**Total misrepresntation. The 3RR was removed (and the 3RR is to be reported for an admin misusing their position). I was not responsible for the mess at the AfD - and I was invited to go along to the Wikiproject to find out more - this I have done to be met with abuse and personal attacks from the likes of ] and ]. They want to use the project page as a chat room and want to fill WP with articles which come nowhere near to notability criteria - junior B ice hockey teams. This is a nonsense and their behaviour needs to be looked into - they are protecting pages for the sake of it, not entering into reasonable debate and not allowing newcomers to contribute. ] 15:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
::*This guy is obsessive and vendictive. He has been following every major member of the WikiProject around for the last day, commenting on everything we say -- even if it has nothing to do with him or his AfD (seemingly lurking in our contribs lists). He has shown malicious intent, he given a lion's share of harrassment, forced most of us to loose the nessecary "Assumption of Good Faith", and just won't leave any of us alone. Heck, he's even declared war on all articles pertaining to sports and claims that he'll come after us first, citing the notablity essay as bible. Also, despite the 3RR issue being dropped, I personally approach the admin in question and was told me that I should be talking to the administration board about this user actions -- that this is not an isolated incident. ] 20:09, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
::: The editor has actually been editing since July 2005 (under various names). He is supposed to be under mentorship after being allowed back into the Wikiproject - in April he was blocked indefiniterly for using sockpuppets and making threats. Perhaps it might be best to contact his mentor regarding his failure to keep promises about behaving appropriately?

::::*Evidentally it did not work. Although, I do not think even the best mentor would curb this guy's behaviour. Especially with his specific targeting of specific groups on Misplaced Pages and his predatory nature, it makes me wonder if he really has anything positive to offer... ] 22:31, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

So much of the above is untrue and unfair. I might have been blocked for using sockpuppets but i NEVER ACTUALLY USED A SOCKPUPPET. And as for making threats - that is simply untrue and a statement which is trying to cause trouble. The real problem is that certain eitors don't like the idea that some of their articles are non-notable and do not want them deleted, They have meted out personal attacks which they were warned about (and some were rverted). I am trying to improve WP by getting rid of non-notable stuff such as Junior B ice hockey teams. ] 05:54, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Old instructions for this page

Choose one of three sections to make a report: Watchlist, IP addresses, or Registered users. Follow the recommended format for each section including the heading markup. Place the request at the top of the New requests subsection or the top of the watchlist. Provide page diffs from edit histories if appropriate and links to specific problem pages.

History

The first page used for tracking vandalism was a user subpage, ManningBartlett/Naughty people, some time before 4 November 2001. The vandalism in progress page was established as VANDALISM IN PROGRESS on 1 December 2001 - the title was upper-case to make it easily distinguishable on recent changes). Around the same time, the Misplaced Pages Militia (since renamed to the Volunteer Fire Department) was formed to coordinate responses to press releases about Misplaced Pages. The "VANDALISM IN PROGRESS" page was moved to the Misplaced Pages namespace in August 2002 and was renamed to the current title in 2006. Its archives since 2003 may be found in Misplaced Pages:Requests for investigation/Archives and the talk archives since august 2002 can be found in the history of Misplaced Pages talk:Requests for investigation/Archive 4 and in text form as subpages of Misplaced Pages talk:Requests for investigation. Old subpages can also be found through special:Prefixindex/Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress. the long-term abuse page also grew out of "vandalism in progress". A section on the "vandalism in progress" page for persistent vandalism was added in February 2004, later abandoned, and then re-created as "Ongoing alerts" in September 2004; in December 2004 it was split off to its own page, titled Misplaced Pages:Vandalism in progress/Long term alerts.
