a temple that once housed Hari Ram—a local martyr and freedom fighter whose residential house was once used as a police station during the 1942 movement. Just outside Sahatwar's confines is Surahia Village, which is known for its various contributions to Indian independence. Maximum population in sahatwar is of kinwar rajputs. Sahatwar is very popular town in Ballia District. Here famous sweets is Gajar ka haluwa. Sahatwar is also known as the nagar panchayat of temples.Without mentioning CHAIN RAM BABA samadhi sthal,Sahatwar is incomplete. This is a gazetted tourist place in BALLIA. Sahatwar is also a trade centre for about 100 of small villages such as Dumariya, Khanpur, Haldi, Parsha, Harpur. Mahatpaleswar temple is situated in the heart of the city. Sahatwar is surrounded by temples.
