:::This is a greatly revised article and the commentary on the prior version is likely not relevant on the current version of the article, which is why G4 says it is not to be used on greatly revised articles. Hello,
== Strong keep - Dr. PremRaj Pushpakaran's profile ==
I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Misplaced Pages. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its ] and view its ].
Strong keep - Dr. PremRaj Pushpakaran's profile is highly notable in India. India is already hideously under-represented in WikiBios. Such articles should be encouraged. Dr. PremRaj Pushpakaran, despite heading some of the most famous US universities like Harvard, had a distinguished academic career as teacher and scientist. True notable people like him always seem to be left out on Wiki! because the person has received significant coverage in reliable sources as a philanthropist; hence the topic passes for publishing.
Take the survey ''''''.
The article on Dr. PremRaj Pushpakaran was an entirely bad faith move on the nominator's part that was meant to influence the outcome of this AfD and they should be severely trouted if not taken to ANI for such surreptitious actions. The subject is clearly notable from the sources listed above.
Even when WP:ATA arguments are discounted, there's still no consensus to exclude the article.
Kind Regards, | |||
The sources as references, which I've checked, are more than enough to rescue the article. Individual claims are a matter of normal editing. The sources provided can be briefly quoted if more is needed.I urge very strongly to keep the article . As a person of article, he has already earned enough to be in the pages of Misplaced Pages by now. Remember, Misplaced Pages is not a pulp newspaper that keeps deleting or 'forgetting' articles as someone just feels like.
Those who want to recommend this page to be deleted have neither a vision about Misplaced Pages nor an idea about the very reasons why the page should be there. It is not because the person has become a 'superstar human being' or an eternal soul, but due to the very viral NOTABILITY he aquired (and continues to aquire) through his calibre. He has singlehandedly strived, succeeded and proved that it is possible to contemplate and execute such research projects for humanity. {{unsigned|115.241.56.184}}

Hi discospinster, | |||
In googling his given name, you may not find anything related to his music; in googling Ninth Parallel along with the names of his works, you'll see numerous large-time U.S. and non-U.S. blogs writing pieces on him as well as large YouTube channels raving about his music. Tasty Network is a Latvian channel with over three hundred thousand worldwide subscribers. The same goes for Epic Network Records, with a little over three hundred and seventy thousand worldwide subscribers, based in Lithuania. The list goes on. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 18:46, 2 June 2014 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

== My edits. == | |||
I note that you have added back a list of notable players to this article. I have removed them again as the inclusion criteria provided to my my mind in no way satisfy the requirements of the ]. There are two major problems with the list. Firstly and most importantly, this statement: ''or made significant contributions to the sport either before or after playing for the team'' in no way fulfills the requirement of the manual of style that clearly states that ''any editor considering adding a player to such a list, or excising one, should be able to make such a decision on the basis of verifiable fact, not opinion or whim''. The notion of "significant contributions" is inherently subjective and there contravenes the manual of style.
Why did you undo my edits to the article ] on 30 November? They had no source but all news websites mentioned what I mentioned, and she said what I said on Twitter/X. I did not put sources because I was not sure which news website to choose for source. Please don<nowiki>'t be rude to me. I did not link the article to olive oil or place quotation marks before or after ''toxic people'' because I forgot and I'</nowiki>m sorry. ] (]) 12:51, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
Secondly, there are a number of players on the list who either do not have an enwiki article or have no wiki article at all. This creates an inherent contradiction that editors are calling them out as particularly notable, yet no one has bothered creating an english language article for them.
:You could have used any source but you didn't, that's why I removed it. <span style="color:DarkGray">...</span> ] ] 16:14, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
== <span class="plainlinks"></span> ==
By all means have a list, but please ensure that only those players with 5 years service / 100 apps / 50 goals or intl caps are on the list, and that, if references are not provided in the club article, that all players claims to notability can be verified at least in their own WP article.
Is this adequate to unblock {{user|Adamu Abubakar Sadiq}}. Thanks. ] (]) 09:50, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Discospinster. You reverted a lot of changes I made yesterday, under the soapboxing/advertising. You're right in observing that my changes favored a particular source. - Okay, thanks for letting me know. FifthFive (talk) 22:55, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- WP:WARNVAND does state that
users should be warned for each and every instance of vandalism
and I've been told by administrators (Swarm) that leaving the templated warnings are a quote "basic expectation" and that it's never ok to not leave a warning. Is this not true? I recall a case where after a revert by Discospinster, an IP re-added their edits as they hadn't any idea of their mistake, causing more work for another editor to again revert the edits, where then I had to revert the revert as the original edit by the IP turned out to be correct in the first place. All of these unnecessary steps could have been avoided by a simple note after the first revert. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 05:24, 21 November 2024 (UTC)- Yes, it says users should be warned, not that they must be warned. Also that bit was added after I became an admin. ... discospinster talk 14:57, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

Reminder to participate in Misplaced Pages research
Hello,
I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Misplaced Pages. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. A. Quraishi - Sources
Had a question on two sources I found updating the notability of this article on Ammad Quraishi. One source seems to be a blog/newsletter entry by the subject from about two years ago referring to his identity and the precise notability claim. Not sure if it can be referenced. The other source is from a national organization that verifies the claim in an archived link (on archive.org) that has redirect issues. The primary link works, but the entry where it is sublinked is either a dead link or just not loading. Should I add these links and then refer to them on the talk page or in the AfD thread? Or do you recommend an alternative? Seeking guidance, BernieBruh (talk) 04:43, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

Bill Legend
There are multiple extended descriptions of his life and work in at least three T.Rex/Bolan books cited in his Misplaced Pages article that constitute RS in themselves. Therefore I have reinstated his article.
I suspect the same is true of Steve Currie although in fairness none were cited in that article. I am withholding restoring Currie's article for the time being until I have reviewed these sources for similar content.Romomusicfan (talk) 11:49, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

Carl Azuz
Good morning! I created a page for Carl Azuz today. I published the draft this morning Draft:Carl Azuz. I see that this page was previously deleted. Considering Carl Azuz is especially popular among middle and high school students, I assume that previous attempts to create the page lacked the necessary pieces to publish. I would like to contribute more to the page, and I hope that it is clear that Carl is a prominent enough figure to have a Wiki page. Thank you for your help in resolving this. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

The event in Manhattan should be listed on the 12/4 page because people are using "12/4" to refer to it, and it would be good if people who looked it up knew what people were talking about. Farisa's Fire (talk) 15:09, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

Mykola Leontovych was Ukrainian

- The first sentence of an article does not indicate the subject's ethnicity, it is for nationality (i.e. the country that they are from): "The opening paragraph should usually provide context for that which made the person notable. In most modern-day cases, this will be the country, region, or territory where the person is currently a national or permanent resident; or, if the person is notable mainly for past events, where the person was such when they became notable." Manmohan (judge)
I appreciate your cooments on my talk page. Please see your DIFF. So you suggesting me (by discussing these issues) to violate undertakings by Wikimedia given to Indian court of this judge as recorded in the first artycle of english wikipadia taken down by court order ? The "deleted" artycle is still accessible from WMF server so I quote for you from it
On 14 October, a bench – comprising justices Manmohan and Tushar Rao Gedela – heard the appeal; they said that Misplaced Pages's portrayal of ANI was potentially defamatory, and hence, must be defended by the editors in question. They also characterized Misplaced Pages's refusal to divulge the identifying details as "extremely disturbing", and warned that WMF would lose its protection under the Safe Harbor Act shall it choose to defend the allegations of defamation. The judges further objected to the creation of an English Misplaced Pages article about the defamation case, alleging interference with "a sub-judice matter" and took particular umbrage at the article mentioning criticism of Chawla's order. Later that week, the court passed an order directing all "pages on Misplaced Pages pertaining to the single judge as well as discussion of the observations of division bench " to be "taken down or deleted within 36 hours". On 18 October, ANI asked the court to seek contempt proceedings against the WMF, since the 36-hour deadline had not been complied with.
As an administrator/sysop you can verify this QUOTE text is accuret and exact, and it said "..all.." pages... You are a senior sysop with many edits, so please canduct per the Universal Code and using terms first and Wp local rules second.. To avoid mis-communications, WP editors operate under terms of the WMF first and after that rule of local wikis. WMF terms supersede those of any wiki.Dmitri2025 (talk) 20:04, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- If WMF's lawyers say that the information has to be removed, then it will be removed. Until then, it is cited relevant content that will stay in the article. ... discospinster talk 23:10, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Daniel Dubois: you may already know about them, but you might find Misplaced Pages:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Not sure why you didn't place one, but I've gone ahead and issued a warning template to the user in question (there was already a note from a previous revert). Cheers. – Yutah|UPage|(talk)✶ 01:46, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

- @Deepfriedokra: Is there a rule against using templates on 'regulars' or something? I did notice that their account is 20 years old and they must be quite active, judging by the talk page, but I didn't think it would preclude the use of a template. It's concise and gets the message across. I did consider there might have been a reason or such for it, which is why I added the custom personal message at the end instead of just calling it a day.
